What's the secret menu? Sure, I ordered the eggs with sausage, hash browns, sourdough toast, and coffee. I plan to order again! But what I want to order is hand printed on the board: dinner menu items Wed-Sunday! I want to try the prime rib! All the menu items (need to see the current board for specials) look tempting, and I've had their New York streak, yum, and I look forward to the prime rib! Note, Parking in front and back with back door access. Excellent service. Ok, the bathroom, is a bit smelly.

A week later...OMG! A hidden gem of gems! I thought breakfast rocked! This low-key diner kicks butt! Friendly, excellent service, food quality, food quantity! I ordered the cajun prime rib with potatoes and vegetables (16 oz slab of beef, "medium"). Potatoes melt in your mouth, and the veggies are cooked perfect, just beyond "al dente." Yum! They serve beer and wine, and the house cabernet works excellently!

I drove up from San Diego to pick up my bro at SFO on our way up north. I was only looking for a place to charge my laptop and devices, wasn't looking for anything special. I randomly chose Big Joe's 8 and am really lucky. Whomever the cook is on Wed Jan 24 2024 at 9am is a friggin rock star. Over easy eggs were perfect, bacon and sausage cooked crispy just the way I like, and the buttermilk pancakes are fluffy and delicious. The bacon is big, thick cuts, fancy gourmet style. Service was great and quick. Not only did I get a delicious breakfast and laptop charge, but they also have fast, free wifi. It has a classic diner feel with a full wall mural of "South San Francisco", back in the day. Win/win/win/win.

Large portions of delicious food. My 3 egg omelette looked like ot was more than 3 eggs. The chicken cheese and avocado was just the way I would have made it. The scrambled eggs and hashbrowns and sausage were ame amounts. Overall great experience and excellent service.

I've eaten here quite a few times over the years, and the service has been friendly every time. Generous portions on their food too. I especially like their corned beef hash.

Visiting from Austin, TX . Ordered Steak and eggs. The best breakfast steak that I ever had. Huge portion, hot and fresh.Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for delicious breakfast.

Called 20min ahead w 8 people and they accommodated us. Amazing, homestyle diner breakfast at affordable prices. Will stop again.

Cozy, old timer atmosphere.. if you think you're at the best spot.. then you haven't tried Big Joe's 8.. cooked to perfection. So far I've had sausage/ cheese omelet MMMMMM. and then I had chicken fried steak. I used a fork to cut thru.. yeah, it was that tender.. and the portion size is big. 2 people per plate big. Lots of parking in back, street parking in front. Great customer service. My hat's off to the cook.

This is where you have to stop in the morning for big hungers! Pancakes are huge (and above all very good) and in a dinner like we don't do them anymore! The service is very pleasant. I highly recommend! (Parking in front of or in a nearby street)

Big Joes 8 right outside the airport is wonderful little stop for the hungry during breakfast time. Reminiscent of your local mom and pop eatery, this quaint restaurant offers a variety of good food. I got the steak and eggs combo with hashbrowns and sourdough. The steak was cooked well and the hashbrowns were very good. My wife got the eggs florentine which was delicious, especially mixed in with the sourdough. The portion size is appropriate for the price. All in all if I'm ever back at the San Francisco Airport I will be stopping back at Big Joe's 8.

Went in to kill time had not been they in a long time the food is still good and the now take a credit card and don't have to pay cash all the time

We saw the line waiting to get into nearby Morning Wood, so we came here instead. Loved the chicken, avocado and cheese omelets. Friendly service and low key atmosphere.

The food is always good and the staff is very friendly, they remember my orders and just ask
Which one I want. It’s on of my go to spots for breakfast or lunch.

Small diner, but easy to find a table on a Tuesday at noon. The omlettes were HUGE and tasty. Hash browns were good too. My 2yo enjoyed the blueberry pancakes (and so did I)! Street parking was easy to find.

Clean place, tasty dishes (I am a VERY picky person though...). The waitress was kind and quick - and did not take notes, remembered all the orders and nailed it all. Definitely recommend the place to all.
Atmosphere 4 - those ceiling fans are a bit "hmmm" for me, I don't like draught.
