Lake Merced Park

Went Kayaking in the North Lake, used the North Lake Boat Dock to put in and tie off. A few groups of people were also using the dock for Dragon Boat practice.

The last third of the dock is absolutely inundated by goose droppings, so definitely be aware of that.

Going under the North Lake Bridge we found that the east side of the lake was completely deserted and we were the only three crafts in the water.

In the east part of North Lake there’s nowhere to tie off or beach if you need to use the restroom or want to picnic, so keep that in mind.

In the west part of North the only places to disembark are either the boat launch where you put in or two staircases that lead directly into the water along the south shore on either side of the North Lake Mini Fishing Pier.

Overall a nice day on the water looking at nesting birds and jumping fish and just relaxing.

I love this park, it's a great place for recreations taking photos and fishing. Beautiful place.

We walked a lap around the lake but mistakenly thought we could take a shortcut through the golf course and added 2 miles to our trip. It was great!

The North Lake bridge is open now. It was closed during pandemic time.

There is only one public restroom nearby the parking lot of Harding park. So get prepared for this.

I walked my dog and enjoyed watching rowers practice in the water while my husband was at the driving range of the golf course adjacent to the picnic area. It's a lovely little spot.

Lake Merced is a beautiful place for all age groups. The path around the lake can handle walking, running, wheelchairs, strollers, bicycles, etc...the lake attracts a variety of widelife and it's likely you will see something new each visit! There are three main parking lots and a ton of street parking, generally speaking, parking isn't an issue.

One of my favorite parks to bird watch. Great accessible paths as well as hidden trails with beautiful natural surprises along them. Bathrooms by the boathouse even have hooks in them! There are also water faucets sprinkled throughout that side of the lake, too.

Quiet ( but full of birds chirping) & peaceful ( but the birds are busying at fishing). Very nice place to have a small walk with lots of natural live animals around.

It was windy today, just a few cars, I was next to the zoo. Golf course is also located here not sure if their restaurant was open. Some repairs but my dogs loved

We went there to Kayak. Great staff from San Francisci Recreation and Parks. Calm Lake with lots of birds.

Visited the bar & grill, and we enjoyed it. Overcast day, however, had a 🍺 & 🍟 on the patio, which overlooked one of the golf ⛳ course holes. Service was good, Mike was awesome, and hostess was awesome.

I love Lake Merced, is the top 1 place in San Francisco in my opinion if you are looking to live of have a good walking morning, if you go around the lake is almost 5 miles, by bike in a easy rhythm is between 30 to 40 min, walking can be 1:30 hour in a easy speed and enjoying the view, its clean, safety and as well you can cross the lake in the middle of the golf club and have a very good experience

Nice area for walking exercise, the loop is 4,5 miles. It has a beautiful scenery and the area is safe.

Great place to have a Regatta...beautiful park...very clean..lots of raccoons/ducks.

It has a parking space and is conveniently located right next to the road(Lake Merced Blvd).
Beautiful walking trails in harmony with nature, such as wild plants, trees, and animals

Great for picnic. Canoeing, boating, fishing in the lakes also accessible. DO NOT disturb ecosystem by feeding wildlife!!!

Great 4.5 mile jog or walk!

This is a gorgeous park! I love strolling around the lake and soaking up the sun (whenever it makes an appearance) in the soft green grass. Even though many people run, walk, and ride around, the interior is generally pretty peaceful.

Beautiful place to take a stroll or sit and read at one of many benches.
