Icing on the Cake

Such a delicious bakery! The banana cake is a must. It's moist and the icing is the best. The carrot cake was out of this world. I also bought the Eminem and Snickerdoodle cookies. They were incredible too. This was my 1st time going to Icing on the Cake and can't wait to be back.
The only thing I didn't like and I feel the bakery can do better at is that every single slice of cake was wrapped in plastic. It must be because they are trying to conserve the freshness of the cake but it just feels incredibly wasteful and unnecessary. I'd be as happy if the slices of cake are put in paper boxes or biodegradable plastic wrap? Just a comment. This bakery is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ just trying to help making it even better :) thank you!

Wonderful bakery with so many goodies, some vegan friendly options too. They have been around in LG for a long time, with a new owner in place it's just the same high-quality product, great service, and friendly staff.
Hats off to the former owner, I'm glad you found a great fit for your legacy to live on.

This is my go-to spot for goodies when I'm in Los Gatos. The banana cake is top tier! It's a must-have. My second favorite item is the maple pound cake. But in all honesty, I've not had anything that I don't like, and I've tried most of their items. Well... except for anything with raisins. I'm not a fan of the dried grapes! So you're on your own there! But if those baked goods taste anything like the others, you'll be a-okay!!!

I was on my way to a wedding and needed to pick up the cakes before the shop closed. I was stopped dead in traffic on highway 17 for over an hour. I called them frantically knowing I wouldn’t make it before the shop closed. A worker offered to meet me at an exit if need be, which was beyond kind, however I was headed further into San Jose. They reassured me by offering to stay late for me to get the cakes to bring to the wedding. If you are thinking about choosing them for your wedding or event I promise they will ensure you get what you need. Best customer service I’ve seen in a year.

Wow - I am impressed! I had the banana bread with the chocolate chips and walnuts. The pound cake slice was so delicious - soft, and delicate! I would absolutely come here again and order more!

I LOVE coming here. Everything is fantastic but my favorite things are the lemon cake with frosting and pound cakes. The gift shop is adorable and who couldn't find the right card there? The staff is always amazingly friendly and accommodating and if you get to say hello to the owner, she absolutely is, the Icing on the Cake!!! Go there...NOW!!!

Banana cake, cupcakes, cookies, pastries, you name it and it’s fantastic! We ate it all here and this place lived up to its name. The people who recommended this place called it the best in town! They were right. This is a “must go” if you are in Los Gatos. Every time!

Such a friendly staff! I love this place, makes me feel like a kid again. It's awesome how many options they have for dietary restrictions. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who is vegan or dairy free and looking for a fluffy cake!

This place makes delicious cakes. Normally when you order a cake you have a lot left over. Not this time everyone was asking for more. The cake was beautiful as well. It may cost a pretty penny but the cake was worth it for the great event. I highly recommend.

I wanted to surprise a friend with their famous banana cream cheese cake and they made the most beautiful roses for the decoration! Both cake and roses were a hit!!

They have a small rear parking lot.

Great, it's all great. First off this is kind of a biased review and I say kind of my father in law use to be a baker there, but he hasn't worked there if a few years since he has retired and is traveling. My wife and I have been ordering our wedding cake every year from there since we first bought it back in 2007. Still great treats and the customer is still amazing. Keep up the great work.

This is the best bakery I have ever come across and it has been our go to place for birthday cakes since 2007. Everything they make is fabulous and we drive from Gilroy for their cakes and tasty treats! Their banana cake with cream cheese frosting is our favorite. They make cookies, cupcakes, pound cakes, and specialty items like their pink big tops and salted caramel moons which are like pillowy-soft, cake-like cookies frosted with delicious icing. They also make rice crispy treats and other confections. Their staff is always friendly and they seem to serve their customers quickly even when they are super busy. I only wish I lived closer!

Love thier process of keeping everyone safe , eating masks and limiting number of customers in the store. Purchased a wonderful 10" vegan no-flour carrot cake. The decoration was perfect for the Hawaiian themed retirement party. Everyone devoured the cake, it was delicious!

This place doesn't need my great rating, but here it is: hands down the BEST cupcakes around. The "campfire" (I think it's called) is amazing: Graham cracker cake with marshmallow fluff icing covered in chocolate. Not too sweet, either. Oh, and that's one thing: I wish that most of the desserts here could be a little less sweet. My sister and I actually talked about this. We like fat and a bit less of the sugar rush.

I’m a huge fan of chocolate but I must say the banana cake here is phenomenal. I’ve had it more than once and I believe it’s one of the signature desserts at the shop. The staff is friendly and it was easy to get writing and flowers added to the cake (in the color of our choice). I got lucky to get the last banana cake behind the case during my recent visit but I would recommend ordering in advance. Note: my five star rating is strictly based on the banana cake and the customer service.
