We delivered our daughter at Good Samaritan 2 months ago and had a wonderful experience during and after delivery. The rooms are very well equipped with all things necessary for mom and baby, with some thoughtful additions too. All the staff, nurses and doctors truly care about the patients. They have all required specialty doctors available on site, and the nurses are fully trained in different birthing techniques as well as providing comprehensive post partum care. During delivery, the nurses went above and beyond by not only providing required care but also emotional support and effective techniques to minimize pain. Their pantry is well stocked and they offer a variety of food options.

My wife had an accident 2 months ago. All the staff was absolutely amazing starting from the ER until we were discharged 9 days later. They are genuinely caring for her needs. Food was delicious and healthy as well. Facilities and laboratories are also very clean and they have state of the art medical equipment. I'm glad I choose Good Samaritan Hospital, my wife is now fully recovered.

I worked as a department director at Good Sam’s in 1988/1989. I am sorry to see that it sold to a For Profit organization. The leadership during my time tried so hard to keep it Not-For-Profit. Makes me sad.

I have a great experience at the hospital. Just be clear, there's a waiting period, you have to have some patience, it's not fast food restaurants it's real patients with real issues. I need some stitches and I did not want to go to some clinic. So that's my two cents. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

WOW! What a great experience - if ever getting an operation can be a good experience, this was it. The staff was really great and made my one day stay almost enjoyable. The meal service was so far ahead of my experience at another hospital! I was in the Orthopedic section and had access to the equipment, etc. to get me started on the road to recovery along with the help to get going. Daniel Mendoza, the coordinator for Orthopedic and Spine Surgery, was terrific helping me know what was going to happen during my stay and afterwards. I really appreciated his knowledge and making my stay less stressful. I can't say enough good things about my experience at Good Sam and highly recommend the hospital and facilities.

I went here initially for preterm contractions at 35 weeks, and I was very pleased with my experience. They monitored me for about 8 hours until the contractions stopped, and I was impressed with their kindness and professionalism. It was a scary time for this first time mom, but they helped put me at ease.

The second time I was here was for my actual delivery at 38 weeks, and Tarah was the primary nurse that took care of me. She was fantastic and the birth went really smoothly—it was as peaceful as a birth could be. The team was considerate of my birth plan (I didn’t have a ton of requests, but they dimmed the lights during my birth and further delayed cord clamping per request). Theyalso werduring the epidural process. The anesthesiologist was patient and listened when I mentioned that in the past (like at the dentist) I usually need more of the numbing in the beginning.

The care team after birth was also great. Overall I was impressed with the level of care and would recommend a mama to have birth here. The one thing I wish I had figured out during my time in the hospital was breastfeeding. I had a number of nurses and around two lactation consultants come to try and help me latch with lots of struggling. It was also a bit confusing because each nurse had her own approach to breastfeeding—and while maybe that’s maybe helpful to some, for me it made it confusing because I was constantly changing approaches and there was no consistency (for instance, some nurses tried to have me use a nipple shield while others were adamantly trying to talk me out of it, they had me trying all sorts of different breastfeeding positions each time there was a shift change, etc). I wish that I would have seen a lactation consultant immediately day 1 or at least by 2, as this wasn’t something that was offered initially and I wasn’t able to get a good latch by the time I left the hospital and left feeling really sad and demoralized. The lactation consultants didn’t start coming to help until the end of my stay—by which time I had already been struggling too long and I didn’t have time to practice/was really confused with too much differing advice and not enough consistency. I also didn’t understand at the time why they were wanting me to pump until after I left the hospital (I wish this would have been explained). Ultimately breastfeeding was a huge area of stress for me in the hospital and after I was discharged (much more stressful and difficult than the actual birth), and I think this is the biggest area of opportunity for the care team. Please work on getting lactation consultants to see struggling moms immediately and don’t wait (I wish I knew to ask for this and be insistent). Also, please do a better job of looking at what prior staff has recommended in terms of breastfeeding and coming up with a more consistent plan versus changing recommendations based on the luck of who you see.

All the doctors and nurses at Good Samaritan Hospital did an amazing job taking care of me during my surgery and especially after my surgery. They all did great work and made me feel at ease every time I needed help with pain or feeling uncomfortable. They all took the time to get to know me on a personal level which made me feel comfortable and open to trust them. Just know you will be in great hands if you ever end up at this hospital.

I saw Dr. Binkley in the ER for ongoing abdominal pain, and I was blown away by his compassion, his knowledge, and his quality of care. The folks who did the CT scan and ultrasound were also great and treated me with kindness. I didn't ever feel like I was "rushed to be in and out" like lots of medical facilities that are overwhelmed with patients. Actually, the intake process was quite quick and saw the doctor almost right away. I also appreciate the follow-up call asking how I was feeling. Thank you!

Breast care center is always pleasant and efficient! Love this place! (My only complaint would be I had a 7:15 check in and arrived a few minutes early to find the doors don't open until 7:15) BUT the bright side... I was treated to this beautiful Sunrise!

My husband went to the ER because to my husband had an accidental insulin overdose. We arrived at approx. 11:45 pm and were assisted by a doctor right away. He said my husband would be monitored for a couple of hours to make sure he was okay. We sat in the waiting room and a doctor or med tech came by frequently to check his blood sugar level over the 2 hour period. When his reading had been steady and for some time, the doctor told us that we could leave.

I recently delivered my daughter here and the nurses, doctors, and lactation consultants were amazing. They all had great bedside manners and made a very uncomfortable situation much easier.

Rachel was my night nurse and she was wonderful in helping me get pain medication and making sure I was comfortable and taken care of through the night. Lindsey was my day nurse and was absolutely amazing. My baby was having a hard time dropping, and Lindsey tried out all sorts of positions to help her drop and make delivery easier. A nurse came in to relieve Lindsey for a break right before I began to push, and Lindsey said she'd rather stay with me and help me deliver. I know how overworked nurses are, so this meant so much to me. Lindsey was a fabulous labor coach.

Dr. Burke delivered my baby, and I don't know where I'd be without her. At the beginning of delivery, my baby's heart stopped briefly, and within seconds we had an abundance of nurses in the room helping out. They wanted to pull Dr. Burke to help another doctor with a c-section, and Dr. Burke was adamant that she stayed with me during delivery. She worked magic to prevent me from having an emergency c-section, and I had minimal tearing. Dr. Burke and Lindsey distracted me during delivery by talking about vacations, movies (especially Ryan Reynolds), etc. In the end, I delivered a beautiful baby girl.

I cannot say enough positive things about the staff I encountered here. I don't know if I'll have another baby, but if I do I will definitely be back at Good Samaritan for L&D. Thank you so much to Rachel, Lindsey, and Dr. Burke.

I came in to the Good Sam ER with chest discomfort and was immediately given an EKG and taken in to a room. I received prompt and friendly treatment from the staff. I was assigned a nurse of my own, which allowed me to get special attention. ER notified my cardiologist, who quickly arrived and diagnosed the likely problem but nevertheless scheduled a test to be sure. After the test, I was admitted to the hospital overnight for observation. During this time I received outstanding care from doctors, nurses and other hospital staff.

As a result of my wife calling 911, I rode to Good Sam in an ambulance. When we arrived, we were met by a significant number of individuals that quickly took me to an emergency room where I was quickly treated for a suspected tia. All though the hospital was very busy and I had to wait quite a while for a room, the emergency staff is to be commended for handling the rush. During my total of two and a half days, I received excellent care. All of the staff were very friendly and efficiently took care of my every need.

Best emergency room ever. Everyone is on top of it. Making your visit pleasant and making you feel cared for. Every dept that helped me were excellent. My nurse Erin was top notch. She was an excellent nurse and person. I work as a nurse myself for Sutter and I am so impressed with this hospital system and the excellent care you give to your patients. Thank you for all of your great care and attention
