I finally took my 2015 981 Porsche Boxster S to an Indy Shop for work outside my skill scope and Porsche dealer maintenance.
I am very happy with Modderman with the PDK and gears set differential fluid change. David even told me I didn’t need a new oil pan with its built in oil filter as I had only 22,700 miles on it and it was very clean still. I am very picky where and who performs on my Porsche and David made feel at easy after talking to him and asking a few questions. The whole personnel is very professional, polite and really listens to you.
And Modderman did it at a fraction of Porsche Dealers price.

There is no doubt about it, when ever I’ll need any work done on my Porsche that I can’t do myself I’ll be calling Modderman!

He is very responsive, trustworthy and honest in terms of what your car *really* needs. On top of this, the service department is extremely efficient and had several repairs complete in less than 24 hours. Dave, his team and his shop provide the highest level of service. Dave took me under my car, which I brought in for an initial inspection and minor service, to show and explain areas of the car that need attention and things to observe.

His shop and workspace is quite organized and clean for the amount of work they are doing. The shop is on the level of "camera ready". Pulling into Modderman Service instantly let me know I was at the right place.

This shop provides excellent quality service with matching knowledge & experience, so be prepared to pay for that quality. Shouldn't be a problem if your familiar with Porsche.

Had an alternator failure on my 85 Carrera. Had it towed to Modderman outside of business hours. Despite being booked out pretty solidly, Dave sourced a new alternator and got me rolling within a couple of days. Top tier service!

Did a fantastic job on my old Porsche 944, fixing several things the previous mechanic either did not do correctly or could not figure out. Found multiple things I did not even ask about, and fixed all of them after consulting with me. All for reasonable prices. Immaculate shop, seems very professional.

Work is always, always done right, and right the first time. Dave has also pointed out things that needed attention, that I wasn't aware of.

On my last visit, Dave repaired the headliner inside my Cayman, which hung down loose from the car's roof. After the repair, the headline was perfect.

I never have the feeling that I'm being ripped off, as I was when I had to take the car to the dealer for warranty period service.

I brought my friend's Porsche Cayman to Dave a few years ago for service, and he not only explained every technical detail of the service to us, he gave us a great deal - far less than the dealer.

Later when my friend bought the incorrect brake bulbs for me to install, Dave helped me find and install the correct bulbs within 5 minutes. Thanks a bunch Dave!

Modderman changed the timing belt on our 944, replaced the clutch hydraulic slave cylinder and as a bonus solved an issue with the complex sunroof that didn't want to latch. Dave showed me the removed parts and made sure I was happy with the work performed. The car has been great to drive since then. I plan to bring in my 911 next- very happy to have such an experienced and helpful shop team in the bay area.

I bought a 2012 and had Dave put on a sport exhaust, as well as do some general maintenance. Since I've been using him, he always does quality work, and gives the wallet a break whenever he can. Absolute best service anyone can ask for, I wish I had him down here in San Diego

I first visited Modderman in 2015 after my 2001 996 developed an odd intermittent squeaking sound. I had already taken my car to a local dealer and two independent shops where I paid a lot of money for them to replace parts that weren't broken. At my wit's end, a friend recommended I try Modderman. Dave made it his personal mission to get to the bottom of my issue. A week later, he had solved my issue and I was shocked to learn that his total bill was less than I'd paid any of the other shops who failed to fix the problem. I have been taking my car to Modderman ever since.

I own a '89 944 NA with 150K miles on it and when it came time to replace the clutch I knew I could trust Dave and his crew. They previously replaced the water pump and timing belt and had me back on the road in no time. In the 3 years I have been in the Bay Area they have always taken great care of my car. If you value your Porsche then you are in good hands with Modderman Services, I have the receipts to prove it.

I have been going to Dave and his team for 4 years, and I would recommend Modderman Services without reservation. Dave and his team at Modderman fixed a very tricky Check Engine light problem on my '98 993 that multiple shops (including a dealer) in the Bay Area couldn't resolve. One Porsche shop wouldn't even take on the problem - too difficult to solve. Off and on I spent two years having shops take a stab at resolving the problem. When they couldn't accurately troubleshoot the problem the proposal was to start replacing expensive parts in the hopes of permanently clearing the problematic load sensing code. Just costly guesswork. I finally found Modderman through their excellent Google reviews. They nailed the problem and fixed it in an efficient and inexpensive way! I couldn't be happier with my experience with Dave and Modderman Services. If you've got a tricky issue with an older Porsche I highly recommend Modderman. They truly know what they're doing!

Dave Modderman and his uncle before him are the only people who have cared for my Porsche 993 which I bought new in 1995. I trust him completely, along with Steve and Carter, who complete the team. All great guys, excellent mechanics and easy to work with. Highly recommended. The best.

Dave and Steve have now taken care of two of my Porsche in their house, and doing a great job. I have had other people work on my cars and not been as satisfied. I have gone back to an older model that needs a little more TLC than the last. One of the things that I like is that if something is amiss, they take care of it. It saves me time and the trouble of multiple trips. The only complaint is that I just wish they were a little closer to home.
