I was craving won ton soup today so tried this place out. I ordered to go and my order was promptly ready when I arrived and it was still piping hot! The soup was delicious and comforting! This looks like to be a family type of restaurant, not fancy, but has room for lots of tables. The parking situation is not great though. There are only a few dedicated spaces on the side of the restaurant and you have street parking. I will be back to try out more items. I am excited to find another restaurant that serves really good Chinese food to feed that craving!

my family has been coming to hong kong restaurant for 10+ years. it's been our go-to chinese restaurants for both sit meals for special occasions as well as takeout.

hong kong remains to be one of the most reasonably priced chinese restaurants by far, especially if you are eating family style with a larger group. service is not the most friendly but always efficient.

our family's favorites include: salt and pepper fried fish fillet, salt and pepper pork ribs, beef chow fun, string beans, and mu shu pork.

we will continue to visit hong kong with our family and friends!

The food was really good! I got the chicken noodle soup. The chicken had a good texture, the broth was great. Really enjoyed it! I had (I recommend) the potstickers and fried prawn with a delicious sweet and sour sauce. Their potstickers are portion larger, which I like. Usually, when I go to other restaurants, the potstickers are small. The service was great. Very Courteous.

Very quick service. Food was spectacular. Their soup was amazing and came as a surprise. The beef stew had extremely tender beef with great flavor. The salt and pepper pork ribs were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and could be peeled off the bone easily. Very good restaurant. Would highly recommend.

Awe inspiring attraction. A must see whenever one has a day to spend in the City. It would be better to make an appointment to view the exhibit next door though

Good food and flavors. Restaurant is clean and they follow good health practices such as face masks, keeping distance etc. I ordered to go and it was carefully packaged. Size portions are large, prices are affordable and customer service was good and friendly too — I recommend it

I love the mongolian beef from this place. I have ordered other dishes in the past too and they all are great! High quality for a great price and they make it quick for pick up!

I have ordered again but this time different plates: combination fried rice, egg plant with hot garlic sauce. I forgot what the veggie plate is called: mushu vegetables??? All very delicious!!!

I don't know this cuisine especially well, but the pan fried stuffed baihua tofu was very tasty.

First I have to say that the older lady that works there is amazing. We always have our kids with us and it's tricky with a 1 yr old and a 5 yr old to sit still or leave food on the table and not the floor. She always comes by to check up on us or gives our kids little treats to help them stay calm. Sometimes it's fortune cookies or slices of oranges. The food is good when you see other people around you getting the same thing. I always order the roasted half duck. If you want somewhere to sit down and eat as a family, here it is.

Pros:
- Food is not overly salty, oily, or heavy. It's perfectly seasoned, uses just a normal amount of oil, and tastes very authentic and home-made.
- lots of free goods! I've gone twice and both times we've gotten free soup as an appetizer and free dessert at the end. The free soup was actually quite a large bowl, and while there weren't that many items in the soup, the broth tasted quite good. The dessert was a sweet red bean soup with little tapioca balls. It was a bit sweet for me but still a nice treat to cap off a good meal.

Cons:
- Food is chopped up into huge industrial size pieces, which makes it a little hard to eat.

Specific food we got:
- on choy (chinese watercress, hollow hearts): very good, not oily, and doesnt seem like they used msg. Crunchy and savory
- Fish in clay pot: Lots of huge fish chunks that were very well seasoned. Tofu was a bit bland.
- Pepper beef: doesn't taste sickeningly sweet like a lot of other restaurants do. It's very savory and well cooked, although not very peppery at all. It is a bit cornstarch heavy.
- Beef stew in clay pot: delicious! Definitely a must try, the beef is so tender and juicy, and the daikon is very nicely cooked (not too mushy, not too crunchy).

Fairly authentic hong kong food can be found here at good prices! Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick eat, parking is generally on the side street (easy to find)

One of the best Chinese restaurants in town. The menu selection is plenty and fast service as well.
Pecking duck is great.

Very good! I’m pretty unfamiliar with traditional Chinese food, so I went with the beef. (Can’t remember the exact name of the dish). It was flavorful and filling.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hong Kong Restaurant and I must say, it was a truly fantastic experience. Not only was the food absolutely delicious - some of the best I've had in the area - but the free hot tea and soup that they provide really added a special touch to the meal. And to top it off, they even gave us a plate of fresh oranges with the check! The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the portions that they serve. All in all, I had a wonderful time at Hong Kong Restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal at a great price.

Update: there has been a change in owners. Have not been back yet, but below is my review before learning that.

Good food, best food for the price, good service. Been going here for years. I come nearly every week for dinner and to go for the upcoming weekend.
They have a great stuffed chicken for holidays. I order it 24hr in advance for pick up. Crispy skin with rich sticky rice and lotus seed stuffing.
They have free soup for every meal and it is so homey with no msg.

I recommend stuffed shrimp tofu and jalapenos, fried rice (Cantonese fried rice perfected!), stir fried snow pea shoots, chicken and onion clay pot, fried tofu with scallops, ong choy.

Best Cantonese food around. Our go to place. This is as good as you can get in the area. Unlike other Chinese restaurants nearby the food is authentic Cantonese with a few obligatory dishes that satisfy Caucasian tastes. Walk in and the diners are 90% Asian. Good indication you're in the right place. The seafood is very fresh. Had salt and pepper prawns last night and they were perfectly prepared. Lightly battered, not oily, crispy on the outside, large and sweet as always. Added some beef chow fun, soup of the day and sauteed mustard greens with garlic. Enough for three. We've been regulars for 30 plus years, going back to when they were on El Camino near San Antonio and have never had any dish that didn't satisfy us. You simply can't go wrong here. The banquet menus are written both in Chinese and English. If you're with a group of at least 6-8 people you should experiment. You'll be in for a real treat from soup to dessert.

After over 30 years, Hong Kong has new owners. We've eaten in on one occasion and have had takeout twice. Two takeaways ... there are some new items on the menu and items that we've ordered many times in the past are just as good as they've always been (sigh of relief)! Tried a chef's specialty crispy tamago tofu with mushrooms and bok choy. Perfectly done. Some wait staff have been retained and there are some new people including a manager type person named Raymond. I mentioned that we had been frequent customers for years and was happy that the place was in good hands. He said he would do his best to always take good care of us. Wasn't expecting that but it was nice and seemed genuinely sincere. All but two large banquet tables were full and those were marked as reserved. All but one table were Asian customers. A good sign that they will do well and continue with good quality and excellent Cantonese cuisine.
