I love this salon! After my former stylist from another salon moved out of town, I’ve been searching for a new one. A friend of mine recommended this salon, and now I’ve already been here three times to get my hair done! My stylist always gets it right! If you’re trying to find for a good salon, look no further! All the staff are friendly and the atmosphere and warm, upbeat and inviting. 100% would recommend this salon to anyone. :)

As someone w very thick, coarse, curly hair, it’s been very hard for me to find a place that can properly treat and cut my hair. Gwen did a fantastic job! She was kind, thoughtful, and patient as we worked through what I wanted.

Kait at The Hair Lab is the best! I have been going to her since moving to Saint Louis and I've never been happier with my hair! I don't get my hair done often, so Kait does low-maintenance color that still looks natural when it starts to grow out - seriously amazing! Kait is super knowledgeable about how to best color different hair types and which products are most effective! I wouldn't trust anyone else to do my hair, plus you couldn't ask for a kinder person to talk to or a better salon to go to! 100% recommend Kait and The Hair Lab to anyone!

I couldn’t be more happy with my experience today at the Hair Lab. Gwen was perfect and I love my cut. She was informative and very professional. I have never had a scalp massage that good. She gave me great tips on my hair care. Top notch!

Hailey is amazing! She is great with all my curls, keeps me comfortable and helps me learn how to manage my curls at home. The salon is super cute and everyone is so nice!

I always leave Hair Lab in such a good mood, and with a great haircut, too. Rachel has really helped me figure out my hair and styling.

I’ve been going to the Hair Lab to see Sachi for a couple of years now. I look forward to every visit! It’s a great, welcoming atmosphere and I’m so glad I found them. Sachi does a wonderful job bringing your vision to life. I have wavy hair and I’ve loved every cut I’ve gotten from her. She did an incredible job on balayage for me as well. I was so excited to get my wedding photos back and see my great my hair color looked. I’ve also worked with Tracie and Jacob and they are fantastic as well. This is definitely a splurge for me but the incredible care and attention I get from the stylists here is worth it!

Got paired with Jacob and won’t be looking for another hairstylist any time soon. He listens to what I am envisioning and executes above my expectations. Got hair trim with curtain bangs and then blonde balayage. Facility is nice and they use good smelling products!

I have been a client of The Hair Lab for many years. My love for the Lab is vast, as it truly is the best! Emily is phenomenal and her staff is exemplary. After stepping away from the Lab (for a short time), I returned and required an extensive color correction. Upon my return, I was booked with one of the Lab’s newest team members, Tom. At my appointment, I explained (to Tom) my situation and ultimate hair goals. Tom was understanding, accommodating, and confident that he could return my hair to all of its blonde glory- with the caveat that additional sessions would be required to achieve my ultimate hair color goal. To say that I left my appointment happy, would be an understatement. Tom is extremely talented, which is evident by his attention to detail and the finished product. I look forward to continuing my hair journey with him at The Hair Lab.

I came in for a haircut with Chelsea after waiting on the waiting list. I wish I had a before and after because she changed my life! She was so knowledgeable and gave me great advice on how to maintain and take care of my hair. She noticed problem areas and resolved them. She gave me the exact cut I asked for but somehow managed to make it better. She cuts with authority and it feels great to be in her hands. Worth the wait on the list. Thanks Chelsea!!

I was able to schedule online/via email and didn’t have to speak to a human on the phone.

Brian was amazing. I am neurodivergent and the experience of getting my haircut is often overstimulating and all too much for me. Brian was welcoming and kind, but more than that they took into consideration my neurodivergence and accommodated those needs by creating a calming and collaborative environment where I felt empowered. And the haircut is exactly what we discussed, taking my needs into consideration with their recommendations. Highly recommend Brian. I look cute as hell.

I absolutely love this place!! The people are so nice and welcoming!! The last that checks you in is the sweetest (sorry I can't remember your name) Tom and Hailey are perfect! You oay fir what you get! Also the atmosphere is wonderful!! 10/10 would recommend.

Highly recommend!!! Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Hailey was amazing with my curly hair and she explained every step of her process while making me feel so so comfortable.

Went to the Hair Lab for the first time today. I got a major chop (cut from mid-back to chin length) and scalp treatment. Jacob spent a ton of time with me and did an amazing job. My hair feels so light and bouncy and soft, and it looks *exactly* how I wanted it to. The scalp treatment center as super relaxing and refreshing. I must confess, I don’t get professional haircuts often as I’m usually the type to trim my own hair at home, but this was soo worth it.

The whole staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and I got great vibes immediately upon walking in. Chelsea was wonderful- she gave me a curly cut- and I really appreciated the time she took to chat with me about my hair before she started working on it. The end result was amazing! Hands down, best experience I’ve ever had at any hair salon. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I like this place a lot. People are friendly, very kind, and the space looks pretty cool.Brian my hair stylist is the rock star of my hair,we went from a very long hair to a very, very short pixie cut, and I absolutely adore it!!! Give them a try, you would love it!

Exactly a year ago I got my hair done here and I would recommend it to anyone! I was so nervous about adding color to my hair and Kait walked me through the process with a consultation, easing my mind. A year later and I’m still loving my color! It was blended so well that my natural color has grown in but it looks like it was recently done. Whenever I’m ready to do more color the Hair Lab is where I’m heading without a doubt

She was very professional and knowledgeable about how to achieve the look I was going for. I recently moved and wish I could've taken The Hair Lab with me!! Sachi is an excellent artist! She always styles my hair with great care and precision, adding texture and volume. I trust her to do a great job every time. Last time I was running 15 minutes late and she accommodated me into her busy schedule. Highly recommend!!

I have known Emily since she started at J3, the home of my favorite - Judith.

Emily became my hairstylist suddenly after a break up with my former stylist from college; who was not receptive and was keeping me from entering the professional world with odd hair color and mundane styles.

When you find a person as amazing as Emily , you follow her creative mind anywhere and everywhere - to small rented spaces, The Lofts, back to J3 and now to her very own studio/lab/creative space.

That is the great thing about Emily - she comes with experience and she delivers full heart into everything she does (and everyone she mentors). She is an artist, a chemist, a teacher and possibly a psychic - I rarely tell her what to do. I may give a “what about this...” or “look at this pic...” and all of sudden, my hair and color are better than I could have ever imagined.

I am so proud of her for taking her skills to the next level and opening a place of her own, The Hair Lab. She has hand picked the best crew (Kelli, Sachie, Nina and Katie) who are each amazing and bring a unique perspective to each client’s hair. For example, today Kati helped Emily brainstorm on the gloss to place on my hair as my engagement photos are next week. My hair = perfect. If you can’t find an appointment with Emily, you won’t go wrong booking an appointment with the other fabulous stylists of The Hair Lab.
