Torrington Library

I enjoyed my Saturday mid-morning library trip and felt welcome and comfortable upon entering. I noticed how clean and well-kept the entire place was and liked the flow of all the displays of various types and rows of bookshelves. I didn't have a long amount of time to stay but I will be back for another visit soon as I was very pleased with the Torrington Public Library and the staff working on that day.

Nothing like when I was a kid! At least, not visually. My kids love it, and since its renovations it looks fantastic! The staff is also wonderful, very good with the children. I'm happy to have such a nice library for my kids to grow up using, I'm sure it'll stay one of their favorite places as they grow older.

This library is a great place to pick up your favorite book. Read it, and trade it out for your next choice. My young children enjoy going, just to look at the variety of books and topics.
It had a full interior and exterior facelift a few years ago. That made it just that much better.
I'd highly recommend giving it a try. :)

When you visit the Torrington Library, be sure to stop in the rotunda at the streetside front of the building. The acoustics (ironically for a library) are absolutely stunning, and just tapping a foot creates a haunting echo that's bound to stir the mystery writer in anyone. The architectural details of the library are as varied as the book collection. Green marble accents are hidden gems. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the library is convenient to downtown with easy access from outlying areas, too. Surrounded by a growing arts scene, the library is ideally situated for any weekend exploration of Torrington's shops, sweets, and eats.

The Torrington Library is one of the best FREE places to go in the city! Many do not know about all the free resources offered: magazines, DVDs, museum passes, access to online crafting resources, language learning programs, research, and, of course, BOOKS! Traditional, eBooks, and audio books!
If you haven’t been in the library in a while, definitely go get a tour! You won’t be disappointed!

The Torrington library is among the best libraries in this area. The building is unique in it's beauty; a recent overhaul has added to it's beauty. The library has a knowledgeable staff that are more than willing to help you. The children's section is delightful and the teens are is perfect for our young adults. Take a tour of Torrington's library, you won't be disappointed!

Torrington Library's Customized Book Order program- a program where the library staff select books at random based on your preferred genre(s)- is a fun, free summer activity; patrons are also welcome to add specific books of interest to their order. Also, the staff members deliver friendly, efficient customer service. Torrington Library offers a variety of community events as well.

If you haven't been to T-town library in the past year, you need to check it out - the renovation is excellent! New rooms, new shelves, new carpet, new furniture - what a difference! The Kids' Library upstairs has the old outer wall exposed - you can now touch the old roof! The teens have a new space for themselves - hooray for sanctuary from little kids and parents! Way more room for materials. Good programs and a good staff to assist you. Support your local library!
