It is such a beautiful place to visit in the wintertime. When I went there, there was a winter festival going on, and there were at least 100 people on the ice having a good time. It is also a nice place to visit in the spring, summer, and fall.

Our family was camping in this area and found this amazing park!!! Beautiful lake for fishing, kayaking, swimming, & to picnic.
Handicap parking, picnic tables, sandy beach, & grass. Roped off area to swim.
No lifeguards during the week. We spent the whole day here!

Beautiful, well maintained park. Has fantastic trails around the pond after which you can take a nice cool dip into the water; there is a designated beach area perfect for all ages. And you can float around in kayaks or boats in the pond at your leisure - very peaceful. Went on a summery Sunday afternoon, busiest time it gets but not overwhelmingly so, plenty of parking and restrooms.

Although the restrooms were closed this is a great place to hike. Keep that in mind and go enjoy, great scenery, easy 3mile hike. Very little elevation and obvious trails signage!

I was so happy to find this park! It has a beach, tables for picnic and grilling, hiking around Burr Pond is great, not super hard but not boring. Entrance for the CT cars is free. A perfect find!

🍂🍂Beautiful park and pond/lake. I appreciate that it isn’t overly busy even on the weekends; seems perennial quiet and calm.

Early - mid October is the perfect time to traverse during peak fall. Definitely recommend!

Nice swimming area, a few geese but not enough to foul the water or beach, lots of picnic tables, and a big covered pavilion. I just stopped by for a scenic lunch but it's a nice spot to cool off. Plenty of parking, but plan to walk a minute or two to the beach.

Love this place. I come here with my kids every year. Great place for picnicks and swimming. They have grills and great grass areas as well as sand areas. Also have kayaks you can rent and take on the water. Excellent place to go with family.

Love going here all year round. The hike around the pond is a perfect one for all age groups. We bring our kayaks when the weather permits & can stay in them for hours just exploring or taking in the fresh air.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Burr Pond State Park is a hidden gem I never knew existed. Connecticut residents enjoy free access, and the park offers numerous picnic benches, kayaking options, and clean restrooms. Groundskeepers are both diligent and friendly, ensuring pristine waters where we observed an abundance of fish - my daughter even managed to catch several with a net. Parking is convenient with only a short walk to the well-maintained beach. Plus, it's pet-friendly; dogs are welcomed in the picnic areas that encompass the beach. Highly recommended for a quality outdoor experience.

It's clean, not too crowded even on weekends. Water is clean, from time to time some seagrass but not too bad. Ideal for kids and families. Beach with a foul shore, some bigger rocks to sit and play on. The area has a lot of grill spots and picnick tables. There are restrooms and changing rooms, free parking for CT residents. No lifeguards on duty at this place!
