I went to the post office today and a really nice lady helped me. I was in tears because I was afraid of missing my deadline for my place. She was such a good person and her conversation helped my day.

Very fast unloading I’m very grateful I’ve been to 3 different usps location in the last 10 hours and they were all very fast at unloading and the customer service is on point!

The staff at the main post office are courteous, often friendly, and as efficient as possible. It is impressive how they, as a team, work together to manage high traffic of customers. I have been there when credit card machines weren't working and they always seemed to have a system in place to run as smoothly as possible, serving customers quickly and keeping everyone satisfied. I think they deserve much more credit than we give them!!

I had scheduled an appointment for today at 11 am to submit an application for a passport. I had printed the necessary documents off the internet prior to my appointment and filled them out. I had also gathered the required proof of birth and identity documents. When I got to the post office there was quite a line, but I was called back at exactly 11 am. The lady that helped me was very friendly and helpful. Within 15 minutes, we had completed all necessary verification, filled out the paperwork, taken the required picture, paid the fees and I was on my way back to work. I am extremely satisfied with the efficient customer service I received.

Update: I received my passport 3 weeks later. Very satisfied with my experience.

Everybody likes to kick the post office; even post office people kick the post office. And for the life of me, I really don't know why. I've recently gotten another post office box. It's just more convenient: my magazines don't get wet or torn, the bills don't get “lost” as easy, I'm sure nobody suspicious is leafing through my mail, if any mail is misdelivered I can get it back in the system immediately, if I need any supplies I'm right here, etc., etc. Not once have any postal employees here been anything other than friendly, courteous, helpful and competent. I wish I could say that about everyone in the federal government...

My passport picture wasn't done properly at Walgreens, so I had to redo it at the post office located on 1165 2nd avenue, Des Moines 50318. The staff was super helpful and extremely friendly. Thank you all of you for all your hard work and your help. I greatly appreciate you! I give this post office 5 stars.

Quick, clean, lots of parking, employees were wearing masks, and employees were friendly. People don't put as much effort in leaving negative reviews as they do positive so hopefully this balances the scales a bit.

Went at 4:50 on a week night and there was almost no line. Jackie was super friendly and asked which stamp type I wanted. The service here, even last month during the crazy holiays, is efficient and friendly. Thank you!!!

Gloria was extremely helpful applying for passports. She took her time with us and explained the process.

This is the post office I always use - the inside office/customer service people I have dealt with have always been positive and welcoming. I appreciate their attitudes each time.

I work there. I see the mail and parcels being processed and I am awed how all the units work together to keep the mail moving.
