Fun bar with a great vibe. Everyone is so friendly. Great prices on beer and cocktails. Give a try to the excellent Bloody Mary they serve.

The bartenders were an absolute pleasure talking to. It was very enjoyable and pin balls games were so much fun

I attended the U of I 40+ years ago, and this was pretty much the only bar I went to. A legend of a bar.

A rare find of a non-college bar in a college town. Very laid back atmosphere, patronage is on average of an older age than neighboring bars (late 20s - mid 30s), primarily white working and middle class. Pinball machines and pool available and fairly priced. Bathroom is good. Drinks are fairly priced for the area, although nothing's a steal. A few employees have been there forever, but some portion of positions have high turnover, resulting from their policy to give people a chance. They do charge for non-alcoholic beverages.

The best bar in iowa city. I’m actually a bit reluctant to review it with such high praise because I don’t want it getting too crowded. A must-visit in the month of October.

They're making some great updates and changes BUT they're not doing anything drastic, just making things more 21st century (new flat screen televisions, cell phone charging stations at the bar and in the booths, etc.)

One of the few things that hasn't really changed in the 20 something years I've lived in Iowa City. Always friendly staff and good drinks, the epitome of a local dive bar. So happy it has been passed into the hands of the Mummeys, I know it will continue to be a staple of downtown IC.

I just read in the Press Citizen how this bar is one of the top college bars in the country, and I couldn't agree more. From the cheesy holiday decor, to the amazing bloody Marys, to the cheerful servers and staff- this bar is hands down the best bar in the area. Not to mention, they are DOG FRIENDLY which makes it the greatest. We come here a few times a month with our Hungarian Puli and we love the environment (and so does our dog). I would give this place 10 stars if it were possible.

Best staff in all of Iowa City! Hired them to serve at our wedding and couldn’t have been happier! The owner, Ben, was extremely easy to communicate with and helped tremendously with any hiccups. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to do the same! Check out how friendly the Deadwood staff is next time you’re downtown for a drink!

The staff is amazing, a really good beer selection.. sometimes the trivia is too hard, Sally is too beautiful, love the patio and the dollar PBR's during Cub's games. Perfection would be a fan on the patio so the smoke doesn't linger. Don't I deserve perfection?

My favorite bar in Iowa City, the best people in town visit this place. It's got a decent pool table, comfortable place outside to drink with interesting foot traffic, always some kind of deal on something, and the bartenders are rad. I came here the night I found out Scott Weiland died to play a bunch of STP on the jukebox and it was already in full effect when I got there. Good people, good place, highly recommend it
