I come here every week for happy hour specials, they have the best potato salad I have ever had. This is also one of the rare places around where you can actually have a proper negroni made. This is by far the best place to grab a cocktail in town if you want specialty obscure drinks and don't want to deal with the downtown demographics.

The food is delicious (and always fresh), and the menu selection is extremely precise and refined.
Lots of love, passion, and care also about how the plates are served.

The young gentle woman attending our table has been just amazing, her name is Grace, and she made us valued and truly taken care of.
My wife and I booked the restaurant for my birthday celebration, but we'll definitely have dinner there many other times!

Extremely good service. I asked if they had a sparkling grape drink I remember from thanksgivings as a child, and they did not have it; however the chef then created the drink from scratch based on my description, and got it exactly right. My most memorable dining experience to date.

First off, YUM! Cocktails food and desserts were all fabulous! And there was a drink that I had to try, I'm a Ginger and my last name is Goodvin... to find out it was my cousin how was a regular and they made this drink for him so much that they named it after him! So I had a personal neat experience here.

Spoiler: very good food in a very nice place.

We had a family dinner. Waitstaff was very friendly, helpful and patient as we were with small kids. Food was cooked to the point, tasty and spicy just to the right amount and you could see and taste that it was freshly prepared.

Not a cheap place, but worth the money.

Orchard Green is tops. A fine dining experience in beautiful space. Our go to spot when we want to treat ourselves. The atmosphere feels very warm and welcoming and allows you to really unwind. The food is absolutely outstanding as well. Everything is always prepared immaculately. Tonight we got the pork belly appetizer, cheese board, and braised duck. All were excellent and we couldn’t stop talking about it after we left.

Everything exceeded expectations. This may be one of the top two or three restaurants in Eastern Iowa and among the best in the state.
I enjoyed the braised lamb shank special. The beef tenderloin looked great too. The sides were delicious. And the pecan pie was like nothing I've ever had before.
I look forward to going again and won't wait for a special occasion.

Food was absolutely phenomenal. Shrimp and sweet potato gnocchi. Unlike anything I have ever had. Flavor blasted with sweet corn (my fave!). Our waiter, Kyle, was incredible! He knew the ins and outs of the menu and was so attentive to our table. 10/10! Will be back.

Amazing experience for my birthday! Food and service were amazing plus they have one of the best wine menus in the area with great recommendations for pairings. This is our go to place for any special occasion, but I think we need to add it into our regular rotation more. Thank you for a birthday I soon won't forget!

Excellent food and professional service. The cowboy ribeye was prepared to perfection. All the appetizers were exceptional in taste and presentation. The jalapeño margarita was a surprising favorite.

Relaxing atmosphere that feels unlike anywhere in Iowa City. Be prepared to spend some money, but be also be prepared for a true fine dinning experience.

My spouse and I went for our third anniversary to someplace we had never tried before. Perusing a few other menus, Orchard Green's caught our eye. We were greated and seated very quickly and politely in the lounge area of the restaurant. Our wait staff was sweet, attentive, offering suggestions, and upbeat smile. The crab cakes were amazing and our entrées were fantastic. Highlights were our martinis, the Tuscan Lemon Drop and Hibiscus flower were wonderfully balanced, the sauces accompanying the crab cakes, how well seasoned everything was, green beans perfectly cooked and crisp, the salmon cooked exactly right, and my Orchard Green burger was perfection. As a amateur chef myself, I have high standards for restaurants and by far this was the best meal my spouse and I have eaten, ever. We will return for special occasions and their happy hour specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

This is slowly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Service is always excellent and the staff is friendly. Food is superb and the menue is intriguing with wholesome and delicious food made of high quality ingredients. I took my daughter for her 12th birthday and she enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and appreciated the service. So, if my 12 year old kid likes, I’m all for it.

Undoubtedly one of the better if not best Iowa City date night stops! Definitely not a weekly stop for most as it is in the higher price range (rightfully so) with their fine dining atmosphere.

Ended up getting the Duck and Pork Saltimbocca both of which were delicious and full of flavor. Definitely will be back!

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary there. Food and service were both outstanding. Reasonable prices for the quality of the food.

Orchard Green is always a slam dunk! Their food and drink is always LOVELY and today the server, Kate, was immaculate. We loved our experience here, as always. Love the rotating menu so there’s always something new to experience. Even though they ran out of 3 things we wanted (2 desserts and 1 appetizer) it was still a 5 star experience and Kate made up for any kitchen descrepancy. Don’t hesitate to choose Orchard Green! My absolute favorite date night spot! The food is always delicious and the cheesecake there is to die for. Absolutely enjoy going there because the ambiance is set just right

We had very high expectations going in after having read all of the raving reviews. High expectations have often led to disappointment for us but Orchard Green did not let us down! It was amazing! We decided to head downstairs to the lounge so that we could try the burgers and sandwiches. Here’s the rundown of what we got and what we thought:

Crab cakes: small but heavenly! And crammed FULL of tender crab (not a bunch of fillers). The sauces and flavors on the plate were the perfect complement to the crab. A fantastic start.

Artisan cheese board: I wish I could buy every sauce they had on that platter, the flavors were rich and unique and fantastic paired with the yummy cheeses and breads.

Lobster squash bisque: exactly what you expect, creamy and comforting.

Caesar salad: the only disappointment we had. We love Caesar salad but we felt like this Caesar dressing was lacking in flavor to our personal tastes. But lettuce was crisp and the garnishes were perfect for a Caesar salad, especially the yummy crisps for croutons.

OG Burger: Amazing! One of my favorite burgers I’ve ever had. So much flavor in the meat (which can be such a miss at some restaurants), and the flavor of everything on it was wonderful. Loved having it on focaccia bread. The fact that you can get a burger this beautifully made for $6 on Thursday nights (half off) blows my mind. We will be back for that.

Cheesesteak sandwich: I could smell the amazing flavor before I even bit in—SO good! The meat is tender, it was not a disappointment in any way.

Oatmeal pie: I had never had an oatmeal pie before. I was happily surprised and enchanted with it. It’s VERY sweet and very delicious. The texture where the caramel crystallizes on the bottom crust is heavenly. And the vanilla bean gelato had a very genuine vanilla bean flavor to it, a perfect pairing with the pie.

Peanut butter mousse: not very sweet so it’s richness really comes from the flavor of the peanut butter and chocolate and not a bunch of extra sugar, which I liked. Very smooth and creamy. It was room temperature which surprised me for some reason, we decided to take it home and try it chilled.

Conclusion: we WILL be back. Excellent in every way. And the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating as well.

Best restaurant in Iowa City for any special occasion. The food is always excellent, servers are attentive & professional, and Orchard Green has a cozy environment. My family & I have come here now for over 10 years for all special occasions.

Easily one of the best high-end dining experiences available in Iowa City. Orchard Green has a pricey menu but offers excellent seafood platters you won't find anywhere else in the area. We've been lucky enough to get to go there several times, and every visit has been delicious. As the menu is seasonal, it's difficult to say exactly which dishes are best, but we've greatly enjoyed the shrimp and scallops, the arctic char (which has an incredible sauce filled with generous lobster chunks), and the Alaskan halibut. Every dish shows great attention to detail and heavy consideration of the small touches. Aside from the food, which should be more than enough reason to go, the atmosphere is semiformal but warm and inviting, the staff is extremely attentive and knowledgeable about each dish, and the drink menu has great depth. We love coming here and would recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or other big event.

I couldn't recommend this place more to passerby! The small plates I'm always excited over are the escargot and crab cakes, but if youre looking for more, try the Arctic Char! Plus their cocktail game is on point- order the Nocturne for something subdued and potent or the Clandestine for a bitter and bracing end to the meal. The bartender Devon will absolutely solidify your experience anytime!
