The food, service, and ambiance were great! Definitely planning on returning.

Our favorite place in town. The food is amazing. The setting is the perfect “hometown feel” in a big town. The service is great, we’ve never been disappointed and have been going here for years! Be sure to check out Pub Quiz on Sundays, which are also 2 for 1 pizza night. Besides the restaurant, there’s a great music space in the back for concerts and fundraisers- and they bring in a lot of amazing artists.

The food is amazing and you get it really fast, especially for lunch. Great prices and a much bigger selection than most places. Very cozy inside. Staff makes you feel welcome. Outside patio area is really nice when the weather is good and they have a large staging area and another large bar in the back where live music events happen all the time. Overall its great place to eat or hang out whether you live in Iowa City or just visiting. A+

Strong local vibes and very friendly staff, which makes for a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is varied but they stick to what they know, so what they do, they do well. Awesome beer selection, good mixed drinks, seasonal cocktails. They host some of the best shows and events (comedy, music, significant sports and political events, their own parties) in Iowa City. I love it, it's my go-to spot.

LATE NIGHT FOOD!!! ❤ We were driving around Iowa city looking for a place to eat; everything closes at 9pm; we didn’t want another burrito so we went to The Mill. I ordered a dirty vodka martini which was PERFECT! The atmosphere is so great! I hope they don’t ever change the decor. I felt like I was transported back into how things were in the late 70s early 80s. Bathroom stalls have graffiti which just makes the world feel ok. It’s like a friendly silent conversation. (Who is Morgan!!?) We are definitely going to be regulars ❤❤ Sometimes you just don’t want to eat in the new 10 story building—you want the comfort of the perfect past

When I first walked into this place, I thought to myself, oh gosh, I’m right back in the 90’s. But I gave it a chance and it was wonderful. Had the spaghetti and it was delicious. Get it with the meatballs, they’re house made. Quiet, calm vibe in the front section. Great for a chill Monday night dinner.

Had to wait a bit to be seated but it was worth the wait. They mix drinks very nicely here and there's free jazz shows in the back at certain times. Try the fish and chips for dinner its really good.

Food is always great, has good vegetarian options. It's a fun atmosphere and lovely to sit outside during the summer. Also fun for live music in the full-service stage area. Only complaint is service is very slow

Favorite bar in the downtown area - the staff is just down to earth fun people plus the drinks are great. Some of the best shows and performances you will find in here. Seriously, even the kareoke nights are full with talented Local people. Go visit!

Lots of live music! A great place to take in a show. They do a pub quiz too. They have a nice beer garden in warmer weather. They also have lots of beer on tap. The menu is surprisingly large with good sandwiches, burgers, pizza, cazones, and salads. They do have a kids menu too. They also deliver.

Part of Iowa City's "must-experience" list. An age-old town favorite; the front is well-laid out with a good view of the nearby outside seating area. The back is a common event space with loads of seating.
The atmosphere is very friendly, especially to society's underdogs. Food is terrific in preparation and variety; many fun and delicious choices, with kitchen staff that love experimenting.

Never visit Iowa City without trying one of their specialty mixed drinks, or special food items.

We dined in the front room in a Monday evening. It was small and not very busy. The service was great. We had the Chicharones (fresh pork rinds, some still popping) to start and they were good. They had some heat, which I love but definitely hit my compadre by surprise who doesn't do much heat. I also like the dipping sauce. The heat was in the spices on the pork rinds themselves, so maybe you could ask them to go light on the seasoning if you don't do heat.
I also had the Cobb salad. I'm not docking stars because the flavor was good and the salad was filling. It was missing the egg and was a little lite on the greens.
The food came fast, and the waiter/bartender checked in frequently.

The Mecca of all of University of Iowa's theatre majors. They have great burgers, good (cheap) drink selection, nice pizza, and even better calzones. Everything is affordable. They have open mic nights and very intimate shows in the back- I saw the Civil Wars perform right up close back when I was in college. Going to the Mill after graduating is like finding favorite pair of old shoes under a pile of laundry and feeling an extreme sense of comfort for the first time in a long time when you put them back on. I miss bars like this.

One of our favorite places to go for as long as I can remember. Pretty good food and a good beer selection. The vegetarian lasagna is a favorite. Comfortable venue for live bands and comedy shows.

Went here for a concert. Would go back. Great food, very friendly wait staff and bartenders. The room where the show took place was very intimate, had seating and standing room. However, plenty of seats and space.

Food was excellent! The waitress was super friendly and helpful. I had the wings and they were some of the best I have had in a long time. The onion rings were also some of the best I have had. Great experience!

It isnt a trip to IC without swinging into the mill for one of their many craft beers on tap or some live music in the back. Good food, friendly staff and overall an excellent place for many occasions. Came here for new years 2015 and it was lit.

One of the best music venues in Iowa City. They have a lot of interesting artists come through. Some good appetizers and foods. This place is known for bar food and as a cornerstone of the Iowa City music scene. They also have some political events here from time to time: fundraisers, things like that
