What a delightful cafe. The ambience is very artsy, youthful and warm. Great place for reading, writing, or catching up with friends. The coffee was EXCELLENT and we loved the breakfast sandwiches. The staff was lovely, and it was refreshing to see how affordable their prices were. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Des Moines.

It is our favorite spot for two years now, I love the immigrants welcome sign they have in 3 languages on the window, it make us feel home every time we are there, the Vegan Reuben and grilled tempeh are our favorites on the menu.

I love coming here on the weekends and whenever I have the chance in before this places closes. The place is so cozy and the atmosphere is friendly as well. The menus for the food, drink, and coffee is all so easy to read, unlike the scary lists I would see at other cafes where it’s an overwhelming choice. This place is perfect to come to just to unwind by yourself or with friends to have a chat. I see many people here just to work and it really brings the motivation. My only complaint is that they close on Sundays and Mondays, along with their hours closing at 2pm. But it’s always a treat whenever I do come from time to time.

Every employee was pleasant. Even though I was the only patron at the moment, they still made me feel welcome and special. Food was delivered quickly and hot and fresh and delicious. Make sure to check out this hidden gem. I am not a coffee/tea drinker but I am sure their beverages are too notch as well!

Well I just popped in and grabbed a tall double latte after the gal at the Allspice downtown spice shop told me about this coffee shop, and felt like I had time warped over to Portland, Oregon, or downtown Seattle when I walked in. Superb tasting coffee, perfect froth, and artistically finished. The ladies there were very friendly, and I loved the international flair. This is very cozy, and I learned they serve vegan food, even though I'm a carnivore, lol.

It wasn't easy to find, sort of tucked away down an obscure downtown side street, and it was all metered parking, so bring some loose change with you, but there wasn't a wait, it's well worth it, and it's a fun place to cool your heels with a friend while savoring a good cuppa Joe.

I don't usually go to vegetarian restaurants, but this place is great. The staff are incredibly kind, the environment is super cozy, and it just feels like a good cafe to grab breakfast and coffee and do a crossword puzzle. Feels like a great bookclub spot.

Very tasty and a great selection, especially if you are abiding by a vegetarian diet. There was cheese so not full vegan but I am sure some items will fit the mold. Coffee and lattes were excellent! I had the po boi and it was extremely tasty

Let me tell yall about this little gem we got to quickly (next time we will stay in!) got to check out today. WHY IT TOOK US THIS LONG IDK!! ALL the things...love all the things this whole place represents!!! GO CHECK IT OUT....U MUST. YOU ARE MISSING OUT if u don't. ALL VEGETARIAN menu, locally woman owned, amazing coffee, THE 👏🏼BEST 👏🏼 VIBE!! GO....now....you're welcome. OH and u can bring ur own cup because they love the planet😘🤗😍❤❤❤

I love a bit hippy type of vibe. They provided some comfort food but they are all so tasty!

My daughter and I have our tea time here. Very nice place. Customer service is welcome and accommodating. Last time I was there I got the berry evolution, delicious.

This place is incredible! The coffee and food are delicious and the atmosphere and energy are perfection! They have local art up all the time and you should definitely check them out!!

I love this place! People who work there are so friendly and kind. Food is delicious for a very reasonable price in single digits. I haven’t seen single-digit prices on a breakfast menu in a long time. Plants inside the cafe also create a calm vibe.

The most amazing coffee and food! Everything is vegetarian which I am not and neither is my boyfriend but we both got the most amazing sandwiches! I am also not a coffee lover it's my own issue but their coffee is to die for it's so good. I will be returning because the staff was also great. All around a nice place to eat and chill. They also had lots of local art displayed which is nice to look at while sipping coffee.

A great location with a view of downtown. I just had a cappuccino my first time here, small $3, but I will definitely be visiting this place more often. Looked like a good food menu also. It wasn't too busy and some some good tunes playing.

I’ve been several times and every time I’m beyond pleased with the food, the drinks, and most importantly the atmosphere. I always feel empowered and connected.
It’s truly a gem in the heart of Iowa.

Really great neighborhood spot, I can see why it’s so well loved by locals. Lots of seating options, great place to get work done with lots of outlet options and both breakfast and lunch offerings. And the coffee was great! All-around win here.

Amazing cafe. Excellent service. Immaculate vibes inside. The food / beverages are unmatched in the Des Moines area. I am so happy that I found this place. I will definitely be returning when passing through area and would recommend that anyone to do the same. Ritual Cafe is a gem.

For breakfast I normally get the yogurt and hemp granola bowl, it’s fantastic especially with honey and blueberries. Lunch favorite is their vegan reuben which has to be made with some sort of witchcraft.
