Beautiful park. Clean, well maintained, and safe. We enjoy the tennis court, baseball field, basketball court, the river, and trails. As well as the flowers and tons of old large shade trees. We grill here quite often and have never had trouble finding space, even on busy days. They have well maintained play equipment and a splash pad for the littles as well as a nice skate park across the street for the older kids.

I really enjoy coming here to get my mind off things and go for walks. Also a great spot to play tennis, basketball, and other activities. Tons of space to do whatever you want. I also enjoy taking photos here! It's so beautiful.

I had an Iowa State University club event here at the Maple Shelter.

The shelter was clean and the grills worked out nice! I liked the serving area as well. The renting process was also easy. The park also has quite a few amenities. I also like how shaded/woodsy it is. Would recommend!

Just enough space for everything you could think of- play equipment, jogging, get together in the shelter. We're so lucky to have such a spacious and beautiful park

This park is a gem. Walking trails, bathrooms, two shelters, three playgrounds, sand volleyball, a little library, a splash pad for kids under 6 (only during certain hours, cost $1.) My oldest was frustrated that the playgrounds seemed to be all for kids age 7 and under (no monkey bars or climbers) but she was plenty entertained with the big fire truck. My four year old loved all the playgrounds. I love the wide open spaces, the shade, and the abundance of parent benches and picnic tables. The garden with he inuksuk is also very cool, and my oldest likes to wander through it.

I love going to brookside Park in town. Lots of trees and open grass to do many things. I like the fact that they have a multi use path going through it from South 4th Street all the way to 13th Street (which goes through the park. There is all so plenty of wildlife to hear. You can find squirrels, birds, an old fire engine, playground for the kids, and flowers(depending on the season).

Just an overall pleasant place to play Frisbee, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, kick a soccer ball around, play baseball on one of it's 3 fields that formerly belonged to the high school, or let your kids have fun on the playground or just running around.

There is a river that goes through the park as well.

Great park to spend your free time, either for recreation or to practice sports. Large gazebos for more people, grills, water and electricity available. A lot of shades to hide from the sun in summer. Skate park and water park nearby. Nice flowers every time.

We've been going to Brookside when we were kids. Every time we went we had to see the fire truck. Now we are blessed to have 3 and 4 generation pictures taken on it and on the foot bridge. Brookside will always have a special place in the hearts of our family.

Scenic, was a beautiful day so we took our dogs for a long walk in May. We have a husky puppy and german shepherd adult. We had never been down there before so it was an adventure for all of us. Not many people surprisingly, clean and tidy. Will go again during nice days Im sure

We grew up at this park and it was nice to bring our kids here for a visit so that they can experience the same fire truck that was there when our parents were kids 60 years ago

We love this park with all of it's mature trees and beautiful greenery. There are some nice paved trails as well as a few less-traveled ones that wander through the woods. A great place to just hang out and relax, or reserve one of the shelters and have a great outdoor get together. And don't miss the firetruck, it's always a favorite with the kids!
