Twisted Bean Coffee Company

On my way from Eastern Iowa to Kansas City and made this a stop and stretch to get some work done for about an hour.

Looked packed in the parking lot, so parked in the back. Plenty of parking and foot to enter there.

A lot of seating options inside. Very large wrap around area. Great service. I’ll definitely swing off the interstate for this in future trips.

Really cute, spacious coffee shop with delicious coffee and breakfast sandwiches. They had lots of options to choose from for drinks and food, easy to customize as well! Very friendly staff and overall great experience! We will definitely be returning!

Stairs at front entrance, no stairs at the back entrance.

Iced Marshmallow Macchiato ($5.25) was wonderful.
Chocolate covered espresso bean ($2.95) were fresh. Homemade Granola ($7.00) - excellent!

The store has easily accessible restrooms, many tables and a lot of room to spread out.

Just passing through, but coffee, food, and staff were all great! Would definitely make it a regular stop if I lived in the area.

Fantastic local coffee shop in Des Moines! Went here with the family and it was great. I got the caramel maple scone and a chai latte with almond milk.

The folks who took our orders were very nice. Highly recommend this place if you're visiting!

Certified coffee snob here! Their coffee is so good (I got a latte with Cinnamon and Honey) and my boyfriend got their caramel crunch frappe. Excellent food, coffee & service!

Twisted Bean coffee is located is an unsuspecting, isolated lot on Merle Hay Road - but dont let that deter you.

The interior is beautifully and sophisticatedly decorated with a good choice of tables, booths and high chairs to choose from. It is perfect for socializing, studying or working. Not the greatest outdoor seating however.

Their chai was great and they had a great selection of breads and pastries.

Highly recommend if you are in the area!!

The Twisted Bean is absolutely the best local coffee shop in central Iowa. They always have great customer service and the flavor and aromas from the espresso are just good kicks the Stuff out of Starbucks!!!

I meet clients here often and there is always room to sit and prompt service. The coffee is excellent and they have a variety of other options to suit any palette. A picture of the menu is included in this post. The only thing I wish they had was more outlets and /or charging stations on the tables. There are a couple of spots where you can access an outlet, but I often end up having to move at least once to snag an outlet spot when somebody gets up and leaves. Overall it's a nice quiet place to meet or to get some work done. They also have a meeting room if you are in need of a larger quiet space

Stopped here by chance while passing through and had their specialty blended Carmel crunch frappe and it was delicious! Drink was blended perfectly without a bunch of ice chunks! Staff was quick friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this coffee shop. Will definitely stop again if in the area.

It's an excellent place to spend some time working and enjoying a great coffee... I had to work in a presentation for about 2 hours and didn't want to get distracted at home, so I did it at the Twisted Bean Coffee (Merle Hay) and it was the perfect decision. Great coffee, relaxing environment and superb service! Totally worth it!

I’ve only been here a few times at this point, but I am very impressed. It’s hard to find a place that will make a proper London fog that tastes amazing, and they do a great job. And top tier breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. Who needs the big name when these guys are here.

Coffee is so good tried it for the first time last week and loved it. Everyone is super nice there!! Def my new spot

My favorite drink is the dirty chai latte, but all are great! The staff is always friendly and my dogs love to get a pup cup when we drive thru!

Twisted Bean is my absolute favorite coffee house in all of Des Moines! They have an amazing staff that will remember you and your favorite drink. Not to mention their food is freshly homemade when you order it. This place is my go to any day of the week!

Stopped by to satisfy my wife's afternoon fresh coffee hankerin' and my sweet tooth...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! The orange cranberry scone and Jitterbug blended drink hit my spot like a gold medal Olympian archery champ! Great ambiance too!
