Tavern 180

Absolutely loved it. One of the best servings of fish and chips I've had in a long time. Our waitress was happy that we were there. That is hugely important for the overall experience.

Great food and service. We split an appetizer and a main dish. Very careful with my foos allergies.

This place was a very cool surprise. We were looking for a place we haven’t gone before in Ankeny and this was amazing!! The drinks, the food, and the service all top notch!! Highly recommend!! Our waitress Riaanna was a superstar!!!

We’ve been here 3 times and have had great experiences & meals each time! It’s a little small, so there could be a wait and there isn’t much space for waiting, but there is bar seating as an option as well. Delicious food!

I was traveling to Iowa for work and me and some coworkers stopped by. The food was great and our waitress was amazing. She provided awesome service, was very helpful, and helped us out when we couldn't find an Uber. I can't recommend this place enough and that you leave the staff a huge tip..shout out to the best waitress there ever was.

Wonderful! Took our extended family here for the first time. My husband and I both had the pork and it was the best pork we’ve ever had. Super nice waitress, very helpful too. I am unable to eat dairy and gluten and she made sure my food was perfect. Everyone had fun and delicious drinks (some with dry ice). It was really a great time and our whole family enjoyed it.

I don’t think I can say enough about the enjoyable experience I had at Tavern 180. Upon arriving, we did not know it was open. The restaurant looks closed until you go in. The atmosphere and music selection was absolutely great. We ordered martinis, food, and dessert and nothing disappointed. We spoke with the owner, who was extremely friendly, about things to do in the area. We appreciated his honesty and you could tell it was his genuine opinion and not the “Iowa Nice” everyone gives. We will be back and plan on making Tavern 180 a go-to for drinks.

Myself and my fiance wanted to go out for a relaxing dinner. We chose Tavern 180 and we could not have had a better experience. We started off with the jalapeno, bacon brussel sprouts and they were amazing! You seriously have to try these. They are not spicy at all. Just delicious. Our waitress, from beginning to end, was personable, knowledgable and professional. She did an amazing job for us. The owner stopped by to see how things were going for us and we discovered that we both were from Omaha (small world). He bought our dessert for us and I have to say, I have had few desserts that were as good as the butter cake. Do yourself a favor and just get it. I had the Mardi Gras Pasta and it did not disappoint either. My fiance had the fish and chips and she said it was delicious as well. Very simply, if you are looking for great food, excellent service and a relaxing evening, go to Tavern 180. You will not be disappointed.

Nice place. More expensive than most places around it, but very clean and nice. Food was great. Had the Mardi Gras Pasta. Service was great. As soon as my water was empty, she refilled it. Drink was tasty. Had the Salted Watermelon Mule by recommendation. Not a place to make a regular watering hole, but a nice option for a dinner.

We arrived to the restaurant and almost drove off thinking they were closed. There were no signs of life from outside. It appeared they were closed and all the lights were off. The only thing that made us pause was questioning why there were a few cars in the parking lot. Against my better judgement I decided to walk up to the door and check it. To my shock the door was open and it was even quite bright inside. The window tint is the darkest product I have ever seen, it might even be completely opaque. You can't see in or out through the windows. I'm afraid they might be losing a lot of business after dark due to this. I would suggest adding an open sign or changing the window tint product.

Our visit was everything we expected and beyond. Drinks were carefully crafted and very good. The food was delicious and creative. They don't have a large menu but I'm guessing they probably do everything on the menu very well. Our server was perfectly attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant is not very big, definitely has an intimate feel. We will gladly return again and again.

Exceeded my expectations for dining standards at every level. Service was top notch, and the menu had variety without being overwhelming. The food was well plated; and the preparation, quality, and flavors of the food were compatible to excellent fine dining in larger metropolitan areas. Well done on all counts. An absolute dining must if you live in the greater Des Moines area.

Great food and atmosphere, even down to the music! Prices reasonable for the quality. My mango bubbly martini and salmon with Asparagus risotto were delicious! Service was fast and friendly.

Menu offerings were good, cocktail and beverage choices were good, food was delicious, staff was attentive and customer service was great!

Absolutely amazing place to eat and relax! Our waitress, Shira was the sweetest and never skipped a beat. Our drinks were always full, food was delicious, and we will definitely return!

First time we were there, but it won't be the last! Excellent food and good service. Extensive wine and cocktail list. The place is small, so definitely get a reservation. If you're in the Ankeny area, definitely check them out!

A hidden gem in north Ankeny. The staff is super friendly, especially the manager Eddie. Tasty food and the happy hour prices are hard to beat in the Des Moines area!

I will say I didn't think the prime rib was worth it, but the pork chops, brussel sprouts, potatoes, and the cake were 10/10 👌 I also agree with some others, it looked closed until we got the inside door open, but rest assured, it's open (=

Fantastic food!! Great menu options. Have eaten to go multiple times, but tonight was our first time at the restaurant. The atmosphere was great, and drinks were fantastic!
