Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

The food was good and fresh but the best part of my interaction was with the drive through dude. He was super friendly and personable and helpful! I got his name, it’s either Mark Cook, or Matt cook, but he just needs to be recognized for outstanding customer service.

This is the best eating out experience we have had in a long time. The staff was really friendly and helpful. A gentleman recommended on of the hot sauces and it was so delicious. The lobby and bathrooms were really clean. Wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often.

While traveling through DesMoines I had to make a pit stop for some food. I’ve always been a KFC kinda guy, always sticking with the
Products and companies I’ve come to know and enjoy.

Well I hate to tell the Colonel this but he’s been busted down in rank to Corporal.

The food at Popeyes was GREAT! The cleanliness of the restaurant … impeccable! As far as the customer service they get 5 stars as well very friendly and going above and beyond a simple customer transaction to making me feel comfortable.

Spoke with the manager Greg and he knew his business as well. I come from an extensive restaurant background n he knew his stuff and where to focus his strengths in guiding his team.

Hands Down, The BEST CHICKEN OUT THERE!! The staff and General Manager (Zach) were polite and happy. Even though the line at Drive Thru was AROUND THE BUILDING 😇

This review is for an employee named Connie at this location.

Typically people go through the hassle to write a review due to a negative experience. This is not one of those reviews.

Today I brought a co-worker who has never had a Popeye's chicken sandwich in to experience it for the first time. Since this was his first experience, I ordered the new classic blackened chicken sandwich (phenomenal by the way...I dare even say better than the original classic!) and he ordered the spicy blackened sandwich.

We split the sandwiches in half so he could try both to see what he liked better. Shortly after doing this, an employee named Connie came out to talk to us asking how we looked the new sandwiches and let us know she was the one who made them. We proceeded to tell her this was his first time ever trying a sandwich here and we were taste testing them to see which we liked better.

Connie replies "I'll be right back".

To our surprise Connie returned with two different sandwiches for us to try as well! This caught us off guard but this small act of kindness quickly not only made our day but made this a very memorable moment.

Now I'm not saying everyone should go here and expect to get something free, I've been to this location a few times and this is the first time this has ever happened, but today's world is filled with so much hate and critique, acts of kindness like this are appreciated and the folks who do them should be recognized.

The world could use more Connie's and less Karen's.

Don't know about the atmosphere but everything else makes it my go-to chicken stop. Waaaaay better than the KFC

Had a money machine error when I walked in but the manager took care of me and I really appreciate the customer service thank you so much .!

There was a mix up on my first order. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager Skylar. She was sincere and went above and beyond to get it fixed for us. She even thanked me for allowing them to fix things. I appreciate that so much! Also the food was great and fresh.

We needed a quick bite while passing through Des Moines. The line in the drive thru was super long so we went inside. It was fast and the food was great at this location, much better than others. The service shined and that is not very common at fast food joints anymore. Top notch. Both employees that helped us should train restaurant staff everywhere. Better customer service than restaurants charging 10x the price for dinner. Wish I remembered the names on their name tags to better thank them in my review.

Unfortunately, brand like popeyes should care about there atmosphere, food quality. The place we went to it's dirty and self service machine no ice and no soda the drink come just with flavor. Guys you need to be more keen to keep your place clean and neat.

The MOST underrated fast food restin the area! I’m glad it’s not closer or I’d gain 100lbs because I’d be here at least three times a day. My last visit I chatted with the manager at the window while my food cooked (because they always make their food FRESH) and she was the most friendly person I’ve come across in this type of establishment EVER. I LOVE the spicy chicken sandwich- for once I’ve found a place that actually makes their food spicy! I can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s a staple. It’s a must try. If you haven’t been, you must!

No place is perfect, but their food is delicious and their customer service is great! I see a lot of other very low reviews and I am wondering if they had spoken to their manager Skyler who is very professional and understanding, she goes the extra mile in order to make things right.

Quite possibly the worst service I've ever seen in the fast food industry ever. With that being said, going inside of the building waiting a half an hour for two sandwiches was never more exhilarating in my entire life. Multiple storylines developed in front of us from the cashier going to the bathroom but the cook in the back thought she was in her car so they clocked her out. Then she came back and was forced to clock back in but her drawer was wrong so she still couldn't take her order. Then the manager came over to the front. Asked us what we wanted. Didn't put anything into the register and gave us drink cups. We sat and drank our sodas watching as more arguments dispersed in the kitchen and I overheard a drive-thru worker said she was" sweating like a Hebrew slave". It was quite literally the shortest half an hour of my entire life. Finally, the manager however replaced the drawer in the cashier took our order. We paid and we went outside, only to find that we were missing a sandwich. In short, if you want food, go through the drive-thru. It's significantly faster and a lot less issues( actually more often than that we found we had more food as multiple of orders have ended up giving us extra). But if you want the true Popeyes experience and aren't starving, I would 100% recommend going in the front and waiting the 45 minutes to find out what's going on in the Popeyes at Merle Hay.

Excellent place with a friendly and respectful service experience. It's clean as well.
