Copper Creek Lake Park

Truly an easy walk with lots of benches.
I'm recovering from many surgeries and health issues and love the security of knowing no matter where I am on the path, I am close to a bench if I need it. ☺
Also, my pup, Mr Bean, must sniff EVERY lamppost! And chase every duck and goose. He absolutely loves the park and knows it by sight 🐶🐕

It is a beautiful lake to walk on a summer evening. There is also a 16mile trail at this park. It is clean and there are ample seating areas along the lake and the pathway. Definitely a good place to visit in Iowa.

We really enjoyed the walk around the lake while visiting Des Moines. There were a diverse group of folks obviously enjoying the park.

Nice 20 minute loop around the lake. Pretty flowers next to the path. Geese and ducks nearby making the hike adventurous. Would go back.

Nice park it’s definitely nice to walk around and if you get hungry or thirsty there’s a place called the cove right by the like where you can go get a good drink (non alcoholic) or a snack and no I don’t work for them I just really like there stuff but there’s also trails off of the lake you can explore so it’s pretty nice get away for some peace

Great place for runners, children and pet lovers. Fishing spots and walking path all around the lake. They have swing-benches around the walking trail.

I go here to walk the trail around the lake on the weekends. It is one mile around the lake. It is a very flat trail with a very, wide paved trail. The lake has many ducks. The Iowa DNR stocks it with game fish. There are usually fishermen along the edge of the lake. Anyone can launch a non-motorized licensed canoe or fishing boat on the lake from a gently sloping boat launch ramp. The lake is a city park which is free for anyone to use. There us a large free parking lot in the South side and a second parking lot the North side of the lake.

Well managed lake and path. Restrooms, playground, parking. You can walk down to the creek from a spot on the west side of the path. Has a wading bridge,.swings, and benches.

Clean, great atmosphere. Love taking my dog Sativa on a walk here!

Wonderful walking trail. The paved bike trail around the lake is about 1.25 miles. It is always kept clean. Recent flooding took it out of commission for about a week. However the park staff is so good that it is already up and running. Nice place to walk. Lots of geese and Ducks to watch. However they can be a nuisance to watch where you walk. People come here from early in the morning as early as 5 to late in the evening. Very safe and a good place for families and children. Pets are okay but must be on a leash. Motor boats not allowed in the lake.

One of our favorite parks! Walking trail with plenty of shade on one side. Docs to fish. Great jungle gym and swings. Dog friendly. Plenty of picnic tables!

Full moon tonight. Cool how the snow blankets the lake except for where the water is still warm enough for ducks and geese to enjoy.

Nice trail, clean surrounding, kid friendly park, plenty of seating area, and love watching the ducks along my walk.

Love to take the wife and kids on a nice day in my sleepy town of Pleasant Hill.

Access to multiple bike paths connecting you to the east side, Altoona or pleasant hill. Great path around the lake. Easy access for kayaks and a wonderful view for something so close to home.

I love walking around the lake but don't get out as much as I should. Great walking path, geese in and out of the water, accommodates both bicyclists and walkers. Clean park and dog owners do a good job of cleaning up after their dogs, for the most part.
