The food was amazing! We got the mix plate. Took a while to finish, but the food was great and unique. Full of flavor and the gentleman at the counter was super nice and even gave us a complimentary sweet for the wait. Will be back.

The food was amazing! Absolutely delicious!
We had the sampler as we wanted to try everything. There was not one thing that my wife or I considered "the best" it was all great. It takes a little while to prepare, i thnk it was about 15 minutes, but ot was all made from scratch minus the lamb as it is a rotisserie. Well worth the wait. Definitely will return.

We've walked by this place dozens of times, and never saw anyone around. This Saturday, we decided to ring the bell, and sure enough, a helpful gentleman appeared, and my wife and I ordered two entrees (a shawarma and a kebab).

There was only one person working, and he explained that it would take 20 minutes to get our food, but we were in no hurry. It actually ended up taking some time longer than 20 minutes, but the gentleman running the shop let us know, and apologized profusely.

When we got our food, it was well worth the wait. both dishes were delicious. Everything was fresh, hot, and tasted great. My wife commented that she could eat the chicken kebab every day.

My family loves Mediterranean food, and this is some of the best I've had in the area. It's hard to compete with Vietnam Café, just across the food court, which has great, fresh food, ready almost instantly, but if you're looking for a break from Pho and Bahn Mi, check out Lazize. You'll be glad that you did.

This place is great all around! The guy at the counter, who I gather is the owner, was quite friendly and accommodating! He was patient as we asked about the different dishes. My wife and I split the mixed platter for $22 which also came with two drinks. We had enough that we had leftovers for dinner tonight. Everything was delicious and fresh. The falafel was the best I've ever had! Light and perfectly cooked. The hummus was delicious too! In speaking with the guy, he was very proud of just how fresh his food is and took pride in preparing it. If you like Mediterranean food, dont miss out on this place!

As an aside, he was gracious enough to teach me the word thank you in Lebanese. Chokran to you my friend!

This is a family business and they seem to be working hard to cook and make people feel welcome. The red hibiscus drink had an interesting flavor. I am sure that it does not cure all illnesses but it was good to try; 2 out of 3 of my kids finished the glass and the third one drank half and then he was not too sure about it. The chicken skewers and rice were good. My husband has a big appetite and he was not sure if it was enough food to fill his belly but he enjoyed the hummus, pita bread and skewers.

I will break this review down into three parts quality, staff, and experience.

The quality of the food was amazing it's a new experience the food is cooked very well and is light and airy. My tastebuds were sent to a far off place where the unique flavor of the well spiced food cant be compaired to anthing else I have had prior.

The staff was super friendly and very accepting of the fact I had no clue about their food and wanted me to have the best experience possiable.

The overall experience was a fantastic experience toped off with hibiscus drink that was such a pure great flavor

Superb seems too tame a word to describe this place.

They have a very simple menu. Just a few items.

We started with the hummus. It's not as thick as I am used to, and came with a fry bread rather than a simple pita. It has a very subtle taste to it and is very, very good. I'm not convinced about the fry bread, I will probably ask for straight up pita next time. That is my only fault in this place, and that is just a matter of what I like, the fry bread was very good.

We got the mixed plate, since we wanted to try a bit of everything. I believe we had two different kinds of chicken and the grilled lamb. We had a choice between bread or rice, we went with the rice.

One of the chicken dishes had a bit of heat to the spice, but just a bit. The others were spiced in a very delicate way.

Both veggies and meat had a nice bit of char to them, just enough to give it a bit of the flavor and texture that a good char brings.

The lamb was tender and very tasty. The chicken practically fell apart as we ate it. Both were delicious.

The rice was great, and complimented the meat and veggies very well. The tahini was very tasty, but I found myself not using it much because the food was so good on it's own.

We talked quite a bit to, I assume, the owner. He is from Sudan, and talked a lot about the differences in styles of the food that they served depending on where you are from. This was quite familiar, but still had some surprises, especially in the bit of heat on one of the chicken dishes.

My wife and I travel a lot, and we are always looking for places like this to eat. Funny that what is probably the best example is in a mall in the town where we both work.

This place is exceptional. Simple food served brilliantly. We will be back again and again.

Simple yet brilliant Mediterranean food. Located in the Local Eats area of the Mall.
The falafel plate is yummy.
Decent price. Very good customer service.
Key thing is falafel is not frozen and fried. Freshly made. New place, will definitely visit again!

This was possibly the best, most authentic middle eastern food I have ever eaten. Every dish was excellent from the meats to the falafel. Will be returning soon--Well done!

Simply excellent food and super friendly staff. It's easily worth it to drive across town and go to the mall just to get lunch here. The food is much better than 99% of the formal Mediterranean restaurants I've visited across the country.

When we first walked into the mall, we were excited to see a local Mediterranean restaurant in the food court. Upon a sample of the chicken from a very friendly owner, we were immediately taken by the depth of flavor. We were served shwarma, baba ganouch, hummus, and hibiscus drinks. Each was spectacular. The food, price, and service were all exceptional. So happy that more Mediterranean cuisine is coming to Des Moines. Thanks to restraunts such as Lazize, Des Moines continuing its amazing growth into a culinary metropolis. Enjoy!
