Maria's Mexican Food

Honestly, this place has some of the best Mexican food around. The drive through is open 24 hours. The dining room is also open late! Really, really good food!

It's impossible for us to come to Des Moines without stopping here. Glorious food, large portions, super late dine hours, 24 hour drive thru and a fantastic sauce bar inside. An absolute favorite for comforting, no frills mexican food with tons of flavor and guaranteed to fill you up.

Great pazolé on Friday and Saturday. Excellent food with a nice extras station. The men that run it are very friendly.

I didn’t eat inside so don’t know what it’s like. I ordered thru the drive, I had no issues the only problem I had was the wait time time, I did ordered the super nachos and the beef burrito so understand the 18 minute wait time. The food was delicious. I would definitely go back and eat here again. The staff was nice and polite.

Love this place! It has quickly become our go to place. Never a let down! The adobada pork is amazing as well as many other menu items 😋 Definitely recommend 👌

Best Carne Asada Burritos in town!
Big burritos under $10 and filled with a ton of steak! Not filled with everything plus the kitchen sink with only 2 scoops of steak. If you want more bang for your buck this is the place for you! BURRITOS THE SIZE OF A BABY LEG! WILL be back as often as I can get to that side of town.

The food was good but the real story here is the guy working at the new ankeny location. I’m not sure what his title is but he seems to be the manager/ chef/ cashier/ waiter. Just an absolute jack of all trades. You do have to wait a little for the food but it’s understandable. They are open late 6 days a week up until 2 am on most nights. Good food, highly recommend!

For just 2 workers for the night shift they are running a tight ship, very fast with delivery of orders and fair prices will keep people coming back!

4pm on a Monday. I got in an ordered chicken tacos #25 or#26 from menu authentic Mexican food that I've only had when I was in Mexico! Hurried home to eat it also came with rice an beans on the side with 2 sauces red and green chili they didnt skimp on the chicken it was fresh and very filling. Ate 1 taco an had 1 for a late night snack! I was so expressed with this hidden secret Mexican restaurant! Which is tucked along the side of Douglas ave across the street from Sherman Williams paint store!

Service was amazing, the food even better! They run a touch slower then your average fast food joint, but my God is it worth it! Fresh, fabulous, flavorful, and fantastic! The gentalman working the drive through window was super polite and on it about getting us what we needed. I will def eat there again, and again!

Maria's is our go-to for excellent, affordable, fast Mexican takeout on a weeknight. Way better than Chipotle down the street - in price and flavor! Large portions!

A main stay in my Des Moines restaurant rotation. Great variety of burritos for a late night bite, mid day meal, and get taquitos for a snack. Im excited to try the breakfast too. Sometimes it takes a little extra time but always worthy the wait

Great food, great prices, great variety. Love seeing this place open when I pass by. I get breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I have done both drive through and dine in.
