Bates Park

I took my daughter and my nephew here to play one afternoon in the splash pad. This park is located in my sister's neighborhood, on the corner from her house. There were no other children but them playing in the park on that particular day and while they were having fun initially eventually they started to get bored with the lack of other children and slowly lost interest, even with the water still flowing and splashing around them. There were swings and other playground equipment for them to play on but soon enough the kids asked me to take them to another park that had more play equipment, trees and other children for them to play with so around the block we went to another park my nephew claimed would be better, and in the end was better than this small park. If you have a toddler I think this would be an excellent place to play but ages 4 and up probably will loose interest quickly into playing like mine did. Glad we went and checked it out though.

It's such a lovely little peaceful Park in the middle of my hood, and the City! A deer came running through while we were there!

Update... has a grill now but you may have to tussle with the unhoused to use it...

Nice park for kids to run and play. My grandson loves the sprayground and playground. It has picnic tables, charcoal grills, a basketball court and shelter... Would be better if it was closed instead of open shelter.

Park is so nice with a sprinkler pad next to it, some shade and great basketball areas too. Sadly when we went to the sprinkler area was down for some work, we will have to return!
FYI...Would go in a group as there was a homeless camp down in the trees

Great place to cool down in the summer with the mini water park.

Disappointed that there was so much trash lying around. But my grandchild loved it!
