Des Moines Water Works Park

My favorite concert venue in Des Moines now. Also great place for photography.

The family met at Water Works Park shelter for a Sunday hot dog roast and an afternoon of shooting model rockets in the field. The park was active with others flying model planes, walkers, bikers, skaters, and those just enjoying the beautiful fall day. It was great to see the park enjoyed by so many people and of all ages.

A runner and bicyclists delight! Lots of flat, paved surfaces and a number of loops to add up the miles. The music stage is a wonderful venue for a concert. Plenty of water fountains as well. Ample parking.

Overall not alot to see here but a great place for athletes to get in some miles.

Nice place in the middle of town. I am guessing the amphitheater has some great shows. Some nice little fishing and picnic areas all around. Would be a great place to take the kids for lunch and some adventures. There is a public restroom and drinking fountains, but would bring your own just in case. Will be back.

This is a very special place in Des Moines as it can be many things to many different people. Long walks, stress relief, back to nature, enjoy the lake, meet other people, ride your bike, do some kayaking, walk your dog, sit and relax, have a picnic, watch the sunrise or sunset, do a little fishing, have a party, or enjoy some local music. You can enjoy many things at no cost, all you need to do is show up.

Water works is absolutely beautiful parks to take a family too. Alot of locations in there to take photos, have a picnic or barbecue🙌 Absolutely beautiful check it out

I enjoy walking off the paths and exploring. I'm still new to Iowa, and I just recently found this spot across from Gray's Lake.

Love this place.

Went on a gorgeous walk with the kids. Everyone was super understanding of my little ones and just a general positive vibe was felt. Going to picnic soon. Great trail over the bridge and next to the river.

My g son is from out of town and had the best time with his cousin at the park. I also ho to listen to some live music. It was such a relaxing time for us all!

Love the fact Irish Run horse farm is on the walking trail... always pleasure to see the horses. Only minus about Water Works, need a few more restroom stops.

Beautiful, calm, great place for meditation, breath, relaxing and have fun, great for anti stress oh by the way, fishing is permitted :)

This is a beautiful very large park that has a lot to offer there are tons of great little spots to discover and with the new underground tunnel that will connect you to Grays lake its really a fun place to check out

The trails in and around Water Works Park near Downtown Des Moines were full of activity. The perfect blend of nature and activity.

We had a wonderful time at Water Works Park! There are lots of fun trails to hike on, and lots of paved bike paths too. We had our 4 and 2 yr olds with us and they loved exploring. We participated in the Eggstraordinary clean up event, and found several stunning glass eggs. Go like the water works park facebook page so you don't miss out on next years glass egg hunt!
