I am pretty crazy and I get my hair braided regularly. #1) it is stupid for people to expect that folks working are expert in all aspects . #2) the people are very nice and appropriate ly helpful.#3) before buying ANYTHING ANYWHERE be acquainted with the refund policy. You is YOUR responsibility. #4) the selection of hair for MY purpose is extensive and varied #5) they have very good prices #6) I am clear about what I want SPECIFICALLY vis a vis length , color and type BEFORE I shop. #7) those people who gave this place a bad review ought to look at themselves #8) good customer=good service #9) I wouldn't go anywhere else!

The place had a lot of selection that surprised me. The workers were very nice and courteous whenever I had a question. The prices for what I was trying to buy were reasonable. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the Des Moines area trying to buy their beauty supplies!

I was worried after reading the reviews about poor customer service but I'm glad we went. They had a great selection and though some of the units were sold out/not available in certain colors, the staff was very helpful! They even would go in the back to try and find close alternatives to one's that weren't available. We spent a good hour in the store and never felt disrespected, or followed around... they didn't hover but were very available when we had questions or wanted to check the availability of a unit. There was a storm that rolled through and they let us hang out inside until it passed. We don't live in the area but if we're ever here again, we'll be back! Highly recommend!

First I would like to say is this store is amazing! The girls were happy to help, educate, and pick the perfect wig for me. I am going through a hair grow out and a faux hawk in awkward stage is just that, awkward. I came to Mid k just to see what they had and the selection was amazing. Rows of synthetic, blend, and human hair wigs to choose from. I went with the outre perfect hairline cheyenne, but I want to say is these girls were the best. They listened to my concerns, the reason I wanted a wig and then helped me find some selections I would like. They actually listened to my needs, concerns, and crazy questions I had. Thank you mid k for all your help! I will be back!

This best well stocked beauty supply store in town. They have things reasonably priced and have more African American products to select from locally. They require masks to shop in their store but I don't mind they have such huge selection from hair products to skin care. If your a woman that likes to color her hair they have HUGE selection plus all the hair protection products to maintain your hair. They even have wigs and nail salon stuff. They have stuff for kids women and men. You just need to visit sometime .

I have seen alot of negative reviews. But I went anyway to see how I would fare. The ladies were so nice and helpful. I didn't encounter a single rude person. So before you count them off as being jerks just go in with a good attitude yourself and be friendly. Seemed to work for me. Bought my beautiful wig. Great prices!

I’ve never had a bad experience here! They are always super kind to me and my girlfriend and are always willing to help us find what we’re looking for as well as educate us if we have questions. We go there a lot for photo shoot props and though we both have naturally straight hair we’ve found products we both love there. The quality of hair for the price is the best in town.

My grandmother got a haircut and the stylist practically shaved her head. She cried for hours so I offered to buy her a wig to try to ease her pain. I'm not sure of the woman's name but she went out of her way to help me find wigs in the style and color my grandma wanted and helped me decide on everything I would need. It was nice to see my grandma smiling again! THANK YOU!

They must've cleaned up their act because they helped me just fine. As for other customers making fun of you, honey i can see your profile photo, this store is primarily for black/African American women. Yes, they're going to look at you funny. They do me every time i go in as I'm white as can be. Ignore it like an adult or order online in your safe space.

I love their selection of $1 earrings and hair accesories. I buy my daughter's shampoo, conditioners, oils, etc. I always tell people to check out Mid-K when they compliment my earrings or my daughter's hair. I love their selection and shop there often. The staff is usually helpful and informative. They sell much more than just weave and wigs so I recommend to everyone :)

VERY GOOD QUALITY OF WHAT YOU NEED

I love mid k, reasons? I love make up. Even though My skills are average, I bought all kind of expensive make up,I spent a lot of the money on top brand names makeup. One day I went to Mid K bought eyeliner pencil, boy, what’s a difference between my $30 eyeliner to the $3 dollars eyeliner from Mid K. Thank you Mid K for saving me money!!!! The Cheapest price and best products ever!!!!
