The motor vehicle station was impressive. It was not overcrowded. The facility was well maintained. The cleanest public bathrooms I've been to. The bathroom was clean and actually smells pleasantly nice. The staff were friendly and courteous. Kieran was amazing. She got me in and our within minutes.

Honestly the people that work here do a great job. Visits to deal with bureaucracy can always be frustrating but Polk County’s treasurer’s office is amazingly well managed and efficient. Though it’s recommended to have an appointment (which are awesomely available and easy to make) you can also walk in for everything but title transfers. The wait times are updated live online if you’re busy - so when you have time can see if it’s fairly quick to get through the line.

Wait times are accurate in my experience, and everyone who has assisted me has been professional and easy to work with.

I can tell this office has made an effort to improve its customer service over the past 3 years. I usually use the online renewal service, but when we acquire a different vehicle I prefer to take the papers in person (as opposed to mailing or using the dropbox). This time I called ahead to ask questions about how to specifically complete the paperwork because one time prior I had to leave and return on a different day with the correct information/signatures.
I especially appreciated the ability to make an appointment online and use the check in process via text. I was able to see my place in line on my phone while I waited. The person helping me was friendly, conversational and patient. Your wait is proportional to the amount of time it takes the person(s) in front of you, but I did see a sign that said each appt is given a max of 15 minutes.
The only thing that could have been better was to have more windows open for the number of appointments there were so the wait is slightly shorter, but I believe my total time from check-in to leaving was about an hour or slightly less. Not bad.
Fyi, exiting the parking lot can eat up some time waiting for others ahead of you to pay and exit. I suggest parking on the street and using the ParkDSM app. It's actually cheaper per hour anyway.

I recently purchased a vehicle from out of state and there were some hiccups getting it registered here. Jenna went above and beyond my expectations. She located my docs, determined what had caused the delay, and promptly issued my registration. Thank you, Jenna!

Ali Ali is completely wrong I had Desi today and she was EXTREMELY helpful title transfer went very smoothly and she answered all my questions I can't imagine what you did to make it so difficult but you should probably be banned from reviewing anything since she was a delight through and through

I was afraid to call and ask my questions because the Google Reviews has them at only 3 stars out of 5, but the guy who helped me was friendly, efficient, and understanding. It definitely helped me with my anxiety regarding what I was asking about! The wait time was also reasonable.

My husband and I did a walk in today for a title transfer the wait was a little long but Valerie the lady who helped us made the wait all worth it! She was so amazing, friendly and happy. She set our mood for the entire day. You don’t friendly people like that much anymore! If Valerie happens to call your number you’re in luck! :)

Walk in on Friday afternoon to transfer title. Although there was a long wait, I had called earlier in the week to get details so I was prepared when I arrived.
Hint. If you need to call, call early in the morning to avoid a long hold.
Our service preson, Dennis, was helpful and efficient and the process was smooth.

Like all customer service businesses they are short handed and serve a large population.
They are efficient and hard working and try to provide good service.

Great customer service by Polk County vehicle folks; first woman (sorry did not get name) was SO helpful in answering questions When I went to complete request for appt for a friend, I was not doing something correctly and this time I talked with Zach for help. He was TERRIFIC! With his patient help, I got it filled out correctly and the appt is made. GREAT GREAT job!

Excellent experience that exceeded my expectations, needed to transfer two car titles / registration, and Donovan helped us out quickly, and was very kind and helpful! Got our titles, registration, and plates right then and there. Everyone we spoke with was very friendly! Read the requirements online, get your stuff together ahead of time, make an appointment, and you should be in good shape. Thank you all so much!!

Scheduling an appointment online was extremely easy and made the process much quicker than waiting and not knowing when I’ll get seen. Lynsi and Donovan, the two staff members that helped me, were exceptionally helpful and friendly!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Polk County Treasurer’s office. I went today and the experience was so positive. The person at Information Desk was helpful and friendly and there’s an app that you can access QR code so you can see your place in line. Person at the counter was also equally helpful. The wait was a little over an hour (went in at 9 am on a Tuesday), but with the app you can walk around or go outside and then just come back when it’s close to your turn. Good experience with a county office!

Just had a wonderful experience over the phone talking with a Polk County Treasurer employee!! Just checking on status of my title for a vehicle, and this lady took the extra time to look up my information and describe to me where there drop box is located at the building (since my call was a two question call!). She did NOT rush me off the phone and took the time to make sure I was satisfied with all of the questions that I had asked!! Just great experience when compared to the other times I was rudely rushed off the phone (over and over again!). I asked for this persons name, he name is Karen S. This department needs more employees like her!! FYI!!

They have a lot of information online about how they operate during covid times. Appointments are hard to get, but if you continually check back, new appointments open up as people make cancelations. I appreciate the safety measures they are making to keep their staff and the public safe. I was in and out within 15 min for my title transfer with no issues.

Make an appointment if possible. Things will go much more quickly. The clerks here work hard and do everything they can to get people out as soon as possible. Make sure you have done your homework and have all the required paperwork.

It was such a pleasant and stress-free experience. The entire process took me 12 minutes exactly! Starting from the staff person (Sherry) at the Info desk who was very friendly and helpful.. and up to a very professional, kind, and knowledgeable lady at the teller counter (Valerie/Window 13).
Please keep up the great training which you're giving to your employees in order to maintain such an excellent and professional service!

They are freaking fast in processing requests. I went there to transfer my title & registration from Kansas to Iowa. It took me more time to park outside than getting the work done inside.
Plates were handed to me directly then and there unlike Kansas where you get your plates mailed with in a week.

Showed up early and got in and out in 5-10 minutes. Just make sure you make an appointment if you're doing a title transfer
