Big Lake Park

Beautiful spot for a walk and time in the sun!

Very pretty place. Nice loop to walk around the medium size lake.

I love this lake! I especially love the trout stocking program the DNR does here in the fall and winter. Once the water gets cool enough to sustain trout they place them in the water and you can take up to five a day. They are tasty and fun to catch.

In the summer, the lake has a lot of panfish and bass, also I have seen some people take some decent sized catfish out of here.

There are also a ton of waterfowl such as pelicans, geese, and ducks that call the lake and the surrounding park home. Additionally, you can see muskrats, rabbits, frogs, and other creatures.

It is super close to Omaha and Council Bluffs and a great little natural area. I would highly recommend a visit.

It's really a little late. If you want to take a little walk or a very short bike ride, then it is perfect for children. Just watch out for the Iowa DNR idiot. He will come out there to harass you and give you a ticket if you don't have a fishing license.

Aside from the fact that there are rarely any times you'll actually catch any fish while casting your pole and the fact that there have been findings of human remains, I'd say that this Park has a lot to offer if you're looking for a peaceful and serene place to "get away".

It is so beautiful, and a perfect place to exercise and get fit for your summer outfits! One of the best places to get peace of mind and watch the animals.

Have gone every year for the trout release and this year the trout we're smaller. Smaller group gave us a better chance of catching something! Fully stocked now tho.

We love everything about this park. Great walking trail, you can feed ducks, watch trains and it has well kept equipment.

Breathtaking park, right in the middle of CB! Sat near the Big Lake during sunset on the 4th & watched the fireworks. It was beautiful! Highly, highly recommend!

Great place to walk your dogs. The ticks are bad right now around there! 5/09/2022! It has become a complete abandoned area in the back part by the tennis courts!! Over grown. Also two broken lots to park in!! Careful where u park. It might swallow your car!!
But the part by the park still looks nice and well maintained!! A lot of bird poop. Watch where u step!!
