There was an issue with my vehicle that I didn’t discover until well into the rental. After reaching out when I got home, the issue was resolved quickly by Heather, the manager.

PSA- most rental places don’t have the fact car you rented. Just prepare yourself emotionally for that.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!! The only options I was given for cars (and I had reserved a mid-size car months in advance) were a Tesla or a Ford Mustang. Since I had never driven a Tesla I chose the Ford. After driving to Lake of the Ozarks which took three hours, my mom (aged 83) and I could barely get out of the bucket seats. The next day I contacted a Budget establishment in a city closer to where we were staying - only one hour drive - and asked if I could swap the car for something different. I was told yes and drove the hour to exchange the car, only to find out that Budget KC airport is PRIVATELY OWNED????? And the budget establishment I had driven to had no records of the cars that are rented from there. I was given an 800 number to figure out what to do was told I had to call the Budget KC airport directly. When I asked what the phone number was for the airport budget I was given the same 800 number!!!! And was told that was the only number Budget had. OMG. Never again will I use this rental agency.

I made a reservation online and accidently clicked I would be returning the car to a different city. When I arrived in Kansas City I spoke with the woman at the front desk and we discovered my mistake, I said I will definitely be returning the car to the Kansas City Location and to please change any documents to reflect that. She said everything was changed and corrected and I would be charged the regular amount.
Once the charge came through on my credit card it was TRIPLE the amount that is was supposed to be because the documents were never corrected!!! I tried to call them on several occasions with no communication. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THEM!!!

Budget staff not there a half hour before their "close" time. My flight was a half hour late but I had put my flight info on the reservation. I even got Budget's automated email on landing that my car was waiting at Fastbreak desk and did I want Sirius radio? There was no way to call anyone at Budget and the national phone tree led me back to the local desk I was standing at. Luckily Avis and other car agencies were staffed at MCI rental center. Avis rented me a car. Hard to put a negative value on traveling all day with two girls and not having a car promised at 10:30 at night (they closed at 11 pm) -- no notice from Budget -- really stellar management, Budget (sarcasm). No sign at the place, no way to get through on the phone tree nationally. The automated phone tree said if I had put my flight into the reservation the local crew knew it and would hold the car for me (no, that didn't happen as I was standing at their desk well within their window of time and well within their official closing hours).

Please don’t rent a car for them! I rented a car and upon return was charged an extra fee for fuel without my knowledge. A receipt was never emailed to me after I returned it and I was not made aware of the extra charge until I checked my credit card statement. I returned the vehicle with a full tank, but they tried stating otherwise. What they didn’t know is that I recorded a video and took pictures of the rental car when I returned it including a video and picture of the dash board reflecting that I returned the car with a full tank. I emailed that to them and they had no choice but to refund me the extra charge for fuel. My problem with Budget is that they have terrible customer service and the agents are very rude. I had two agents hang up on me and the second one was unprofessional on the phone. The third representative I spoke to was able to assist me, but her customer service wasn’t the best either as her tone was rude at different points of the call. Once again, do not rent from them unless you want unexpected charges on your credit card after the fact!

On 3/23, I had a reservation for a Car pick up and when I got to the location because of lack of cars they asked me if I would be willing to pay extra $20 a day to get into a Camry which I had no issue paying so I agreed. I did the walk thru of the car alone and noticed a damage which I marked on the walk report. I left the location at 11:39am and upon 5 min driving on highway I noticed a windshield crack so I returned back at airport so at 11:47 I returned back and advised the agent of the crack.

Immediately they brought the damage form, which I initially declined because I was returning to report an already cracked windshield from before that I missed to check because it was raining. The operations manager (agent 1147, white tall guy name Drew), told me people like you damage the car and come exchange the car. I asked him was he okay making that remark and it’s bizarre him not knowing me making racial and blaming remarks. He kept saying your not co-operating to the situation and he told me either I fill out the form or he will fill out for me and write anything on it. After 10 mins of going back and forth, he checked me out of the car charged me $710 for 20 mins and handed me the receipt saying if I don’t leave then he will have me escorted out of the private property.

It was really embarrassing and humiliating how he acted and reacted to the situation in front of other customers and made me feel and kept saying “I know people like you do this all the time”. I tried to explain him that if there was a stone hitting then it would just be a simple crack in 4 mins, the crack wouldn’t be a big U-Shape (see picture attached) which he gave me a smirk smile

He kept blaming me plus said 16 times to have me escorted by security out of the building if I don’t fill the form and leave. I eventually filled out the form because I didn’t trusted of what he would write, and upon filling it he told me to leave as budget is not interested in getting my business. When asked to speak with someone else, Ops manager said there is no one except him.

The deceit and lies of the agent was awful and even other customers and employees noticed. He handed me the receipt and walk away.

Avoid this location at all cost choose enterprise but not Avis Budget

1. Did not have the rental class available which I reserved.
2. The lady was very hateful throughout the whole process
3. She says 'third party booking insurance is no good to me and we will come after you for damages sure I get it.. learn some customer service skills and don't be so hateful about it
4. Car finally available and guess what.. chip in the windscreen covered in scratches and dirty as hell inside and out. I'm not taking a car with a chipped windshield that will likely crack after I leave where I will then be charged because you say budget will "come after me for damages"

What a set up. Also when I came back through the line to explain it I had a new agent.. my original agent cuts her off and continues her rude hateful attitude. To top it off she put the wrong address down even after looking directly at my license.

No offers to make it right. No sign of humility or evidence that she will take responsibility. This is the worst rental experience I have ever had and I rent vehicles on average once a week! It will not be from budget ever again

A joke. After waiting hours for flights that kept getting delayed, I was stuck and needed a car. $31 for a Mustang? Yep. 'Would you like us to fuel it, or do you want to?' Was the question posed at the end...'we charge $1.98/gal'. Naturally, I wasn't driving far so I said they could fuel it.
Return the car at ~415am the next day, sign a bill for $32 and I'm on my way.

Days later, credit card comes in and I was charged $66! I call and get ZERO sympathy from a RUDE RUDE RUDE person; who explains what I was signing was the fuel bill. I used 4 gallons of gas and was charged for a whole tank-which was NOT explained to me by the original person.
She said 'you signed it', I thought I was signing the bill!!! (The amounts were basically the same)
Zero empathy, zero regard for customer service.
What a joke. Zero courtesy from start to finish, zero care for their customer. They do NOT care that I was lied to by an employee.

When I picked up the car the lady told me it was an SUV and told me to go to the parking lot and do my own evaluation on the car. It was 10 pm and dark. There was no one in the lot to assist me and the only SUV in the lot was not the car she said I was getting. I went back in for help. She came out and pointed to the car, which was not an SUV like she said and told me to do the check over and went back inside. I'm left standing alone in the dark parking lot to do the check over myself with no assistance. Then I tried to start the vehicle and it wouldn't start. Now I'm going in for the second time to get assistance with starting the vehicle. I finally get all of that worked out and leave.

When I dropped off the car, no one was in the parking lot (again) to receive the car. I walked in to drop the key and tell them I was there to drop off the car. The girl looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about. I handed her my contract and she printed the receipt and told me I was done.

Thirty minutes later I get a phone call telling me there's damage on the car I'm responsible to pay for. The damage was not damage I marked down when I picked up the vehicle and no damage happened to the car while it was in my possession. No one from the company did a walk thru with me before or after. For all I know, the damage could have occurred once it was back in their hands after I dropped it off. This is the most unprofessional business experience I have ever received. DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. This is the first and last time I will use any Budget nationwide. On top of all that, I purchased insurance from them to cover damages and they are telling me that won't pay for whatever this is they're accusing me of doing to the car. Why the heck did I purchase the insurance then?! Worst experience I've ever had!

NIGHTMARE!!! BEWARE!! Took 30 minutes to get my car when I arrived and gave me complete opposite of what I reserved. Then the next day to get back to the airport the car wouldn’t start!! The thing only had 15k miles on it so clearly they don’t maintain their cars. Save yourself the trouble and rent elsewhere.

Guess I should have checked the google reviews prior to renting, a measly 1.1 rating it horrible. Got a very nice surprise on my credit card 2 days after returning the car. They charged me $150 in cleaning fee. I have heard about dishonest places like this charging after the fact hoping we will not notice. This is basically fraud. We have rented hundreds of time over the last 10 years, never from Budget and now I know why. Beware.

I just read the other reviews, these guys should be embarrassed! Fraud and deceiving is not the way to stay in business in the days of the internet.

Was charged an extra $70 for fuel despite returning with a full tank and leaving them with the receipt. I've been waiting over a week for a response to my voicemail. They won't pick up the phone. Will never use this company again. Seems like I'm not the only one with this problem based on other reviews.

Do not rent from them. The staff was rude when I returned the car. They refused to listen when I explained why the gas tank was not refilled. I told the desk person Raj that I had looked for the manual and could not find it. He said they assume renters know how to open the gas tank door. He told me I should have stopped at the near-by gas station and asked them. I was charged $8.99 per gallon of gas. I complained and it took a month to not get an adjustment. Corporate customer service was rude at the "higher up" levels as was KCI airport staff at those same levels. If you own stock in Budget sell it. Do not rent from this location or based on corporate from any Budget, Avis or Payless.
