San Juan Mexican Restaurant

Wow, I think these folks make the best sopapillas I've ever had, and I've tried hundreds. Literally.
Then there's the margaritas. Yes! And the chicken fajita suiza grilled with mushrooms and onions. Fantastic!

Fantastic place around the halfway mark to Denver. I ate there on the way there and the way back. Great salsa, great lunch specials and attentive service. I was most impressed by their "molcajete" dish. Served in the traditional dish and piled high with chorizo, grilled chicken and steak. One of the better entrees I've had at a Mexican restaurant. I loved the feel and the atmosphere. I would eat there often if I lived close.

We ate late afternoon on a Tuesday, so we were almost alone in the restaurant. My expectations were met. The margarita was excellent, the food was excellent, and the portions were large! I will definitely go back if staying in Russell.

Everything very good, like this place, very decorative. Food is good.

Highly recommend this restaurant if in the area or passing thru like we were. Ate there while traveling on vacation for lunch. Very good food. Neat Mexican atmosphere. Love the tables and chairs. If you stop in you'll understand why I'm saying this. Lol. Check it out. Reasonable prices too.

This is the place to stop when traveling thru Kansas! Excellent food! About halfway between KC and Denver!

I was having a rough day and this food turned it around. As good or better than Mexican food in El Paso TX and that says a lot. Priced right too. So worth the detour

Words can't describe the taste and aromas coming off this table. Each bite tasted like it was imported straight out of Mexico.

This is where you stop to eat. Wonderful staff. Building is very colorful and inviting. Now for the food. Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. The portions fill you up. I will be back anytime I come by! Thank you all for the amazing service!!!!!!

Great food quick service. Perfect late lunch spot, good pick compared to the low variety of restaurants. I had the chicken quesadilla, they had their own style for it!

Best food in Russell! Staff is extremely friendly and kind! Stop in and give em a try, very authentic!

Poncho burrito one best I have had in KS. Ask hot sauce was amazing.

Food was delish! Worth the stop if you're driving on I-70! They were super kind. We got our order to go because they didn't have any outdoor seating- but they we were sweet and bagged up chips and delicous salsa for us in addition to our order!

Food was great, the service was right on! The price was right. I'll definitely be back!

Nicely mexican themed restaurant, very colorful, with plenty of seating. The menu has a large selection of authentic style food.
We were seated quickly along with good service. All of our food was served hot and quick. Food was excellent.
The owner was very cool. He even sold us one of his colorful Mexican themed table chairs.
We will return here for food again next time we're in Russell, Kansas.

Great lunch!! our 5 yr old eat all here burrito, my 2 yr old loved the chicken nuggets.My wife and I had the carne asada burrito and it was exceptional. we are traveling cross country and called in the order and it was done at the time they said! We really enjoyed the whole experience! Next time we will dine inside, we can not wait to come back. Unfortunately no to-go Margaritas but that is Kansas for you. Seriously, give this place your business!

Salmon Mazatain is wonderful! Wish I had room for dessert.

Truly a little hidden gem! Delicious authentic Mexican food. The service was good... But they didn't know much English, so that made things slightly difficult. Still worth it for the good food at low prices!
