Beautiful town and nice train station 🚉 with an authentic Japanese mart 😄

We loved their authentic Japanese potato salad, prepared food and mochi. Their Japanese pan (bread) were not as good as Korean or Taiwanese bread (imho the outer bread was okay but tuna fillings were too little and cheese fillings were too salty). Overall item prices are reasonable.

I highly recommend this place in the weekend picnicking at train station bench to enjoy the Japanese small train station town like atmosphere.

I Love Tawara Mart. It's such a great find to have an authentic Japanese market nestled in the main street of Ramsey. They have just as good a variety of Japanese foods, snacks, & food ingredients. They even rival dare I say exceed in variety of Japanese goods from purses, toys, stickers and more. I once had a nice conversation with the store owner, I believe her name was Kiko; she regularly travels back & forth to Japan to get the latest and greatest from back home so you know it's legit. More people need to discover for themselves this great little slice of Japan right in the heart of Ramsey.

The service was good. They have a good selection of Japanese food and products.

A super authentic Japanese convenience store, and an excellent offshoot of Tawara, next-door's authentic Japanese restaurant. They've got imported Japanese snacks of all shapes and sizes, school/office supplies that are as adorable as they are functional, and prepared food that always makes me ask "has anything that Tawara made ever really been bad?"

Fair prices and always fresh prepared foods! Love coming here when I can.

Great cozy store- full of character - many items such as accessories, dishware, stationary, candy, and foods. Many groceries and also their pre-made food is very tasty. Friendly cashier. I enjoy coming here.

The best place in the area for hard to access/find Japanese treats and cooking supplies, and other goodies! It is always very clean and organized. They always have freshly prepared food to grab and go.

This is such a gem! The prepared foods they have here are delicious and are remarkably inexpensive. I highly recommend any of the fish bento boxes, the vegetable croquettes, the fried gyoza, and the shoyu ramen. The snacks are so tasty and are the best Japanese snacks available in the US. Since discovering this place, I have acquired my lunch and snacks here at least once a week. I am glad to have this in my area. Consistently open seven days a week with reliable options always available. Love it!

This store is truly a gem! Their selections of Japanese imports are amazing, and they even sell some fresh spring rolls and vegetable croquets by the register. This store is perfect on an adventurous day where you want to try new things! Be sure to stop by soon!

One of my favorite stops when I'm in town. Their ready-made food is great, but their baked goods are the best.

went here for the first time today with my boyfriend and had an amazing experience! the staff was extremely friendly and polite. we had a lovely conversation with the employee while we shopped. the variety of foods and products was super impressive given that the store is of smaller size. we bought a ton of snacks and drinks, and also tried some of the pre-made meals they had available which were also delicious. we will definitely be returning very soon!!

Real Japanese owned “Conveni” the owners are so nice and the store is very very clean! They have a mix of Japanese grocery staples and also some really cool bento dishes. They even had matcha “soft cream” and even a stationary section. The bread might be the highlight for me personally though.

Will be coming back with my family, this is truly a rare blessing for us to enjoy this quality food in NJ.

Both Tawara mart and the restaurant have always been a favorite among myself and all my friends. My coworkers and I used to go at least 3x a week for lunch until work relocated too far away. The staff and service at both locations are always friendly and helpful, and the food is unbeatable. I have never had less than an incredible experience, the owner Kiki has clearly poured her heart and soul into this business and it shows.

Greatest little store with fresh veggies, prepared food , fresh bakery items and a variety of amazing package goods from Japan. Lovely staff including very friendly young gentleman at the register. Helpful. They should do cooking classes so we can learn more about the array of great ingredients and how to use them. Will return.

I've been going to tawara mart since it opened! It's super cute I love all the pre-made food you can buy! My favorite are the cheese corn-dogs(?) I miss those so much - haven't seen them in a hot minute. The pastries are really good. The trinkets they also sell are super cute! Such a great place to go for a quick meal. <3

After returning to the states from living in japan for 6 years, this little place was like a blast from the past! EVERYTHING from the music to the coffee, to the chu hai looking can, reminded me of Japan!

Love this little conbini. The prepared food items, and bakery items are always surprisingly delicious. They also have amazing lattes and softcream. A great place to pick up Japanese produce (kabocha, yams, cabbage, mushrooms, umeboshi,etc), sauces, and other groceries. They even have adorable gifts and popular cosmetics (highly recommend the heroine make liquid liner). I just love this spot, super convenient because mitsuwa is not very convenient to get to (and busy), and the staff is always super nice

I wish there was a Tawara Mart where I live in Lansing MI. I'd go there everyday! Everything there is perfect! So good, I love the prepped bento boxes, the only Japanese mart Ive been to and its going to be hard to beat.

Can someone tell me what greens, seaweed are used in the bento boxes please!!!

Our favorite Japanese restaurant in Ramsey has opened a Japanese mart and general store...it's awesome!! From delicious authentic takeout Japanese cuisine 🍙to hot coffee in a can☕ to Japanese novelty items🧧!! We loved everything we purchased...salmon omusubi, rice crackers with umi wrapped in seaweed and adorable socks to name few! Please check it out...you'll love it!

Such a cute little store. The prices are a little higher than you would find at a major grocery store but you're helping a small business. They have such unique food finds here. Rhey have staple items as well as items you wouldn't typically see in a regular store. I always stock up in ramen and udon noodles when I come. They have a variety of their own prepared foods and sauces which I highly reccomend. Their restaurant next door makes the food items they sell. My favorite is the chicken karaage bowl. The baked goods are excellent. Try the matcha rice krispie treat! It's inside a strip mall which has parking which a huge plus.
