Ivy's Bohemia House

What a true gem. Stopped in here for lunch while on a hiking trip through the Indiana Dunes and I was really impressed. The whole town was surprisingly cool but this restaurant really stood out. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options and lots of high quality food choices. The service was also top notch. Really liked this spot!

Certainly a fun place to eat! Good food, interesting setting and wonderful staff makes this a great place to take the family. A bit on the pricey side but the food is very good. We had the Boho Mac & Cheese, Shepards Pie and the Polish Platter. All very good and huge servings.

Ok. I promised a review when we had the most fabulous time at this stunning restaurant 9/21/19. Then Covid happened and our best laid plans weren’t fulfilled. We were on our way back from seeing Falling Waters to get back to MN and had a night stay in this area. We have never had better warm service and felt like friends with the owners by the end. They gave amazing food suggestions, went out of their way to get us the best wine, and were such beautiful souls. Loved the atmosphere, warm, cozy, artistic and fun. The food was incredible, from appetizers to desserts- everything was exceptional and we feasted on the best. Please note this review is 4 1/2 years old and this place is so exceptional, I had to keep my promise to write. I found their business card in my junk drawer which prompted this review. Much gratitude!

Stopped in after a local hike. Went in starving! Left in food coma. Hostess and server were super friendly and service was awesome. Food was fresh and delicious. Most definitely made it with love. For a late night snack our first option was bourbon bread pudding..but they ran out. Which means only one thing. It's super tasty? These people are doing it right. Our server welcomed us to take a look at the case they had displayed with tons of sweets to choose from. Decided on a cannoli and bohemian bar. Great first experience here. We will be back to try more things on the menu. Hoping to see more vegan/ plant based foods in the future too!

Ivys is an essential Chesterton food destination. With amazing Staff and the BEST home cooked meals, you are guaranteed a great time. Highly recommend their cajun pasta or shrimp & grits. Being dog friendly on the patio is the cherry on top! They also have a lot of gluten free options as well. Run, don't walk, to Ivys!

I make a point of coming here every time we visit the Indiana Dunes. I feel like I’m in a fairy tale surrounded by all the beautiful vines and decor. The food is so incredible, you never want to stop eating. Their New York Reuben and tortellini are so excellent we have a hard time ordering anything else

If you are looking for amazingly good home cooked food, this is the place. We got the stuffed cabbage with red sauce and shepherds pie- soooo good!! Great service in a cute little eclectic place. Truly a gem of a restaurant, highly recommend if you are in Chesterton or spent the day hiking at the dunes like us. Also, unbelievably good dessert selection!!!!

This is my once-per-year review for an upgraded sixth star. Chesterton, Indiana? Cute-ish downtown area, but this restaurant...wow. Aces all the way....just amazing. Sarah was our attentive server.... great food specials (jerk chicken and chimi-churi short ribs), super cozy venue. Aces...

We choose this restaurant because we don’t have a place like this at home. The restaurant has a very quirky decor. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was high quality and the portions were appropriate size for the price in my opinion. The dessert was my favorite part of my experience. I had the Italian lemon cake and It was the best lemon cake I’ve ever had!

Definitely not the kind of place we thought we'd come across in Indiana, but it was delightful. Their menu has a unique selection of food, I was disappointed I couldn't try everything. The atmosphere is stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed the crab ravioli and my husband loved his polish platter. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a memorable and wonderful place to have dinner. The other guests and the staff were so friendly. When the kitchen was out of one item, they specially made another different menu item without us even requesting it. There was a lovely feeling of eating at the home of a really good cook. We couldn't have enjoyed our visit more!

This is such a special place in town. The atmosphere and decor transport you to a small Italian bistro. We have been here several times and cant get enough of their delicious pasta dishes!! Sometimes there is a man playing an accordion and singing outside and I swear we are in Italy. We were just enjoying dinner here yesterday and I want to go back for more!!

What an excellent quaint little place. The menu has a great and wide selection of offerings. I had the Polish platter which was absolutely delicious. If you go there, make room for dessert. They have a great selection of desserts. Also, a complete wine and beer list.

This is in a home in downtown Chesterton. We dined in the backyard on a beautiful day with only the construction and trains to fill the background. The food was really good, I ordered a smoked mozzarella ravioli in cajun alfredo, my wife ordered a polish dish she loved eating as a child. They have a tremendous mixed drink menu and wine and beer menu that is reasonably priced, but we never made it passed the mixed drinks.

Great atmosphere, really tasty food, good service, pricing is higher, but it is Chesterton. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic food and friendly service. The tomato soup was excellent as were the cocktails and the Polish Platter with a trio of Polish classics.

Great atmosphere. We were seated on the outside deck. My son did have a bit of trouble with flies due to our seating. Tia was an excellent server. She took time to explain all questions our party had over the menu. Drinks came quickly and were perfectly made. The food was exceptionally great tasting and was served timely and hot. Would highly recommend.

This 1920's house turned cute, rustic, and delicious restaurant is a new favorite of mine in the Chicago region. Places like this a hard to find which makes for a special treat. The staff was incredibly polite and outgoing. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu, well seasoned, diverse, and dang good. I really can't say enough for Ivy's. Will be back for more!

We love Ivy's. It is eclectic and artsy. Small and intimate. The food is good and fairly decently priced. They also have awesome absinthe drinks. There is a tiny little bar that can seat 3 people on the second floor. We love to move up there after dinner and have an absinthe drink.

Amazing! Great atmosphere with front deck, indoor, and rear patio seating. We had the crab cakes, bowl of the tomato soup (more than enough for two people!), and the crab ravioli. Everything tasted great and the server was well informed and friendly.
