One of the best restaurants in the area. Food is not only well presented but also delicious and fresh.

Listen carefully - O Lagarto serves the best food in a 100km radius. The service is very professional, the atmosphere is good and the food makes you cry for more.

Fantastic food, average prices. We decided to just treat ourselves on our outing. We had a plate of bean soup, so delicious I wanted more, I'm not a soup person. Followed by two types of starters, chorizo assado and a platter of local cheese and marmalade with home baked bread. It was so yum. Followed by a dish of arroze doce or rice pudding. Well it was a lunch like no other to be remembered for a long time.

As a large group of Americans traveling abroad, with only one and a half Portuguese speakers, it can sometimes be awkward trying to eat at restaurants. The servers were very accommodating and nice here. It really made us feel welcome.

The food blew us away. We went in expecting something like a tourist gift shop cafe but it was anything but.

The food was incredible. Delicious and perfectly prepared and priced very attractively.

I really can't recommend this place enough. If I had more time in the area I would make it a priority to come back.

It is a very nice restaurant with great food. Portions are adequate and prices are fair. I personally found that the deserts and some of the specialty dishes are a bit overpriced. You should make a reservation.

Fantastic family run restaurant. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff and super quick service. The best steak I've eaten in a very long time.

Very good food at the historic villlage of Castelo Novo. Nice dishes, not to be missed if you are foodie travelling through Beira Baixa. Great place to go lunch after having a dip at the fluvial beach just on the village entrance from the freeway.
