We just moved to Covilha and wanted to celebrate our anniversary in this place, going down from the mountain. And belive me it's worth it! Quality of food is superb, everything is local, fresh and good made. The place is welcoming, the service is really polite. Price is ok. For sure we will be back to try something more!

Good quality food, good price, friendly staff. Before going make sure you have reserve a table otherwise because of popularity you may not be able to have a table. The meals and starters were exceptional but the deserts however were delicious but could improve. Starters were tasty including local ham an very creamy cheese.

We had a beautiful experience at this restaurant last night. All of the staff were extremely helpful, and welcoming to us as tourists. We really enjoyed all of the dishes we got. Our favourites were the Cod and Spinach crumbed bake, and the juniper rice. Very delicious. Thanks for having us!

Beautiful ambiance and great flavors! We really enjoyed the Chocolate Surprise dessert, although it changes every week.

I am a fan of this family style restaurant. The food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great. I would recommend the baby lamb, the goat, and the pork cheek. All excellent dishes.

On a side street that leads nowhere, you will find Varanda da Estrela. You will see the warm and welcome looking patio before you go uphill again.

I came upon this place with many people sitting, eating and laughing - both inside and out - that's usually a good sign. The menu is approachable while not being too varied - there's a clear direction in mind and they do it well.

I was welcomed with a tasting of olives, peppers and soft cheese with bread and oil and vinegar, and a menu in English when they realized I wasn't from here.

Everything I had was very good. I highly recommend the Ratatouille - I got it as a side dish - I'd come back for an entree of it.

The food was delicious - we had borreguinho (which was my favorite of our dishes), cabritinho, and naco de vazia. Ambience was good, servers were pretty nice, the place was beautiful.

The food was really good. Service was great, the staff was really nice!
They have a special rice that is really good. We had that and the vitela. Sangria was amazing.
Also we requested a coffee ice-cream which was really good.
The pricing was fair.
Has a spacious balcony and tables inside. The space was clean.
Recommend.

The restaurant is very well decorated with a quiet ambiance.
The food was delicious and they served good portions for the paid price.
The staff was very kind and the manager asked a few times if everything was good in terms of service which showed appreciation for the customers.

Wonderfully place, super friendly staff, and veggie/vegan options available. The serrana toast (tosta serrana) with sauteed spinach, mushrooms and chestnuts topped with cherry tomatoes was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend.
Although I didn't try it, the arroz de zimbo and feijoada serrana also has great feedback from my companions.

Really nice place near the top of the mountain. I definitely recommend their Serra da Estrela cheese sauce, it is really good! Service was also really fast. We waited less than 10 min between the order and the service (table of 4)

Great lunch location. We booked in advance which I would say is advisable. The food is very traditional and the portions are huge. I recommend 1 dish for two.

Excellent food, very good wine chart, yummy regional desserts, very attentive and friendly staff. Nice room, good temperature. Truly a must.

An amazing place! First of all the interior decor is beautiful - all real wood and stones, no imitated materials. And the food is authentic and tasty, portions are good! (don't eat before going there 😀) Menu is also available in English! 5 out of 5 ⭐

Best food I have eaten since visiting Portugal 🇵🇹. The ladies who are cooking are excellent and the service was very good. I had the little lamb large portions.

We found this gem of a restaurant as it was only a short walk from our hotel. Spent a few hours during a hot afternoon with very reasonably priced drinks. Returned later on in the evening to try the food. Absolutely delicious. We had the stuffed mushrooms and the sirloin steak. Both were cooked to perfection with the steak well seasoned. The menu is in multiple languages including English, but there was no real worry as the staff speak English and were happy to go through the menu. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and we felt very comfortable there. So much so that we returned yesterday for another steak! The portions are very large and very good value for money. Definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a pleasant evening dining. I do recommend booking ahead as the place is very popular throughout the week.
