Humble Ground Cafe

I love this little cafe. The atmosphere is very relaxing with good music and the matcha latte we got was delicious. A great place to get out of the heat for a while and to enjoy a hot or cold drink. They also had a selection of cakes and brownies which looked delicious. They also have oat milk as well.

The owner and barista here are super friendly and patient in recommending me their specialty drinks! Sadly I was rushing for time but I was glad to be able to appreciate a good cup of Iced Oat Mocha under the hot weather on my last day in Melaka here! It was a great selection as I could taste the chocolatey, nutty undertones of the coffee which paired well with the oat milk (amazing you guys used Oatside)! Also loved the cosy atmosphere and Taylor Swift song covers playing in the background 👀

Came to this cafe upon a recommendation of a friend and sought respite from the heat.

The indoor temperature was ambient and was not too cold from the aircon. It was a really good place to chill and rest after a long day of walking. We managed to find a table for the 4 of us and ordered 4 drinks and 2 cakes.

The matcha chocolate cake was delicious and it was a pity that there was only a small portion of the matcha ganache in the matcha chocolate cake!
The houjicha burnt cheesecake was creamy but the yuzu cream served with it complemented it very well and made the cake light on the palate.

The matcha latte had a strong matcha flavour and was well mixed and the jasmine asam boi drink was refreshing. We also had the iced black and lavender lemonade which were nice but we much prefer the former two drinks.

Nice matcha trio cake: cream was not jelat, matcha and chocolate blend was good. Hojicha latte was good too. Would visit again next time in melaka to try their hot coffee (with custom staff decoration)

Went in with a big group of friends (14 of us total) and had the upper floor to ourselves! It was a really nicely decorated and homey space, a great respite from the heat.

We ordered across the menu of drinks and had a few desserts too. Personally had their lavender soda and enjoyed it!

Didn’t see the reviews beforehand about the matcha trio cake but it looked so pretty in the display case, I couldn’t resist! And I’m glad I got it in the end 😋 it was sooo enjoyable, I was tempted to go back to grab another slice on the way back to my accommodation.

Service staff were really nice and sweet as well! Looking forward to the next time I’m in Melaka to drop by again!

Super nice place with a good warm atmosphere. Cute and friendly girls working there. The cake was delicious 🤤! The lavender iced latte had a bit too intense flavor for my taste, but in general, I’ll totally recommend this place. It’s calm there, so it’s good for working, or writing a diary.

Humble Ground cafe is really nice and cozy inside they have downstairs and upstairs the hot mocha is really nice and we come here at least 5 times since we in Malacca hope to see you again soon🙏

The matcha dark chocolate cake was so GOOD! Tried the black cloud as well (which was essentially an espresso tonic with lime), it was alright but I wouldn’t order it again. The Jasmine Matcha Muscat cake is not bad as well.

Very delicious espresso tonic and lemon curd chiffon cake. The reviews are legit.

So we went to Jonker Walk again since we stayed nearby and it was the touristy things to do. Managed to buy some items and by the time we finished, the mouth was itchy for something.

Humble Ground Cafe is located within walking distance from Jonker Walk so we made our way there to get away from the crowds and the scorching sun.

The cafe was designed tastefully - head upstairs where the whole area is decorated just like a small living corner complete with sofa, table and they even had teepee that young ones will like.

◾Cakes - blueberry cheesecake and chocolate cake were standouts as both were bursting with flavours and right texture. A bit small but like they said "good things come in small packages".
◾Coffee - be it iced black or flat white, we simply loved the strength of the beans used to make our cup of coffee.
◾Other options include matcha latte & kombucha for non-coffee drinkers.

Cosy ambience, friendly staffs and good coffee + cakes = recipe for success!

A great place snuck in between hustling and bustling Jonker Walk, very quiet and had a great atmosphere for chilling. We just ordered drinks here although tempted to try the cakes as they looked nice and delicious. Will come again when visiting Malacca in future.

Simply need more cafe like this in Jonker. Cozy environment and calming atmosphere, with their Blueberry Crumble Cheesecake could really made you day. Their creamy yogurt-like cheesecake is tasty and you won't feel too heavy even right after your meal. Their classic scone is nice too, not too dry and best served with their jam.

The black sesame cake went very well with the almond and sea salt cheese frosting. The triple trio dark chocolate cake and black sesame cake was very fluffy and soft. The atmosphere was cozy and warm too. The service was quite prompt and the cakes went well with the tea.

Nice quaint cafe. Very Instagrammable. A good place to rest too. Cakes and drinks were nice.

I’ve visited many coffee shops in Melaka and I keep finding myself coming back to this one. Such a gem in the middle of Jonker area. Coffee and pastries/desserts are great. Service is always friendly. The atmosphere is cozy, warm and inviting. Such a neat place to sit down with a book, do some work on your computer or chat with a friend. Highly recommend!

It is located at the alley behind jonker Street. Find Tourist Police turn right and go straight and look at your right.

I love their signature matcha chocolate trio cake! I came twice for this cake during short trip. Very rich dark chocolate and matcha, bittersweet.

Ordered lavender lemonade soda, I like how they use ice ball cube. Bonus mark added. The taste is very refreshing and surprisingly is not sweet. The crew told me they handmade their own lavender syrup.

Service is good and friendly too!

I was drawn to this café due to its extensive matcha offerings, making it a must-visit for matcha enthusiasts. The matcha crumble cheesecake stood out with its creamy richness and delightful flavor. I really enjoyed the cake and drinks here! Dark Choc Matcha Trio was very good as I read from reviews. The chocolate is dense so sooooo chocolate-y while the matcha has that bitter but real matcha taste. Nicely presented with some rose bits om the plate. I like that their Ice Latte is cheaper compared to other cafes but taste equally good!

I thought the concrete seat (in my photos) was going to be painful to sit but I end up enjoying my entire afternoon chillaxing over there. Toilet was very clean as well. The ladies were very friendly and patiently explained to me about their cakes. If only I have more stomach space, else there was 2 more I would like to try!

Glad to find this shop via Google Map. It's really a pity the shop front don't stand out enough when the cakes were so outstanding! But I will intro to my friends if they visit Malacca next time!
