Such a good place to have your breakfast here. The cafe is just in front of the Malacca river. The food and beverage overall is awesome. No need queue if you choose to sit inside the cafe. If you prefer the outdoor seating then you're gonna queue. Quite surprised that the indoor seating area is huge for me. As I visited another restaurant or cafe nearby it was small.

Lovely place, amazing food, lots of food options, great location along the river and nice staff. Very good value for money. I do recommend 100%. Try their blueberry muffin and yogurt granola! Their passion fruit tea is also wonderful!

Starting with the cat graffiti at the entrance to the amazing location (Malacca River Bank) to the cosy ambiance and the board games.... this cafe is so nice for a snack and a quick bite and seeing friends.

Coffee is well-brewed and the prices are convenient.

Staff are fun, friendly, and kind... you would keep chatting with them and they're always available around you.

A big yes to this riverside cafe. Good vibes, beautiful and chill atmosphere.
We had our breakfast at riverside in the morning. The cafe crew was so friendly, helpful, and attentive.
Had their big breakfast, egg mayo sandwich, mushroom soup, and coffee. Like their milky bread, so soft.
Good experience overall. I strongly recommend this cafe if you're nearby.

Story:

This historic merchant shop, owned by the Zheng family for a century, once served as a vital rice supplier in Melaka. The absence of electricity back then led to the shop featuring a spacious air well. Positioned by a river at the rear, it facilitated rice transportation, with the front door catering to customers.

Today, the building, transformed into a cafe by Zheng family relatives, preserves its legacy with an array of family artifacts on display. While the lower level provides a cozy setting for patrons to enjoy a variety of food and beverages, the upper level remains closed due to maintenance needs, particularly addressing a leaking roof that may have affected some furniture.

The cafe serves as a charming blend of nostalgia and contemporary delights, allowing visitors to relish both the ambiance and culinary offerings while immersing themselves in the rich history of the Zheng family.

Found along the Melaka River Walk.
It is converted from a shophouse to a café
The inner courtyard offer comfortable sitting
Their own brand of Ginger Ale is perfect on a hot day
More seats are available outside along the river

Food is good and reasonable price. Service very good! We came here at 8am and sit by the river, like the atmosphere here.

What a vibe! The coffee is good, the croissant is so buttery and flakey (if it's not buttery enough you could spread more butter on it 🤣). The service is decent but the servers are a bit awkward. The food came out fast for me!

It was a little crowded but the food was worth for the wait.
Everyone who works there was really friendly and helpful.

Recommended breakfast spot.

One of the best cafes in Malacca, bar none! The latte has the perfect balance of warmth and flavor! I'm very fussy with my coffee and this one hits the spot! The big breakfast is equally amazing! They make their own bread and pastry.... It's no wonder the toast tastes awesome. If you're longing for some western style breakfast, this is the place to go! Service was fast and impeccable! Love the rustic and old school atmosphere of the cafe. I've already put it on my "Must Visit" list for when I come back to Malacca again.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming cafe and I must say, I was blown away! The breakfast was absolutely amazing but what really stood out for me was the oat milk latte. It was hands down the best one I've ever had!

The ambiance of the cafe was warm and inviting, with plenty of natural light and cozy seating. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and made me feel right at home.

Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast and an amazing coffee. The quality of the food and drinks, combined with the fantastic service and atmosphere, makes for an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Came for a morning coffee and soft boiled egg. The brown finish layer of cup can tell how professional standard is their barista works.
Good ambiene and can have outing seating next to the river. Haven't try their breakfast menu, will have my return visit soon.

Love the aesthetics of this cafe. Owner and staffs are friendly and nice. Prices for the food and beverages are worth it. Highly recommend the yogurt bowl with fruits and the passionfruit tea. Location is very strategic cause its just by the river. Perfect for instagram story/post. Definitely will come again whenever i visit Malacca.

A slice of Malacca to chill in; contemporary but also eclectically decorated with vintage furnishing. Though set just by the touristy river with crowded Jonker Walk nearby, it feels tucked away and is spacious.

Breads and soups are made in house (whole loaves available for sale), and grass-fed butter could be purchased. Had broccoli soup, big breakfast, sourdough bread. After being impressed, my friend and I couldn't resist trying their mushroom soup & foccasia bread. Very, very well made! Aromatic, has a clean, straightforward and powerful taste. Clearly made with thought, effort and much kitchen experience. Thumbs up to their recipes! And I don't know where they sourced their eggs but the chickens must have been happy with life to produce eggs of such excellent flavour.

And the coffee (I had mocha)... this is how coffee in cafe should taste like (minimal standard!) Deep and full-bodied.

No wonder I lost track of time when I was here. This is a family-run cafe. And everyone from grandma, parents to teenagers helped serve the customers. Can feel their warm familial culture in the way they welcome us into their cafe and serve us.

Right on the river front, this little gem is filled with history and well curated vintage items. Super high ceilings.. I can imagine it would be a space to host events. Great to tuck in to a good latte (thrilled I could find oat milk) and one of the best earl grey chiffon cakes I've ever tried. A chill atmosphere and very friendly staff. I enjoyed it so much I had to go back the next day during my short stay. Well done!

Nice place to sit in front of river in the morning. Cool breeze and sun does not directly shine to the outside of the shop till noon. Boats come and go, nice music played from inside the cafe. Ordered big breakfast with salad, and with iced piccolo latte. Staff service was not that responsive but they are polite and friendly so it’s not a deal breaker. Not many cafes open as early as 8 in the morning. Best cafe I have visited in Melaka so far

Very welcoming staffs and service even when I reached slightly before their opening hours.

The vibe here is chill and comfortable, with great view and music from their playlist.

Food was good as well and juice was extremely fresh. Their coffee looks nice, will probably come back and try next time!
