Such a hidden gem in Melaka. Huge book collections specializing in philosophy, Zen, Buddhism, history. Most of them are in Chinese, also have a shelves full of English books if you search carefully. I spent 2 hours reading there before heading to other places.

very quiet and good for reading! even reading not your purpose, it is still a great place to calm down as you really can't hear much from the street.

Nice library away from the hustle and bustle of the main jonkers walk.

This place is a quaint old library in the middle of the busy street. We just dropped in to see the collection of books which was huge. As the books were in mandarin and being mandarin illiterate we couldn't understand much about it but the librarian there was kind enough for us to spend time there just skimming through the books. They also have a beautiful courtyard like almost all houses in the jonker Street. It's an old library but very well kept.
Don't let the fact that books are all in mandarin keep you from visiting this place.
It has a very nice atmosphere, it feels like one has time traveled to a couple of decades ago as you walk along the corridors of old dusty books.
