Lone Pine, Penang, A Tribute Portfolio Resort

My first time staying at the Lone pines resort. My partner and I had a wonder stay for 4 days 3 nights. We both felt relaxed staying here. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the coffee here even though it was from the machine. And the breakfast buffet, while limited options, they were good and most importantly hot and fresh food. I would recommend couples to stay here. Surely will be back again!

Property: Beautiful, quiet, a small piece of paradise on earth!
Room: Overall comfortable room with a lovely seaview balcony. Bathroom was a little lacking - poor quality toiletries, faulty hand-held shower head, faulty cold water tap, room service menu was not available.
Service: Good service, friendly and helpful staff. Be careful of cat poop at the bar though!
Food: Fairly good buffet spread for breakfast. However, egg station chef tried to push a cold plate of scrambled eggs on us; had to ask him to make us a fresh one. Room service food was bad - fried rice with prawns tasted like it was made earlier and heated up in a microwave! Prawns was definitely not fresh.

Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing 3D/2N. We would go back again and would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quiet, do-nothing short holiday. We feel certain that Marriott would look into improving services there!

Lone Pine is uniquely positioned next to Ferringhi Station hawkers food stalls selling a wide variety of international dishes. The Lone Pine is an establishment so well set up for the weary traveller spread over an acre of lush gardens with large swimming pools and plenty of lazy boys to recline on. Most rooms look out onto the Ocean. The staff are always available and very friendly. 💯👍🏆

Stay was comfortable and hotel has one of the most beautiful views looking out to the beach. Swimming pool was great. Atmosphere was blissful! The only unfortunate thing was the dinner during an event, seafood wasn’t fresh and food too salty. Other than this, everything was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Really like this Resort. The location is fab on a lovely beach, the rooms have recently been refurbished and are very comfortable.
The swimming pool is a perfect temperature and decent size.
The team at the hotel are very nice indeed. Very thoughtful and attentive.

This resort was fantastic. Quiet, spotless, with excellent food and service. I would come back.

This was our 5th visit to the Lone Pine and probably the most enjoyable. The hotel is well positioned for all activities across Penang and lives up to the description as a boutique hotel.
It has recently changed hands and is now owned by the Marriott group and with it there has been a noticeable increase in service levels across the site.
Customer service at Reception works well (a quick plug for Lyaa's efforts) , same goes for grounds and pool maintence, and room cleaning.
Food and Beverages is noticeably better and there is a strong and capable team in place - another plug this time for Syaffiq (the King of the cocktails) - who is doing a great job of running the bar and also Khairul and Sharizam - nothing was too much for these guys and you can't say that about some of the other hotels in Batu.
It's very noticeable that the Marriott is raising standards and needs to be complimented for this.
We are hoping that future accommodation and flight costs remain within our budget and in that respect have found that the Marriott Bonvoy members club seems to be aimed at retaining your future custom.

Highly recommended places to stay in Batu Ferringhi. Well located, easy access to anything. The hotel was very nice, the ambient is to live for, the sea facing room view is to die for. Good healing trip as you can stay in the balcony at night while having a cup of tea with the sound of waves. Also the staffs were all lovely and helpful. Love and cherish every moment there. Will definitely return there for future trips.

My first time here, and the main aim for this trip was proposal to my gf. My heartfelt thanks to Mr Syaffiq, my person in charge for The Romantic Dinner, for assisting me from the beginning, catering to my every request, trying his best to accommodate my arrangement for my proposal. I shall rate Mr Syaffiq 5 stars for his sincerity, patience and dedication in his service. Thanks Lone Pine for the great memories, will come back again in the near future!

Very well located hotel. Superb service by the staff, alisha/alice. Walking distance to most of the food and night markets. Even McDonald.

Breakfast was amazing with plenty of selection which suits Malaysian's taste bud. Served with both western and eastern cuisine. We get an upgrade to our room as the room we selected is fully booked. Served with welcome drink and snacks during check-in. Room is clean and surrounding are quiet and relaxing. The bed is comfortable.
However, the weather is not conducive, and we would like to visit again during a nicer weather condition. The tub at the balcony is slightly dirty and can be improved. Overall, the stay was decent and will definitely visit again.

Nice tranquil stay from the hustle n bustle of the city. Direct access to the beach via a back door; and there are many activities waiting for you like horse rides, paragliding, jet ski etc.

Went for a meeting, food was ok but can improve more, the main entrance a bit secluded but compensate with calm and greeny environment. Excellent facilities and easy access to the beach. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and Ferringhi walk.

Had a great stay. Sound of the waves from the balcony was amazing. Good breakfast, nice pool, OK beach.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel as a couple, and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. From start to finish, our stay was exceptional.
One of the highlights of our stay was the food. The meals we had were absolutely amazing, with delicious flavors and generous portions that left us feeling satisfied and content. We were thrilled with the quality and variety of the cuisine, and it was clear that the kitchen staff take great pride in their work.
But the food wasn't the only thing that impressed us. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We were especially delighted to have a gorgeous sea view from our room, which added an extra level of relaxation to our stay.
The staff at the hotel were friendly, attentive, and helpful, from the front desk to the bar tenders who made us a special drink. We felt well taken care of throughout our stay, and it was clear that the hotel places a high value on excellent customer service.
All in all, we had a fantastic time at this hotel and would definitely visit again. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable vacation experience.

Breakfast buffet was good.. Western, Chinese and malay cuisine available.. Bread selection was good.. Different egg cooking methods are avail to select too

My daughter, her fiance and myself enjoyed the stay at Lone Pine; the laid back style, the old charm, the food, the beverages and most of all the very warm and friendly service from all the staff impressed us very much. I would recommend this place if one wants a calm, take it easy, "do nothing specific" vacation time in a place which is quiet , not noisy and no aggressive and sometimes annoying tourist crowd and most of all a very good service from the staff. Now I would like to propose to the hotel management to have three bedroom opportunity so that a family can stay comfortably with a good sleep....... Also have some choice in the breakfast menu with equal emphasis on other items other than Malay choices alone.

Very unassuming beachfront property, especially from the main road.
But once you enter this resort, it blows your mind! Manicured lawns, immaculate pool, and pristine beach within 20 m from the pool. The sound of the waves was music to my ears as I sipped a cocktail by the pool side. I spent 4 happy hours at the bar yesterday evening and got to catch one of the most amazing sunsets!. Best of all, it is private, and this resort only attracts a certain segment of society. So if you are looking for a place that can give you the Ritz Carlton service standard while still ticking all the boxes for superb food and amazing rooms, give this placet a try. It is a bit pricy but well worth every cent!

The staff are so friendly and provide an excellent service. The FB manager come and say hi and chat about the hotel atmosphere. He’s so good.

My husband and I loved our time at Lone Pine, we visited at the end of May. This is our second stay here and it was just as good as the last time. Breakfast every morning was great with good variety. Bed was very comfy, pool is spacious and relaxing area. Staff were always lovely and helpful. Location is great in Batu Ferringhi as it is on the beach and also a short walk to various food hawker stalls, bus stop and other shops. If you do want to travel into George Town then it's about an hour on the bus or 30-45mins via a Grab/taxi.
Highly recommend Lone Pine.
