Hotel Mercure Penang Beach

Had a 3D2N stay in the Hill View room. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Bathroom had free flow filter water from a 3M tap. Full toiletries provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash). Large screen TV with enough channels to keep you occupied. Facilities were good; fully-equipped gym with premium equipment and a decently sized pool. Bar has free pool and darts with live music on the weekends. Bar offerings are reasonably priced and drinks are nicely mixed. Wide selection of choices at the breakfast buffet with a variety of local and international favourites. Beach is very beautiful and clean. I would definitely suggest to take the Sea View upgrade to look out on the straits (but do note that the windows are not one-way). Parking is a little limited at the hotel itself but they offer validation for parking at the nearby Tanjung Point (there is no covered walkway should it rain). Overall, a comfortable place for a short stay, good location and a beautiful beachfront. Recommended for couples and small families :)

Will definitely repeat staying at this place again. Breakfast spread is nice and variety. Very nice when having breakfast, as can feel the morning breeze is calm and cold. And can easily go to beach. Its just behind the hotel. The beach is so clean and private.

We spent 2 nights here and I must say that everything was excellent. The room was comfortable and I extremely like the sea view from my room. I love the ambience of the hotel, the scenery, their service, I love how easy it is to access the beach and so on. Their cons is that the rooms are not really soundproof since I can hear when people talk or walk by the corridor and the crying of the child from the next room. They have limited parking, but you can park your car in the building next door. Overall, it's worth every penny.

The hotel with good vibes.. stunning views of beach..you can do brisk walk by the beach, Pool for adults and kids. Gyms facilities..Many families events can be organized by the sea. varieties of breakfast form oriental to western and it is good. Ample parking and friendly staff. Recommended and preferred stay while visiting Penang.

This hotel is located at a strategic location for business trip and family vacation stay. A quiet place with sea views lobby and spacious room with great view. It is about 15min drive to downtown city and 40min drive to Penang Airport. I like the hotel cosy atmosphere setup with welcome drink. 😊

Breakfast is wonderful. A la carte dinner is good too. Swimming pool is facing the sea and is clean. I prefer swimming in the pool than the beach because the beach is full of broken shells and the sea water quality is no good. Receptionist handle the check in process very efficiently. Staff are well trained and polite.

Spent our holiday today for 2 days 1 night and it was an awesome holiday ever. All the service provided was excellent. The food very yummy and got many choices. Only the parking area is very limited. We had to park beside the hotel. We love our beach scenery room very much.

So far the room view is nice. The location between town to hotel a bit far but nearby Batu Feringgi. The hotel limited parking. Still can park the other side building. The restaurant serves the food with reasonable price. It's became one of my favourite Hotel because easy access to beach and the hotel staff alert with safety issues include the changing weather. The room so far a bit old style. Got fridge and iron. The bed is clean and pillow smell good. Water pressure is good. So far 👍

Splendid! I had a great stay. Just that the hotel needs to improve on parking lots. The atmosphere was peaceful and nice. You can access the beach and swimming pool. The room is so spacious, with great interior arrangement. They provided no bottled water as their way to promote greener environment. Instead they provide drinking water directly from tap. There's a decent coffee bar. Toiletries provided. Mini fridge and ironing set are in the room too. I had a great breakfast here too. Lots of range from local food to western version of breakfast.

The view from our room was just great. My niece had her wedding organized there and they did a good job.

This hotel is an absolute gem! From the luxurious rooms to the impeccable service, every moment feels like a VIP experience. Coming to the end of a 2 week stay and have been thoroughly enjoying every minute. The staff especially the room guys are so lovely and polite. The rooms are very nice, very comfortable and excellent value for money. There aren't lots of beds around the pool but it's not a huge issue as there are other places to sit and relax. We didn't have breakfast included so I can't comment other than it seems popular. Only a 5 minute walk to viva food court (best chicken satay around) or 10 minute walk to lotus (tesco) further 5 minutes to straits Quay so that, combined with GRAB you really don't need a hire car. Having spent a lot of time in penang over the last 13 years the hotel ticks many boxes for a first time visitor if they want a chilled trip rather than the busy environment of George Town itself. I would definitely recommend staying here! Don't want to leave!

Has direct access to the beach area.

Nearer to town compared to hotels further down to Batu Ferringhi

Rooms are standard but comfortable.

No indoor parking.

Had a 3d2n stay here in late Dec. Hotel was in between Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi, therefore the travel to Georgetown was around 20-30mins with traffic. We didn't have trouble traveling though as Grab is easily available.

We booked the Superior King Room. Even though we didn't get the sea view, we were still satisfied with the room; spacious and cozy. We didn't spot any convenient stores nearby but there's a few just further down the road if you don't mind walking.

Enjoyed our stay there. Requested for extra beds but none was provided throughout the trip. Keys to Two rooms were handed over late to me at 530pm on check in day. Front Desk Michelle was kind enough to offer breakfast for us.

Great! I had a great stay! The room is cozy, provided with toiletries and mini coffee bar. There are also ironing set and a mini fridge for your convenience. The management practices go for green, thus they don't provide you with in house mineral water. They have installed a special tap just for water drinking. I had a great breakfast too, both Asian and Western. They have lots that I couldn't eat all :3 overall I am very satisfied and would come back again some day! Keep up the good service!

Relatively affordable, good location and very nice view if you are blessed with good weather. It is right in front of the beach with very beautiful sunrise.

This hotel is completed with a swimming pool, as well as a mini gym with well-maintained equipment.

Room are quite spacious do take note with the greener environment initiatives they do not provide plastic bottle. Instead, they provide a water filtration system in all rooms. That you have unlimited supply of drinking water.

Breakfasts are available depending on the room package selected. In terms of choices mainly English breakfast style, yogurt and fruit are available , and completed with a broad range of cordial beverages, tea and coffee.

Stayed couple of times for business purpose, if you don’t mind spending additional 15 minutes to City Centre, this can be a very nice hotel to stay with a tapas restaurant as well as small convenience store right at the next building about two minutes walking distance

We enjoyed our stay here. We had the sea view room at the 6th floor. Room is clean, and no musty smell ( which is crucial as I hv sensitive nose ). They provide 3M drinking water fr the tap!

Fusion Breakfast buffet is good. Guess it's not peak period , we get to sit outside while enjoying the sea breeze and food.

We did not get to go reccee other facilities within the property as we were tight on time. Lol.

We stayed in Mercure Penang for a month, up graded to a suite, just perfect, few of the beach and channel into Penang harbour. The staff and service was just first class and they made our stay. It was great value for money and if you go to Penang, go stay at Mercure, the location is just perfect, right on the beach and close to shopping.
