Alunan Resort

What a wonderful time we had at the Alunan resort!
It's the perfect place to go with your family or with your partner - you can relax, enjoy the sun, dive and swim on those pristine waters!
The staff is super friendly and helpful and the food on the Malaysian restaurant or in the Italian sunset deck is great! Of course it's a bit more expensive than the average Malaysian meal, but you are on an island, so it's normal that it's a bit pricier - but still, the portions are huge and most of the times we, as a couple, we were perfectly fine with one starter and one main dish to share.
The room is super spacious and very comfortable.
We've also done the Open water diving course and it was an amazing experience! Thank you Ming for your patience, joy and enthusiasm! It was really great!

Our experience at Alunan was great. The kindness and care we received from every staff member was our beyond our expectations, everyone was very welcoming and ready to satisfy our needs. We particularly appreciated the importance given to sustainability: the staff provided us with water bottles and water refillers could be find all over the resort; also, the resort has an ongoing coral project in order to save and protect corals. Right below the resort there’s a beautiful snorkeling point where you can see the coral reef and even baby sharks. The only thing we would have appreciated was to have a night light and a socket also in the room upstairs (we stayed in a room for 4). Overall, we really suggest to stay at Alunan for your Perhentian island holiday.

We had an awesome time throughout. Our heartfelt gratiture for the execellent services. The extra welcome birthday surprises, from room deco to celebration, simply made it more special.

I had an incredible experience with Ari! Her massage skills are top-notch - I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after the session. Not only is she skilled, but she's also incredibly courteous and always had a smile on her face. The positive energy she brings to the table enhances the overall experience. We spent a week at the Alunan Resort and had the most amazing experience. Each and every staff member was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. They took care of all our needs so we could simply enjoy ourselves. 10 out of 5 stars!
The hotel is built into the Perhentian jungle, so you’ll see green everywhere you look. It’s also right on a beach and if you wade a few meters into the water you‘ll find beautiful corals and lots of fish, so you have an ideal place for snorkeling right at your doorstep.
The room was beautiful, spacious and impeccably clean. All rooms have two floors and provide a stunning view of the ocean and the closest islands, oftentimes also the mainland.
The food in the two hotel-owned restaurants is super delicious and again the staff - including the chefs - are amazing people and try to make your stay as memorable as possible.
We added the Alunan Unlimited option to our booking, which is highly recommended. There is only one small restaurant in the near vicinity. Apart from that restaurant you’d have to catch a boat to a nearby village or Long Beach if you wanted to grab something to eat. We never regretted the unlimited option because, as already mentioned, the food was very tasty and in addition to all-inclusive food and drinks in both restaurants you also get a lot of other bonuses like some free excursions and discounts on the other excursions and spa treatments.
Last but not least, they try to do everything as eco-friendly as possible in the resort, which I find a great bonus. They even have their own coral restoration project, which you can become a part of with a small contribution.
So, all in all, don‘t hesitate to book your suite here, you will not regret it!

The marine biologist working there for the coral preservation was so humble during our snorkelling trip and explained everything in detailed to us!

Alunan just brought the mainland to the island. Beautifully decorated room, high speed internet everywhere, electricity is available throughout the day (there's a 5 seconds interval while they switch generator), water is not salty at all.

The food is just marvelous, it made it worth what you are paying for, the price might not be for everyone but once you taste it, you will understand why.

The services is great too, right from the jetty to the resort and back, they are very helpful, getting your luggage safely to where it supposed to go. You get acknowledge and greetings as you walk around the hotel by the hotel staff.

Took their snorkeling tour and the guide was very patience in explaining to us about the sea life and trying his best to get us a glimpse of sea turtles.

There is an app they use for their guest which is very useful as they are very responsive to my request when I reach out to them in the app and it's a good platform to be inform of any activities at the hotel. You can make bookings through the app, very convenient.

Overall it's really relaxing, will visit again if opportunity arises.

We had a beautiful stay on Alunan. The staff are super friendly, the room was lovely and the privacy you get on the island is lovely. The staff always sorted out a water taxi for us when we wanted to visit the other islands, so it was easy to get around. Service was pretty great and overall the experience was just incredibly relaxing.

Two months ago, we stayed here for 2 nights on our round-trip around the island.
We were warmly welcomed and found a room with a view of the sea. The kitchen staff is really kind and served excellent food for dinner and breakfast.
On the second day, we did a village trekking and truly enjoyed walking the three of us through the village.
The scenery was beautiful and it was a relief to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.
The natural bath at the end was a great way to end the trekking.
We really feel at home and will come back again.

Very exclusive resort, the room is very nice & clean. All room is with an upper deck private balcony so you can sit, relax and enjoy the scenery. The beach is full of coral and rocks and can enjoy snorkeling. There is a walking track can walk to the nearest village too.

Best place for healings not suggested for old folk to many stairs but staff very friendly and environment is so calm... people who want comfortable place this the right place tq for good service 👍🏻

The resort has a beautiful vertical setting, where each of the rooms has an upper balcony with the ocean view. The food is great here. However, the staff members are the best part about this resort, who are extremely warm and friendly, and provide excellent service. The resort is in an isolated place away from the Long Beach, which I loved because I wanted a proper getaway vacation.

The place is privileged enough to stay. Their staff was extremely nice and friendly. Its location is very strategic, and more peaceful. Really enjoy as I can have a nice little private beach outside my room. The water activities were the best!

We had a very good time at Alunan. The team is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our accommodation had great views and a little welcome present was waiting for us.
I also enjoyed the spa and offered excursions. The environmental effort in this resort is also quite present and i appreciate that.

My first reaction when I go this resort, wow. Because the view were so majestic. Location of this resort are strategic with a wonderful. I love ocean view so much. Very exclusive resort. The room are nice and clean. The food are good and delicious. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Their hospitality are tip top. I don’t mind if I need to pay more for this service and environment I got. Thank you for a great experience! I will come back again!

We had a great time in this resort. The staff are friendly. You can even do water activities such as kayaking, snorkelling and sailing. But one thing can forget is the food. It's delicious. You wake up and all you gotta do is eat. I truly recommend this place especially if you're planning for a short getaway during the holiday.

Nice and clean resort. If you head down to the beach be sure to wear snorkeling shoes. Stepping on dead corals and rocks could be a little painful. Located on hillside so need to take a small hike to rooms. Otherwise everything else is great.

Alunan Resort, rhythm of melody is the best place like soft peaceful music.The place was beautiful. Service is top 1 from top 10.. About food.. the absolute best mix of local goodies and Italian spread. Like - would you have expected to taste excellent Assam Fish, Rojak and Italian dishes . I’ve enjoyed my stay here. Kudos to the management and staff here. Yes they are not the cheapest resort, but once you get here you appreciate clearly why 😉

The location is fantastic, private beach, with great view. he staff were all very helpful and really accommodated all our requests: We had diving sessions with the hotel partner dive center and also were very friendly. The resort has a coral project which is awesome for the coral preservation and planting. Great for our kids education as there were biologist expert that provide talks around the great Perhenthians coral and environment. Food was delicious and of a good quality and freshness.
