Perhentian Island Resort

Long overdue review and a shoutout here!

We initially reserved a different hotel in the same island and were utterly disappointed with the condition of accomodation when we got there.
So we wanted to move to PIR.
Since we didn't have a reservation there, we wanted to check whether they have available rooms.
I found Faisal's number online and dropped him a message explaining the situation. He got back to us immediately and connected us with Suparno who is from the on-premises PIR staff. Suparno sorted out the accomodation and a pick up boat for us and got us to PIR immediately.

I would give 5 stars just for the prompt actions they have taken and for saving our vacation 😇.

The resort is located in a beautifl location. The beach is super clean and calm. It was so relaxing to walk on the beach at night and watch the sky full of stars. There are several swings and lounge chairs on the beach.

Our package included two snorkling sessions. The coach was super helpful and we saw beautful fishes, turtles and corals.

All the meals were served in a buffet. There wasn't so much variety but food was tasty. Specially the desserts.

The room and the bathroom was clean and well-kept. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Again, shoutout to Faisal and Suparno for providing great service!! 😇

Overall a very good experience and would love to recommend the place to anyone.

We read all reviews. But made the final decision to book the sea view villa.
Amazing place. Clean water, saw 5-6 turtles every day. We’re snorkelling. The reef was crashed a lot, but not bad. Atmosphere is unbelievable. Villa is fine. Clean, not noisy, bed is big and mantras is ok. Shabby furniture but not a big deal. Bathroom with a sewerage smell sometimes.
There are monkeys and squirrels at the territory of the hotel.
Breakfast is fine, you won’t be hungry. We didn’t expect too much, not a big deal.
Dinner is horrible, true. Go to Bubbu hotel restaurant by river boat. Don’t even waste your time.
We’re at the restaurant next to our hotel. Not bad.
No alcohol in PIR.
The beach, the bay is so amazing, that I will come back only to this hotel. We saw all hotels in Teo islands. PIR area is the best.

Room comfortable. Water pressure good.
Iron, hair dryer, fridge, vault, soap, shampoo, toothbrush are provided. It is a lot of fish you can discover in front of resort. But there is no fireshow here. It is suitable for those who want to healing and relaxing your mind. ✌🏻👍🏻

Beautiful, beautiful resort. The beach is a long stretch of dusty white sands. It has better area for swimming compared to other nearby resorts. And scenic too! Somewhat pricier than its neighbours, but I'd say the stay is worth of what you pay.

A bit pricey compared to next door hotel. However the view is magnificent. The hotel buffet spread is just ordinary, but acceptable. You can find big lizards( or komodo?) roaming in front of the balcony. Overall its a very nice hotel and not very crowded ( except in the morning because its a snorkelling point)

Amazing location, super friendly staff. Food was average, but great food in resorts nextdoor 3-5 mins walk. Pool and other facilities could use some TLC. But look at the beach and you’ll probably don’t care anymore.
The standard rooms were a bit below expectations, however after upgrading to a beachfront bungalow everything was just fine! Rooms were clean, in contrary to many other reviews.

Visited here early Oct which is low season. A bit rainy but overall not affected the snorkeling and beach activity. Food overall is good maybe low season the resort not fully occupied, not that bad as majority commented on the food. The beach is clean, easily can spot small shark, stingray and group of fishes below the jetty. Stayed at the Beach Front Room with the awesome sea view and can spot some cute squirrels climb up and down from the trees surrounded. Definitely worth of money!

The best part about this accommodation is the beach and their staff. The service is 10/10 and all the staff are so nice. They seem very patient in dealing with difficult guests at the check-in counter and always try their best to fulfill your requests. I took the full board package, the food was alright, definitely not 5 star. But there's plenty of options for each meal, pick what you like. The rooms and toilet are clean. My room was so near to the beach so that was a plus.

The beach is rather private cause it's separated from other resorts at the island. You can spot stingrays, baby sharks and all sorts of fishes right by the beach, especially in the morning. So if you're the kind that easily gets seasick and not a swimmer, you can just rent the gear and snorkel by the beach, which was enough for me.

The resort also has its own jetty. So after getting off the boat, the walk to the reception wasn't too far. There's also a porter that could help send your bags to the reception and to your room. Highly recommended if you're planning to bring family - elderly parents and kids. I'd definitely come here again.

We stayed in a sea view chalet with full board meals. Overall, we had a fantastic time at Perhentian Island Resort. Upon arrival at the jetty, we were awed by the beauty of the surroundings. The water was a shimmering blue which matched perfectly with the powdery white sand. A stunning beach. Colourful fishes can be spotted near the jetty and beach just off the resort. Canoeing through the crystal clear waters was a treat and also revealed coral reefs a little far out from the beach.Throughout our stay, staffs were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. From the reception to the dining staff, everyone made us feel welcome. Meals were very decent considering the price we paid and quite a number of menu items were delicious. The resort may be slightly worn but is still outstanding with a peaceful and relaxing vibe. Thumbs up and hope to be back soon😊. [Photo: View of beach from Perhentian Island Resort. Beautiful memories with our kids. Privacy and quiet resort. Water is crystal clear even when you reach the jetty there were school of fish kinda welcoming you 😂 Snorkeling friendly for kids just at the beachfront. We were lucky to have seen a group of stingrays so close to the shore on our morning walk and it was so surreal. Housekeeping team were very helpful and friendly, same goes to F&B and reception staffs. They always smile and patience enough to attend to our requests. Food was okay honestly. They provides BBQ night on Sunday and we had a great time! Weather cantik the whole trip! #blessed

Just 2 things that the resort must take into consideration:
1. To get/expect guests ARRIVAL with carriage ready for our luggages. Quite tiring by the time we reached the jetty with small kids and had to drag everything all the way to the reception.
2. Hygiene aspects in preparing the food to be improved

Overall, we’ll definitely come back so we can go for full board snorkeling esp when kids are bigger ❤

Facilities at on of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen!

Accommodations were decent. Nothing new, but also nothing to complain.
Very friendly staff.

Went with the 3D2N Snorkeling Package during low peak season (Ramadhan month), there were fewer people at the resort, which made the whole trip very relaxing. We stayed at the ocean deluxe room where we can walk out straight towards the beach. Food and service was smooth and great, especially by Ms. Amni, she always greeted us with a bright and genuine smile and always serves the best. We will definitely return.

These islands are very clean with clear water you can go scuba diving or maybe snorkelling.. We reached here with the help of a small ferry ride from Kuala besut jetty.. The islands were amazing..

Receptionists are super welcoming and helpful, and the resort is accommodating for those travelling with family, friends or partners. The breakfast buffet has a variety of food to choose from, and the restaurant staff are very friendly. You can swim in the beach just in front of the hotel, and rent snorkelling goods, and rent a boat to go around the islands at a minimal price. Highly recommended and would definitely come back!

We had a good experience in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They are always smiling and helpful. My son was not feeling well and they accommodated our requests for soup and cereals for his meals. The restaurant staff were very kind. They also arranged for us to get to clinic for a check up and get medicines.
The receptionists were efficient in booking for a ferry and taxi.

We stued in a beach front hut and the room.is clean and spacious. The resort is clean and the beach is great. Unfortunately we didn't get to dive because of the weather. We will definitely return to this resort.

Spend there 4 day 3 night. Love the resort, their staff also friendly. Just the hotel buffet menu is quite average, not much selection, much who cares right? We love the beach so much. Recommended hotel for staying.

Fantastic place to stay, rest and snorkel just off the beach. Really scenic and beautiful beach. Friendly and hospitable staff at the resort.

Best hotel and best islands in Malsia. You must go there once a life.

This is one of the best resorts in this island with great beaches, services, accommodation, food and snorkeling trips. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Room and toilet is sparkling clean, with electric kettle, small fridge and basic toiletries, towels, etc. Extra mattresses are comfortable too. Food is great as well and suited all ages. Environmental is greenish, natural with wild life such as squirrels, lizards, monkeys. Snorkeling in the sea in front of PIR can already find baby sharks, sting rays, turtle and colourful tropical fish. This beach has less dead corals on shore, so it's safe for the little one to play. Crystal clear water and fine white sandy beaches welcome you when you are onboard. It's a 5-stars experience for family with kids.

The view there is 💯. When I went snorkelling at the beach, I saw few clownfish with beautiful corals not too far away.
The beach was clean.
The hotel service was excellent. When my AC of my room wasn't working well, they took immediate action by changing my room. You can also rent volleyball, umbrella from them.
The room was spacious and functional. The water supply was also big and clean enough.
The sea taxi drivers were also fantastic! Feel free to ask them any questions, e.g. are there any dolphins nearby? The driver said yes! But they only saw them once in awhile.
I went kayaking. It was RM30/ hour/ canoe. It was an exciting experience! However, you should be careful as sometimes there will have big waves.
The food in Perhentian Island Resort was average, but plenty of choices. I hope they can improve their food. You can ask them to refill if needed.
