Truth be told I didn't visit. I had to cancel last minute but will update this when I visit. The reason for the review is customer service. LYN deserves a raise. It's always hard when booking a place you've never been. Punctuality with communication ans information given is so on point I had to write. She will guide you through every aspect of timing the flights with the transfers, what airports (there are two), weather for expected arrival and departure. Etc etc etc

What a wonderful experience so far, can't wait to update

Thank you Lyn

Stayed in the Super Deluxe chalets with sea view. Amazing view, room was good (except for the bed which was a bit hard) and compared to all the other accommodations this is by far the best. Also, a problem we encountered was solved in the best possible way. Recommended to stay here.

🔸Staff and service was excellent.
We had arrived at Kuala Besut bus terminal early in the morning and the resort office staff allowed us to come over and leave our bags before directing us to good local places for breakfast. All other staff were very receptive and helpful throughout the booking. The freelance staff (boat men, land transfer van driver) and the resort staff were all also very helpful, friendly and provided excellent service.

🔸Facilities at the resort and the boats were good quality. The premises, rooms and toilets in the rooms, towels etc were clean and well maintained. Checking in/out was done smoothly without any issues. There are plenty of safety gear to be used from the resort itself and lots of space to relax on their beachfront as well.

🔸Food was delicious and portions were large. Breakfast is largely continental with some local dishes, lunch and dinner are also a mix if ordered as part of their package and the bbq dinner was excellent.

🔸Travel packages are excellent and worth the price. We were brought on snorkeling trips and island hopping. The locations were beautiful, the safety gear was in good shape and the guides were fun! Enjoyable by adults and children.

Had an amazing trip with few friends and well taken care by the staffs. All of them are super attentive, communication of booking, land transfer and check in was smooth and easy! Plus point: meals served in full board package were amazing! Fresh baked croissant for breakfast and BBQ dinner for one of 3D2N stay! Saw sharks in our snorkelling trip!
Amenities are sufficient, comfortable room with good aircond and shower.

A wonderful place to go, thanks to the staff who were so nice and caring. It is certainly one of the best hotels on the island. The exposure is perfect, the bungalows clean and the restaurant very good, especially the Asian dishes.
I hope to be able to come back one day. Thanks again to KT, Ninh and Jimmy.

Stayed 3D2N full boarding package. Booking and payment communication were easy by reservation staff. Basic but comfortable and clean amenities in the room (No TV and wifi in the room but we didn't mind at all). Friendly and helpful staff in the resort We were well fed with delicious food, especially the BBQ dinner. Snorkeling trips were memorable too. You can even snorkel at the resort itself with its own mini lagoon that has corals and marine life.Thank you, Tuna Bay Island Resort!

I highly recommend the resort. We got a garden chalet, and it was spacious and very clean. The food is delicious albeit a bit pricey, but then again, everything is on the island. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beach is clean and you can snorkel in it as the water is clear, but most of the coral are bleached. However, you can still find a lot of fish (we even saw 2 huge parrot fish swimming among the coral - it was amazing!). Would definitely go again.

If you are looking for paradise, this is the most beautiful island I have ever been on and Tuna Bay the best place to stay!

The beach is amazing and only a few steps into the sea and you can already see fish! Also when snorkeling you can find Nemo the clownfish and his little family right in front of the beach in the sea. Water is so clear, even my 3 year old daughter could see the fish with and without goggles. 😍

Staff is so friendly! Making friends with our kids and watching our baby while he is walking around in the restaurant. Our kids loved the breakfast with pancakes and peanut butter. We also really enjoyed all the food, breakfast and dinner (bbq and so many other choices) very nice!! We had a wonderful week!

The beachfront chalet is fantastic, imagine just walk a few steps forward you can do snorkelling already (in front of the chalet!). The beach is incredibly beautiful. The sand is insanely fine and soft. Water is crystal clear, lots of fish and corals. The food is great 👍. The resort staff are very friendly. We'll definitely come here again.

My brother and I spent a 5 days here on a diving trip, from Australia. The place is cool. Quiet, calm and super relaxed. The clientele is predominantly Young European couples. We stayed in rooms 10a and 11a, facing the jungle. They were clean and comfortable. Wifi in deck area only, but that was good as we put down our phones. Food is unbelievably good. Every night the big fella (Yi) fires up the coals and cooks some of the best skewers I have ever tasted. All other food we ate was also of a very high quality. Staff friendly and accommodating. Facilities clean and basic. View off restaurant deck second to none. Universal diving, just next door met all of our needs. Very quiet, very relaxed and we had a great trip. Highly recommend.

Pretty and well managed resort. Big room with clean bathroom. Due to high occupancy and miscommunication, I have a chance to stay in few different types of room. Garden View room - some of the rooms are connecting with Beach Front room. My favorite is Sea View room where we have our own viewing deck and deck chairs. Food in the restaurant is nice, very big serving of fried rice, my daughter loves their tomyum soup. Will be back next time here is I able to get a room 😄

It was a great experience! Lovely staff, nice bungalow, you can just walk to the beach or even have a bungalow at the beach. The food has a good variety. Breakfast is simple but just fine. We went early in the season, i wouldn't recommend that. The view for snorkeling and diving wasn't that great. The next time we will go somewhere around June/ August!

We had a fantastic stay at Tuna Bay Resort and found it to be the perfect balance between being relatively affordable and still having a sense of luxury. We stayed in the sea view chalet on the full board snorkelling package which we felt was excellent value for money.
Whilst the room decor was slightly tired and the bathroom occasionally had a smell of sewage, the room was comfortable with good aircon, warm shower and a small fridge. We were anxious that there might be lots of bugs or mosquitoes around but didn’t have any in our room during our stay. We loved the decking area outside our room with our own sun loungers and the view was fantastic, with the beach right in front of the room.
The staff at tuna bay were fantastic and very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed our snorkelling trips out and these felt safe and well organised. We also loved having the reef right outside the resort which had loads of fish in! We also enjoyed walking to the beach at teluk k.k which had fewer corals near the shore and was better for swimming.
We got both the land and sea transfer through tuna bay and we found them to be smooth and efficient. The land transfer was a similar cost to a grab or local taxi from the airport.
We thought the full board food package was excellent value for money. Breakfast had a wide selection of cereal, fruit, cakes and cooked food including the egg station. Whilst they didn’t give us any food options for lunch, tea or dinner we thought everything was delicious and the portions were extremely generous.
We had a lovely stay on the beautiful island and would love to come back again one day.

We went for the 3D 2N snorkeling package.

Everything from the good communication in organising the booking, checking in and getting to the island, the food, the room and the friendlyness of staff - it was all top notch, really couldn't be faulted.

We saw in previous reviews how the staff were unfriendly and this is definitely not the case.

I must say this is a perfect resort for those with family. If you book the beachfront room, it'll take only 10 steps to reach the beach, literally. Amazing food range, especially bbq dinner, Oh My Fish and Satay! Breakfast was good. Friendly friendly friendly staffs. Easy access to many nearby places via Water Taxi.

Tuna Bay Island Resort is a great place of tranquillity to recharge your batteries and explore what the Perhentian Islands has to offer! The staff is friendly, the food is of good quality (especially the Asian dishes) and the location is just gorgeous!

As a 2-star Resort we couldn't be happier!

We recommend Tuna Bay Island Resort to anyone who wants to wind down and explore what the Perhentian Islands has to offer! Don't expect a super luxurious visit, but as 2-star Resorts go this one is really good!

If you have the opportunity, you should really consider booking one of the Beach chalets!
