Perfect place. Those complaining that it is too much into the nature maybe would prefer a concrete resort on the beach. Wooden huts perfectly fit the environment and still you basically sleep on the beach. Some animals may enter the hut but they are just cute squirrels.
Plus: I encountered black fin sharks in the bay, no need to go on a snorkeling tour.

Exactully what we wanted from an island paradise. I agree with the review below, those complaining about to much nature would probably be better of in a built up, concrete uninspiring resort on another beach. Keranji Beach Resort is a place you go to leave your modern needs and wants behind and take a step into something more laid back and authentic.
We took room 1, in our opinion the best room of the lot with a beautiful beach view. The room is simple but has what you need. Fans, bathroom, mosquito nets ect. Electricity is available at certain times of the day and throughout the night. Phone reception is weak but they have ok wifi at the resturant.
Resturant serves great food but works at its own speed. Don't expect fast and punctual service, that's not what this beach resort is about. Enjoy the slow paced nature of the island vibes. Price of the meals and drinks is appropriate considering the purchasing and transport that goes into getting things too and from the mainland.
Environment is perfection and I mean PERFECTION. Many people that visited this beach from other locations told us that it is, by far, the most beautiful on the island and after a few days we tend to agree. Great snorkelling just off the shore with pleanty of marine life to enjoy.
Snorkeling activities are available. We choose to do the Rawa Island trip which included three stops each an hour at every location for snorkeling. The trip in total cost 85 MYR per person. All stops are breathtakingly beautiful with water so clear and blue it will take your breath away. The last stop however was as beautiful as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
The owner is a very sweet gentleman who genuinely loves his beach and the island. I want to stress again that if you want absolute western comfort, this is definitely NOT for you. However, if you're looking for the perfect lost, laid back, authentic island experience this place is most definitely for you.
We will be back next year!!
Thankyou for the amazing experience Keranji. You're paradise is magical.

This place is like somewhere out of a movie!

We stayed in Room 1 with a brilliant view of the beach which was so special to wake up to every morning. The room itself is basic but with everything you need: refreshing semi-outdoor shower, western toilet, comfy double bed with mosquito nets and nice towels included.

The beach is the most beautiful on Perhentian, with soft white sand that is raked every day by staff and crystal clear warm water to swim in and we even saw a baby black tip shark passing by in the shallows. There are resident pet rabbits and lots of chickens running around the property which gives it a nice atmosphere.

The food quality at the beach cafe is excellent and we ate here for almost every meal and never got bored. Finally the staff are all very friendly and super accommodating. Cannot wait to return here for another holiday in the future, it's a true hidden gem of Malaysia.

Absolutely gorgeous little resort on a little beach that will give you a hint how it’s like in paradise.
Some huts have their own bathroom which is nice and some use the shared bathrooms, which‘ll also do just fine.
All of them have a little balcony with hammock and chairs.
The staff is very polite and engaged. The food is also very nice.
There is wifi at the cafe and electricity is turned off during daytime. In the evening and night time electricity works so you have lights in the hut and can charge your phone.

Snorkelling, however, apparently is not as enjoyable as it used to be (throughout alle the islands in that area). A lot of the corals died through a tropical storm in early 2020 😔

Conclusion: we loved to stay here and would recommend it 100%!

Fantastic secluded location, great staff and overall, such a great experience. We stayed for a week in room 2, without attached bathroom, which was no problem at all. The room is just by the beach, the view was amazing.
The walk to Coral Bay was ca 20 min and to Long beach ca 35 min (without stoppning for pictures), and went mainly through jungle, but on a paved path, so even walking at night was no problem as long as you had a torch. To buy a beer or a drink, you had to go to Coral Bay/Long beach, which was the only downside during our stay :) The rooms have fans, however the electricity is off main part of the day, but on during the night, so sleeping was quite comfortable.

Once again want to point out that the location was great, the athmosphere very chill and relaxed. Highly recommended!

Just before start of the season we were alone here for 1 week. Paradise on earth. Delicious food. Private beach. The quiet side of the ocean. Almost off-grid. Just wow. And affordable. Staff and owner go the extra mile.

BEST BEACH HOLIDAY! Situated at a secluded little corner on the island "Keranji Beach Resort" was such a refreshing holiday. So glad we got the opportunity to spend 3 nights, 4 days at this absolutely gorgeous property. We were 3 girls traveling alone and never once felt unsafe being on the island. The owners Azeez and Lan were the most welcoming host and the entire staff, making our trip the most memorable one, especially after coming out of the pandemic over the last 2 years.

I would rate the location, accommodation, staff, and FOOD a 5 star. We literally had all our meals at the resort restaurant because it was that good, probably some of the best I have had in my last 2 years in Malaysia. They even went a step ahead and organized a lovely BBQ/Grill dinner set up on the beach.

The resort is also pet friendly if you are looking for a perfect place for you and your pets to enjoy a great holiday at a beach destination.

Pretty awesome place with a private beach. The wildlife is absolutely incredible around the resort. Chipmunks running around, massive colorful fishes swimming a few meters away from the shore.... The huts are nice and in symbiosis with the surrounding nature. Manage your expectations when it comes to modern life comfort though. Overall, an amazing dive into the local nature and atmosphere.

I stayed for the third time now and still want to keep going back there. I had a romance holiday, a bestie holiday and a girl's trip (3 different times). You have a private beach in front of your stay, a hut with beach view or garden view, a restaurant with meals that taste so good that I ate all my meals there, make a request and you can have BBQ seafood night too. Owners Lan & Azeez (brothers) are super nice, felt such heart warmth welcome and listen to many interesting stories. Everyone who work and stay there are so nice. Lucky to found this gem

We had a very nice stay at Keranji Beach. We were in cabin 4 for 6 days, which has a very nice view on the water and you can hear the sounds of the waves splashing while you sleep. The place is very calm, a little bit further than anything else. We went to Coral Bay and Long Beach, and our little beach is the best on the island. So calm and sunny all day long. One thing, don’t bring snacks! We lost a bag to the squirrels. Apparently they really like chips. They come and go in the room as they want because it’s pretty much open everywhere. They also leave little gift behind them on the floor. It’s a rustic cabin, but the stay is worth it. You can disconnect and enjoy the view and the sunset every night. There’s a restaurant on place with ok price, you can also book everything from there. At the restaurant, they open a tab the first day and you just pay at the end so you don’t have to deal with cash each time. Enjoy :)

Great place. Isolated from other place, very private. It has its own cafe. There are jungle trek to the near village. You have to walk about 30 mins.

Highly recommend Keranji beach resort to traveller or people who are looking for an original, peaceful and beautiful holiday experience! :) It’s located at secluded part of Perhentian kecil with access to private beach, beautiful sunset, wood hut with sea view/forest view, a restaurant with delicious food (nasi goreng, roti with curry, gulai lemak aka yellow curry, mango milkshake and more!) and most importantly the genuine and amazing people!

We stayed there for 4D3N. Everyday we are waking up with sea breeze and amazing sea view, snorkelling at the shore in front of resort whenever we want, chill and having a nap at beachside/hammet, walking a short distance (5mins) to rainforest beach to see baby sharks, fishes etc, enjoying the story exchange and conversation with the friendly owners and staffs (Aziz, Lan, Lie etc) and filling our stomach with their yummy, well prepared food in restaurant! They even went beyond the extra mile to prepare the dinner setup at beachside (for one of the birthday girl) and gave us the most thoughtful and delicious seafood barbecue! The experience has been so amazing and sincere!

I want to say thank you again for Aziz, Lan and their staffs to provide us such a wonderful experience, just because they stay true to themselves (to stay original and knowing that they want to offer the beauty of nature to the guest who visit) and be so genuine and kind! I feel recharged after staying for few days! I would definitely visit again! :))

The Perhentian Islands, a stunning archipelago northeast off the Malaysian coast.

If you are looking for a perfect tropical paradise, then this is the right place for you! They've got them all, white sandy beaches, palm trees, crystal clear and warm water, a big variety of colorful sea life and the rain forest full of picturesque wildlife.

In this dreamy context you'll find the Mira Beach with its chalets, an astonishing complex of little cute stilt houses, overlooking this super beautiful beach. My wife and I stayed at one of their accommodation for 10€ per night, for both of us, which makes it clear on how awesome the prices are. The place also has a little restaurant with the best service. A special mention goes to the owner and his sweet family. Their friendly attitude will make your stay an unforgettable experience and you will feel like you are part of the family.

If you don't include the Perhentian in your journey to Malaysia, then you gotta be completely insane....if you don't stay at the Mira Beach Chalet, then your are an heretic sinner!

After spending some nights on the other side of the island, this feels like paradise. The hidden away Mira beach offers a private stay (8 huts only), which you would want on an exotic island. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. The rooms are very basic, don't expect anything fancy, but there's no need to. Days are spent on the outside.

Incredible hotel on the beach. Private beach and restaurant. It is sincerely the best place i have ever seen in my life. Everything is perfect, there are only 9 huts on the resort. Lots of wildlife, fishes, lizards, ants, crabs, corals, coco trees. You can rent snorkeling gear and also book some activities from around. 20min walk from Coral Bay and 45m from Long Beach. You guys must try this place

Spent (only) three nights at Keranji Beach resort, and while i was at first skeptical of our location in comparison to where the main beach and activities of the island were, the cleanliness and luxury of having your "own private beach" is well worth it. The accomodation is clean, comfy (even though we were stalked on by a squirrel) and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant is also great !

Best place to stay on the Perhentian Islands! Beach was amazing and super clean and the food at the cafe was the best we had on the island.

We've been there in 2014 and it's exactly the kind of spot we're always searching for. Not a touristic, but a quiet place with nice staff and perfect Robinson Crusoe beach feeling! If you prefer natural beauty instead of luxury, go there.

THE BEST CREW EVER!
And now all is in order.
Sorry about my English skills, but I want to leave here feedback, that can help more people to find this awesome place!
So. This place was created for you if you want:
*to be closer to nature, to meet lizards, squirrels, geckos, mice, bats and other inhabitants of the jungle
*to see quite and peaceful place where you can meditate or think about the eternal
*to have some rest from big megapolices
*to feel a power of nature, with its energy, that can fill you with new ideas, give motivation for your beginnings
*to enjoy clean beach with warm sea
*to see more types of fish and corald than even in the nearest snorkeling trips
*to find new friends and good people, with whom you can speak about everything matters for both of you
*(and finally) to try different asian food, really tasty and delicious asian food from the chief
We were happy with every meal and pleasant communication with interesting people.
The crew in this hotel is functioning as one large organism, very smoothly and efficiently. Thank you for this almost week in paradise! It was first time we found a place where we didn’t want to leave. It was amazing vacation and we will definitely visit your hotel again!!!
