Tairyo Japanese Restaurant大漁日本料理

Visited this place on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it was quiet with just two tables occupied. The menu has a lot of options. Wagyu Sukiyaki tasted great though I wished there were more wagyu pieces to savour. Tempura was hot and crispy, just perfect. Overall the food was good. I’ll be back to try more from the menu.

2 things I felt worth mentioning. One is that their Wasabi looks to be freshly ground, not the artifical ones that you get elsewhere. Secondly, if you are really or lucky, they have dedicated parking for their customers in front of the restaurant.

I enjoyed their food today. Everything was above average. The sashimi was fresh and nicely sliced. Sushi rolls well packed and delicious. Bento set had good amount of food to fill you up.

The surprising food I had was the unagi liver skewer. Tasted better than I expected. Well grilled but the sauce a tad bit on the salty side. Staffs were friendly and efficient. Thumbs up and keep it up.

Have been visited here for several times (almost everytime when I stay in Iconic Hotel). Nice Japanese food with good service plus 10% discount if you’re Iconic guest :)

Nice and fresh place for sushi and sashimi 😊 Nice environment and staff service there. Sashimi very fresh and great to enjoy as dinner. Unagi Ochazuke soup very nice and fresh. Like the soup very much.👍🏻 only thing need to come early for parking space limited car park here 👍🏻

Environment quite and good, food is good as well, they got special carpark for their guest, hence no need to worry on summon for parking, can also call to book for private room, recommend to try out~ got customer carpark too

All the raw food are fresh and their fried rice is surprisingly good. Loving their private room for family gathering, big and comfortable.

Nice and cozy environment, price are around the same with Maze (another Japanese Restaurant in Icon City), food is ok. During the visit restaurant is quite busy.

My second time here. The Japanese food here is really nice. This is one of the restaurant that I will revisit.

Stepping into Tairyo which could be unbeknownst to many especially in quaint little Bukit Mertajam - my family and I were amazed by the food quality and top notch service provided.

The rest of the recommendations would’ve already covered how great and fresh the food is, hence I will skip that.

But what Id like to call out is the above-the-rest service provided by Daniel (whom we think is the supervisor) who was extremely attentive to our needs (not expected for a supervisor who’s meant to be managing his staff) - from voluntarily taking our family photos (as he found out about the birthday celebration - and top notch if I’ll add) to patiently attending to our many requests, and ultimately giving us a discount on our corkage fee when his staff did not sufficiently clarify on the difference between a 720ml bottle vs a 1.8L bottle when we sought to confirm prior to our arrival.

Personally I feel it's cheaper than KAZE but taste somehow similar with it. Not bad la. Friendly staff.
But not really like the fried porklet, so-so, it's dried inside.
Then the gyoza not bad, juicy!

Had business dinner here. Good service and food tasted great for a Japanese restaurant. My chirashi bowl was great.

1st time here. The experience was great. Worth the price. Waiters is attentive.

Visited this place with my japanese colleagues. The food and atmosphere were overall amazing. Nice place to chat and catch up. A young, tall guy waiter who worked there also attended us very attentively and he was able to converse in japanese with my colleagues when they had inquiries, which was another plus point. Would definitely visit again.

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions for me as a Japanese restaurant around this area! Delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide list of sake and wonderful work on the sashimi. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again. It’s a great experience.
