Well worth a visit, great restaurants and Street food. Even vegitarians catered for. Plenty of original material shops. My wife enjoys looking at and buying Indian stainless bowls and cups.

In the golden eve, I strolled through the street,
Penang's Little India, a cultural treat.
Colors danced around, vibrant and bright,
A symphony of sights, a mesmerizing sight.

The aroma of spices filled the air,
Aromatic secrets, stories to share.
I wandered through stalls, a treasure trove,
Hues of silk, bangles that spoke of love.

Temples adorned with intricate art,
A sacred aura that touched my heart.
Devotees' prayers, a harmonious song,
In this sacred haven, I belong.

A feast for senses, every step I take,
From savory delights to sweets to partake.
Dazzling lights and music's sweet embrace,
In this enchanting world, I found my place.

As twilight descended, my heart felt complete,
In Penang's Little India, a memory sweet.
I'll cherish this night, forever it'll shine,
A magical journey, this soul of mine.

A hodgepodge of Indian culture! I love all Indian food I have enjoyed here, from hawker stall to restaurants, everything is good. Btw just realised that authentic Indian stalls are definitely different from mamak, it's good to know.

There are also some stunning Indian clothes that are truly affordable selling here. (But I'm not sure if it is the cheapest if compared with other places) Can try to buy one or two pieces if you are interested.

Always enjoyed this area. Great freshly made Samosas and a lovely lady (and husband) who do very cheap Popia and teh o ice. Shops aren't pushy to sell you their wares.
Woodlands veggie restaurant is fantastic - our favourite sit in place (and I'm not even vegetarian!!).
Colourful and musical with wonderful smells.

Always a go to place when we have time.

For me when I'm visiting another country I come mainly to the Little India areas for the food. Wasn't disappointed some great good from cheap banana leaf curry's to more high end. Tried a few places and enjoyed everything I ordered. Large Muslim Mosque in the area which is worth seeing.

Can purchase Indian spices as well all household prayer items. Lots of jewellery shop, few food stalls and the most amazing is the hospitality shown by all the shopkeepers.

Absolutely love Little India, you forget you are in Malaysia and we were taken back to our travels in India, the smells, the colors and noise.
We used the supermarkets to buy products we brought in India, Himalaya toothpaste, spices and insence.
