Currently sat in this restaurant after eating the most delicious lunch! Walked in off the street with no expectations and was so blown away I had to come here to review. Service was excellent, drinks were out within a minute of ordering, and food within 10 minutes and it tasted phenomenal! Highly recommend!

Love the food, atmosphere and choice of music! We had the fish of the day and fish and chips with the shellfish soup. The fish was so nice! And the chips were incredibly delicious!!!! Also, staff are nice!

You have to go here! I had their shredded lamb with potatoes, salmon and cheese (from burrata) and so delicious and vibrant. Very flavorful and fresh. Staff is hospitable and kind.

We stopped by for lunch and had very good Fish of the Day and Fish n Chips - with awesome crispy fries! Price was also okay (for Islandic prices). Very friendly staff - always smiling and helpful. Thanks!

Recently returned from our short break in Iceland. We dined at Solon as recommended by our Concierge. We had an initial mix up with the booking, not the fault of the restaurant, so ate on a different night. The Manager was very accommodating to rectify the initial problem

The food and service were exceptional. The fish and chips was not only delicious but also pleasantly non-greasy, which I greatly appreciated. What truly stood out to me, however, were the desserts. I highly recommend saving room for one; they were the highlight of the dining experience. Please don't leave without trying them! It was truly an exceptional experience.

Great food and wonderful service. Ask for Eleanora- she is a very kind and attentive waitress. Main course was Lin (a cousin to cod) with risotto and lobster soup. Both worth every Krona! then Served us the most amazing homemade Tiramisu (her Grandmother’s recipe)!

This place is accepting on period don't let the name fool you. The avocado toast with picked 🍅 arugula and straciatela cheese is divine. Friendly staff and over all 5 star experiences. Best avo toast I've ever had. It's on their Icelandic rye bread which is very soft on the inside and very tasty. This will make you enjoy rye bread for those who maybe don't like it in your home country.

I came with my partner during lunch time to see that the tables were busy but the male waitress was very friendly and accommodating to let us sit in the other section which was quiet.

Food itself was delicious. We had absolutely amazing chicken snitzchel shaped in heart. Will come back! 🧡

Really good place in the city center. The steak burger was good and my friend liked his schnitzel. They had the draft beer and house wine at 1000 isk during the happy hour, which was a nice surprise. There were 2 waitresses there at the time (one of them Italian if my ears got her accent right) and both of them were fantastic; attentive, polite and always with a smile on their face. They definitely deserve compliments. Thank you for recommending the lemon tart, by the way. It was delicious. I will repeat for sure.

Great place for dinner and drinks. Nice music and lively atmosphere. Service was exceptional considering how busy it was. Fish and chips was delicious. Steak also amazing. 5 stars!

Very yummy and pretty restaurant. Service was fast.

We had dinner and opted for two local, fresh fish dishes. Both fish were cooked to perfection and were accompanied by equally beautifully prepared vegetables, potatoes and sauces. Whoever the chefs cooked knew what they were doing, that included the dessert.
The servìce was excellent. We asked for recommendation on the wines and they were perfect matches, including a red wine with fish. The dinner was excellent value for money.
The great surprice came the following day when joining a local food tour through 5 top city eatries it included the Solon. The tour guide explained the longstanding history, tradition and remarkable reputation of this establishment as one of the best in the country. Not only is this a perfect venue for a lunch or dinner but it includes banquetting rooms. Know doubt, eating at the Solon is something special.

Was really good! I Got the lamb shank, and it was delicious. Staff was super friendly and patient.

I have known Solon only as club location prior to COVID. It is actually a great place for lunch as they change their menu weekly or maybe even daily. Extensive selection of wines by the glass.
