So confused at the bad reviews for this hotel! The rooms are modern, clean, & well appointed. Breakfast was good and had the variety that you’d expect to find in Europe. You can’t beat the ocean front lounge chairs & swimming area. We did not get a massage but the spa area was beautiful. Yes this hotel is a 20 min walk from town but it’s a lovely walk :) I recommend this hotel!

This is more of a 4.5 rather than a 5 simply because the bathroom and much of the hotel do need an update (it's very dated but nothing that wasn't advertised). The breakfast is basic and dwindle towards the end of our trip because it's the last day of the season (we visited in the first week of October). The private beach cove is absolutely stunning and quiet with plenty of sun beds - not sure about the peak season though. The service has been nothing but kind. The location is actually not that far from Hvar town considering you have a very lovely paved walkway along the coast. 15-20 minutes is a normal amount that most Europeans walk from A to B (plus a handful of steps) so anyone complaining about this needs to reconsider their life choices. The hotel shouldn't be penalised for being 'far' from town - this is obvious from Google Maps if you've done your research prior to arrival.

Fabulous location just outside Hvar town. Easy 15 minute walk into town. Good swimming spot and lovely views. Really helpful staff and there are some good day trips to go on. Room was big but shower was a bit dribbly though!

The hotel is really a little bit outdated regarding style and furnitures, but really very well maintained!!! Location with private beach, 15 mins walk from Hvar town center, free parking, excellent service from all the staff, always with a smile(!) , especially to mention the professional and welcoming service of Mia at the reception (!), you feel they really care for you in any aspect and request. Also restaurant was great!
They also have a nice private water taxi to the island around Hvar, very recommended!!!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Hotel Podstine. Here are my notes…

— Location is perfect. The hotel is located on a private cove away from the hustle and bustle of town. Hvar is a PARTY town, and it can be exhausting to hear club music and drunk Brits hollering all day and night. The Podstine is quiet and peaceful. You can relax on a lounge chair by the sea and the only sound is birds and waves lapping on the swim deck.
—Walk to town is about 15 minutes and is along the most beautiful promenade (riva) you could imagine. A lot of lazy and or stupid people have critiqued this walk. If you want to be in town, and you are too stupid to look at the map of where you are booking, that’s a you issue! The riva is polished limestone walkway weaves along the waters edge, affording you incredible views of the ocean while you walk under beautiful Aleppo pines.
—Staff are very kind. We especially loved Maya and Svetlana, the beach bartenders, who served us incredible cocktails while we relaxed and read on lounge chairs.
—Breakfast is great. Lots of choices! Almost too many choices but that’s a good thing! I’d skip dinner in the hotel and walk to the Pizzeria that’s two blocks away. FYI it’s one of the best restaurants we went to in 14 days of island hopping in Dalmatia. Much more too offer than pizza.
—Hotel is full of character and sometimes that means things aren’t as slick and soulless as a Holiday Inn. I noticed other guests complaining about minor details. Ignore these people. The rooms were great and came with lots of nice details like tooth brushes and shoe polishing kits, and a plethora of towels.

Overall I would say this is a great place to stay if you are 30+ and want to relax. It’s so easy to walk to town, and it’s so nice to be a safe distance from the club.

We stayed here for four nights on our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. One of the only hotels in the area to have waterfront access, close enough to walk to Hvar Town (20minutes) but far enough to avoid the noise/traffic. The breakfast is solid, a mix of foods geared towards European and American crowds, and restaurant staff is fantastic. Everyone is super helpful, never had to worry about getting a beach chair, and bartenders were quick to bring drinks right down to wherever we were sitting.

Downsides are that it’s a little dated (key-in locks rather than cards) and restaurant food was just okay compared to what’s in Hvar Town (but to be fair, the food in Hvar Town is ridiculously good). We still went there a few times though, especially for drinks and lunches. All very reasonably priced.

Also, the hotel sits on a cove near President’s Beach with a small dock where you can jump in the ocean, then float down to a ladder ~100ft away or just chill in the water, so relaxing. For the price, I think this hotel is very tough to beat.

Fantastic location! 15-20 minute walk to the city center. The water is pristine. There is also a diving center directly next door which offera discovery dives to newbies.

This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip to Croatia. It is perfectly situated on the rock cliffs of Hvar and gets the sun all day. Everything about this place is amazing, yet unpretentious: the service, the views, sea access, day beds, friendly staff, delicious food and cocktails etc. We could have stayed here for weeks longer as it was just so relaxing. It's also an easy walk into down, along the boardwalk and you can stop into restaurants and bars along the way. If walking is not your thing, the hotel can arrange private boat pick-ups to town or the surrounding islands. You would be hard pressed to find a better hotel in Hvar, especially for the cost. Don't miss this place.

Had some trouble with some party animals next door though the lovely Staff sorted us out with another room. Lovely place to chill. A little further from town than we would have liked but with that comes more privacy and an idyllic private beach. Maybe we will return some time soon

Awesome service. Super friendly staff. Happy hour 4-6 pm every day. If you want a place close to the city center or want fresh fruit for breakfast, then consider another property. Pool is not too big but plenty of water front property. Will stay here again.

Brilliant hotel in Hvar. Fantastic location and excellent staff. Go over and above to help. Our ferry to Dubrovnik was cancelled at the last minute and the staff helped us figure out how to get there, hired car for us and even dropped us off to the port, as I had a very young child with me. Will be coming back.

Beatiful hotel, great and quiet location,
Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Only the food at the restaurant is not that good and a bit overpriced for what you get. And the internet inour room did not work but worked great at the beach and restaurant.

I didn’t stay overnight here, but we used their spa and beach facilities. It was so awesome to find this oasis away from busy town center.
