Our dining experience was nothing short of phenomenal. The combination of outstanding food, top-notch service, and a charming ambience make it a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. Hope I can return and explore more of their menu.
Still can’t get over the sweet rakia (I think it was plum) that was served while we are waiting for our table. Absolutely delicious. 😊

P.S. No reservations after 7pm. To secure a spot, calling to join the waiting list is a must. Trust me, it’s entirely worth the effort. 😊

Highly recommend eating here when visiting Hvar. The waiters are all very attentive and explain your dish to you. The cocktails are really good. The brodetto is a Croatian fish dish and was so nice. Seated on the steps of a backstreet is the perfect setting. On the expensive side but not too bad.

Hands down this was the best restaurant whilst we were visiting hvar. Service was very attentive, and anyone looking for. Restaurant- I’d highly recommend.

Really good portion size. I highly recommend the Truffali. I also ordered the lambada- which was one of the best lamb I’ve tried.

Outstanding food - highly recommend the truffle pasta, the octopus, the seafood risotto, the eggplant steak, the tuna tartare and the burrata. Service was good though the waiter was inflexible about payment method, which was a bit annoying. Having said that, it was an outstanding lunch in a very cool vibe / atmosphere with great views. Highly recommend (but take care that they cannot accommodate adjustments to payment method).

One of the best best restaurants we dined at during our trip to Croatia! We had just walked in with no reservation and they found us a nice table. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. One of the best beef tartares I ever had, the truffle ravioli, the lamb, the steak, everything was delicious. If you are a fan of basil I recommend their gin basil smash, the perfect summer cocktail!

This is an excellent restaurant. Quite possibly one of the best I've ever been to. The service was friendly and impeccable. The food was incredibly well presented and was delicious. Nothing was an afterthought. A great dining experience.

Absolutely loved this place. The food was excellent, compliments to the chef bringing out the best of flavours in every meal we had. We had the lamb gnocchi, lamb main course meal and the RAW dessert which was all made to perfection. Plus the place is in an old Croatian street which creates great scenery. Would definitely recommend this place!

So happy I found this restaurant walking past in Hvar. I was only here for the night but I had a fantastic dinner. The area is super cute, very nice vibe sitting by the stairs with all the lights. The service was great, every dish was very yummy, especially the sea bass. Very nice plate presentation. Very good local wine selection. Glad I had the chance to eat here

This place was delicious. I got the Barata salad and the lamb. Most tear meat I’ve had in a long time. Everyone told me to go to this place when visiting Hvar and I understand why. You should definitely go!

INCREDIBLE experience from beginning to end! Marco took the most amazing care of us. His knowledge of food and wine was impeccable. Every bite was mouth watering. Espresso martinis were on point, and let not forget about the red wine. Hands down best restaurant in Hvar.

Truly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at, hands down. I’m 24, I’ve lived/traveled all over the world, and currently live in NYC. Black pepper was still truly one of the best and most delicious places I’ve ever been too. The service was impeccable, our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable. They brought out a complimentary pre dinner aperitif and a tuna pate with homemade cracker. Our actual meal was to die for - the flavors were exquisite. My cocktail “the 6 to the 9” was refreshing and delicious as well. It is a mistake to miss this place while in Hvar!!! They should honestly have a Michelin star.

By far the best restaurant we visited in Croatia. Food was absolutely incredible and well worth the prices. The service was also impeccable, all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, an absolute must if you are visiting Hvar.

Absolutely fantastic dinner here. Service with a smile and couldn't do more to help. We even got to try the wines before selecting what to choose. Food was very well presented and all delicious. We shared the burrata to start followed by octopus and the lemon risotto. Puddings we had the chocolate brownie and the flan. Both srummy. Worth the little bit extra than other places. Also a cute location sat on the steps outside as the light changed and the sun went down. Wonderful first night in Hvar.

This is my favorite restaurant in Hvar! The food here is amazing! The service is great, with very friendly and accommodating staff! We were in Hvar for a week and ate here two times. All the food is locally inspired, and lots of local wine. The truffle ravioli was our favorite! Also very cozy place situated in an “alley”

Amazing experience while we were in Hvar! Service was great and the food was just as good. It’s a little bit pricey but we treated it as a special dinner and it fulfilled that completely.

Prior to our dishes we got a complimentary shot and a pea purée, which were both great. For starter we shared a tuna bruschetta which was amazing, easily the best dish we had and just so much flavour. For main we had the cauliflower steak and the sea bass - both were really nice, so much flavour packed into the cauliflower. Finally for desert we shared a vanilla flan, which was a perfect end to the meal.

All in all, really good service and food, definitely recommend going if you’re in Hvar. Reserve online to save having to wait for a table

This place is truly a five star experience. Aside from the higher than normal prices (making this a little less of a value) the experience was worth it. The seating is laid across the wide stairs going up the hill. I’m sure they have seating inside as well. They brought out a local liquor for us to try and were very helpful with explaining the menu. They even gave us a small entry plate of a green bean cream and cauliflower. It was like nothing else I’ve had before and it was very good. We got the tuna and sea bass dishes and both were very complex and unique. The tuna was cooked perfectly and crusted for a great taste. The cocktails were expensive but very well crafted. The gin basil smash was really refreshing and the basil boat atop it gave it a great smell upon sipping. Overall, it was a great experience and should be seen as a place you go for a nice dinner and not just a normal outing.

If you want a truly local dining experience while in Hvar, Black Pepper Restaurant is a must.

We were greeted by friendly staff who were attentive throughout the dinner. The meal started with a complimentary homemade shot and a cauliflower purée, which was a very nice touch.

The beef tartare was fresh and flavourful, and the duck was cooked to perfection. The octopus was also a stand-out dish - it was tender and had great flavour.

The wine selection at Black Pepper Restaurant is excellent, and the prices are on par with other similar places in Hvar. Overall, we had a great experience at Black Pepper Restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a unique setting. Thanks for the great food and service!

We stumbled upon this place and I am so glad we did. The service and the food was exceptional. With our meal choice the waiter offered his recommendations of what to drink. The service was truly superb and the food delicious. Great atmosphere. A restaurant not to be missed on a trip to Hvar.

Had a wonderful evening and meal here and thoroughly enjoyed the outside atmosphere as well as the food!

Our waiter, Milos, made the evening special by making recommendations for wine and beer, and also allowed us to sample some grappa and a little muscat.

The evening was cool and crisp but well worth the little jaunt into downtown Hvar!
