The nicest people in Purley! Friendly and amazing customer service. 100% trustworthy! I left my phone and wallet on the counter by mistake whilst doing my bus pass for the week, they went out of their way to get into contact with me to return the items with everything as I left it. Hard to find people like this in the world anymore! Also brilliant customer service for doing western union the guy is so friendly and efficient takes no time at all! Really recommend this shop!

Amazing customer service. Sunny in particular is a legend. I once had a really bad stomach and unfortunately followed through a little bit after a watery fart in the shop. I tried to hide it but the smell was too pungent. Sunny told me not to be embarrassed and gave me some wet wipes on the house. Love him and the shop!

My experiences here have all been good. Staff are polite, products wise it is like most convenience stores and fair prices.

Its always Good News when you go into Goods News Newsagent. I have been coming here for the last 10 years, over this time the owner Mahendra Bi has always offered great customer service and a friendly chat. In the day n age of big supermarket chains, the service I get from Good News I simply wouldn't get from the bigger supermarkets. Mahendra knows me by my name, he know exactly what I need soon as I come in, which is a half bottle of Glenns, 20 deck of Rothmans and my fave magazine Trannie World. I saw that someone mentioned that Good News are penny pinchers, I just want to say this is not the case, about 2 years ago Mahendra hired someone called S.Stylez who did do this and pocketed the pennies. he was hired to cover while Mahendra was on a world tour which he thoroughly deserved. When he came back and found out S.Stylez was sacked immediately. I don't usually write reviews but seeing the negative feedback I wanted people to know the real story.

The man was very helpful and friendly!! Very friendly shop. And I was grateful the way he helps me with western union and other stuffs.

Handy corner shop for the usual essential groceries. Have always been very friendly and good place to return Amazon parcels.

As another reviewer said below, these guys are happy to sell scratchcards but if you try and collect winnings they always say "machine's broken". This has happened on FOUR occasions in the last month or so. I no longer buy any lottery products from here

They refuse to pay out on winning lottery tickets and scratchcards. They always say their machine is "broken" yet they're happy to sell you more. They obviously think their customers are stupid

Awful shop. Everytime I go in there the staff are rude and have an excuse; this machines not working, that machines not working. Had a parcel sent to them and despite having received the email saying they had it when I arrived at one in the afternoon, guess what, the machines not working and I have to come back at 3. No doubt it won't work then. Useless. Don't shop here!

Incredibly rude staff so ended up buying items elsewhere and for cheaper - certainly don't like being spoken to like shite so I would advise people to shop in the other convenience stores along the same road and avoid this RUDE shop.
