B&Q Colchester Tollgate

Bright and shiny! Found everything I needed to tile my bathroom floor easy, good choice of tiles and everything else I needed close by, so no hunting around the store looking for them. Only downside I had of visiting the new store was the screw I picked up in my new tyre resulting in a flat tyre by the time I came out! I was parked next to the entrance and not one offer of help.so turned out a very expensive trip to get a few tiles!

Very impressive store. Everything you need for DIY and gardening in one place. Good range of paints available also they can mix colours while you wait. Very helpful staff. Plenty of parking. Wheelchair friendly.

Well worth a visit. The M&S cafe was smart and they have very nice toilets. The ordering system tested our grey cells but the drinks were delivered very quickly. Would go again.

One of the largest stores I visited. Well laid out with plenty of staff to ask for help. Only downside is lack of manned tills. I had to buy something that wasn't barcodes and had to wait until they opened up a manned till.

The garden centre has lots to choose from and the plants are not all that expensive either.

So easy to access for disabled people. It is so huge and the always well stocked .,very engaging staff and easy parking and accessible tills what more could you want

10/10 Service, friendly knowledgeable staff that were willing to help and go the extra mile. Geoff helped me today and cut some plywood up for me perfectly. I feel blessed to have this on my doorstep. I hope a team like this team get the credit they deserve!

Had a great shopping experience this afternoon . I asked for help . I had measurements and needed I know how many boxes of tiles I needed . A young lad called Toby came, worked out how boxes I needed and how much it would cost . He got a Trolley and helped me load the boxes then took me to the gout and fixing adhesive and loaded that onto the trolley . He even offered to help me load the car after I had paid , which he then did !!!

Great service from Tollgate after I had a delivery of some furniture board which I had ordered online. One of the boards was damaged and I needed its replacement as quickly as possible. The colleague at Tollgate who sorted it out over the phone for me was really helpful and a perfect board arrived the next day. Both drivers…Phil and Steven…were polite and friendly. Thank you.

We have now been to the store in Colchester at least 3 times. We’ve recently ordered a kitchen and we are very happy with it. We’ve had a few missing bits and some inner drawer fronts we’re the wrong size, we understand completely that this can happen. The staff dealt with this problem with professional manners they were extremely helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this store and the training of the staff as excellent. Well done. Excellent DIY and everything you need all under one roof. Covers a vast space all well set out and stocked. Plenty of easy access parking pleasant staff

About a month ago I was helped by two young staff who went out of their way to help me. They were extremely courteous and very kind and did not give up until they had solved the problem. I meant to thank them online straightaway but I forgot until now. It was the best service from shop staff I ever had.

My first visit since this new B&Q store opened. I was actually shopping for bathroom tiles. What a well thought out store plan, the garden centre, a separate endity to the rest of store was my favorite. Lots of garden room sets, giving inspirational ideas, they have reduced the live plant area, making it less cluttered, B&Q could never compete with the big garden centres in the area, which sell so much more and do it so much better, so its probably not a bad move on B&Qs part, perhaps they should focus on the hard landscaping and garden rooms. I loved the room sets for bathrooms and office space, this is the way to make sales, giving the public inspiration, they can adapt to suit their projects. The whole store is has plenty of room between shelving and there seemed to be several greeters around the store giving direction, it would be great if they kept this particular role going. In all a much better store than many of the older stores, and plenty of staff around should you need help.

B&Q is the best place to go for your DIY needs. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The range of products with everything from paint to mouse traps is vast and well priced.

Good prices for garden chairs. Very quiet on a Monday afternoon so no queues at the tills.

First visit to this new store, which I found to be very quite when I arrived at 17:30. There were very few staff but I was able to locate exactly what I needed due to the well signposted areas. Self checkout available which ment that it only took me a few minutes to and I was out of there.

Great service went in for some essentials and ply. Which was all cut to the right size I needed with their free cutting service. Cutting staff very friendly and quick.

Very big B&Q. Has lots of great products and ideas. Really good that you can click and collect, so you know they definitely have what you need.

Great selection! This store isn't our nearest B&Q, but we travel slightly further just to come here for the modern store, wise selection and overall nice shopping experience.

Perfect DIY Store, will always use them, some staff do not want to communicate or help public, shame.

Its B&Q it is what it is. I have always found what I needed was in stock but I do check online before I go. Staff are mostly friendly and helpful and the fella at the cutting service when I used it on this occasion was really cheerful and helpful.
