Sun Inn Dedham

I have been here a few times to eat and a couple of times to drink. I have never stayed overnight in the hotel.
The food is a fair price for the position size and quality, service is relaxed yet professional and the dinning area feels separate from the pub.
It has open fires in the colder months and comfy seating for enjoying a drink. Dogs welcome.

The food here is incredible! I eat out quite a bit and I have to say the quality of all the dishes we had was remarkable.

The mussels were so fresh, the steak was perfectly cooked, the gnocchi was so packed full of flavour and the crab was some of the freshest I've eaten.
It's just such a shame I had no room for dessert!

I have now visited The Sun two time for dinner and these are two of the most enjoyable meals I have ever had. The steak is some of the best I have ever had with a wonderfully deep and rich flavour I cannot recommend highly enough. The decor is very tastefully done and creates a delightful intimate dining experience. The staff have been willing to provide guidance through menu as well as recommendations which have only enhanced the experience. Thank you for such memorable occasions

We had a lovely stay here. The place oozes history. The room we stayed in was large and the bed was massive. We enjoyed the breakfast there was a good choice of hot food and a good selection for continental. The dinner was amazing the steak and the venison were melt in your mouth. The mussels were huge and the beef Ragu was delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We loved the roaring fires throughout the pub. There was a great selection of drinks including cocktails, beer and wine. This is a great place to stay to visit the dedham vale and to have a relaxing weekend. I would definitely come back!!

Absolutely amazing dinner! Every dish was beautifully presented and expertly cooked. The wine selection was impressive. Atmosphere and surroundings very special. We didn't stay the night so don't know about the rooms.

Lovely meal on Christmas Eve. Everything was superb. Service was a bit slow but the pub and restaurant were very busy which was expected for Christmas Eve. Can’t wait to return when the next seasonal menu is out. Can’t comment on the hotel as we did not stay.

Very nice and spacious rooms. Comfortable bed. No bottle water in the room and no milk for coffee. No instant coffee.

Old signposting from covid time around pub so is asking you to go much longer way but in reality you could just walk from car park through the back door. Entrance to car bark is very narrow between houses so I had to fold my mirrors in bmw x5. Soeciois car park and beautiful garden to relax.

Reception is in the bar so if they are busy, you just waiting with your bags until they serve you.

Food is amazing. Atmosphere very friendly. And very good service.

Roast Beef and Roast Pork were Wonderful - children's food was also a really good quality.

Despite horrible parking it's still a warm, rustic old fashioned establishment with great food(more vegetarian options next time please) and outstanding,warm and friendly service.

We came here for a drink one Sunday 2 years ago, and loved it. My boyfriend surprised me with a 2 night stay here for my 30th birthday. It was truly incredible. The rooms are lovely, the staff are friendly and the food is absolutely fantastic. Would highly recommend. Wish we were staying longer, but we will be back.

One of the nicest Sunday roasts we have ever had. Dog friendly and kids menu was an absolute bonus. Will definitely be back!

We had a huge room, called Elsa I think, overlooking the church. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly, especially as we have a toddler. They helped us get a table to eat early at dinner, we're flexible with our order and helped us with a highchair too. We'll be back soon, if there's room available.

Exceptional meal for four this evening - we all enjoyed a varied choice from the menu - all dishes superb. Excellent service from all members of staff.

Excellent home made food, no Brakes lorries turning up here with pre prepared food. Good prices and good portions. Our waitress Alicia was welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We arrived an hour early for our booking, but that was no problem. I would highly recommend and will return. Keep up the good work you’re a credit to your community.

Where do we start? A relaxed atmosphere with amazing food, very dog friendly. The lounge is wonderful roaring fire, great sofas board games.

The food was fantastic, whether at the bar or in the restaurant. Great selection of booze. And the service was amazing. All in all an amazing couple of days away to chill away from the Xmas madness.

Delicious dinner at the Sun Inn as we made our way to a weekend away in Suffolk.

Every dish was a hit, from lamb sweetbreads to skate wing to pistachio and apricot tart. The no alcohol cocktails were also brilliant, and it's fantastic to see somewhere putting as much effort into their sober drinkers as those on the booze.

Service was friendly and welcoming, though a little slow owing to having one front of house manager seemingly taking all the orders while all the other staff could only bus and clear tables. Not a spoiler at all, but the odd moment where a few more senior team members could have improved the experience.

Not only a Great Pub but the Staff and Customers are Cheerful, friendly providing that much appreciated Ambiance..
