Great local charity shop to donate your household and electrical items. The shopkeeper was very friendly, nice and patient while accepting our donations and explaining the process. Highly recommended!

Racism at Red Cross, when trying to donate... WOW!!

One star to many in my opinion. I have never experienced so much judgment and discrimination. To be honest, the last place i thought i would experience it would have been at Red Cross and when I'm trying to donate. The lady took one look at me (a young black man) and determined there is nothing good I can offer and rejected my donation without even opening the door or knowing what is inside the box. When finally another lady came to door, she couldn't be less interested. She claimed with certainty they would be unable to sell anything I had. I had take
- a brand new monitor stand
- a brand new (unopened) shower curtain with new rail.
- a brand new large plastic container,
- Curtain with rail and brand new unopened curtain rail decoration,
- a small aluminium plant pot with decoration,
- a small black square coffee table
apparently all of these were unsellable. Even resorted to telling me, they wish they could remove some of the items listed on their website including TVs and monitors.

This is the second time my offer was rejected after driving 2miles from my house when i could have easily take it to a skip 0.3miles from my house. The last time they rejected a TV, which I ended up taking to Cash converter next door and got a £100 for it.

Never again!

The saddest part is the discrimination and racism of one of the lady.
